After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 69: Chapter 69 Standing Someone Up?

That guy probably won’t be back until late, she thought, even if she played for a bit, he definitely wouldn’t know.

Finally, unable to resist the temptation, Luo Xiaoqian tiptoed into the Practice Room.

Casting aside the piano lid, Luo Xiaoqian’s fingers slowly swept over the keys.

She had been learning the piano since she was four and had done so for ten whole years; naturally, she felt a very special bond with it.

Pulling out the piano stool and sitting down, she gently pressed the keys and the piano immediately emitted pleasant notes.

As her fingers danced over the keys, a string of coherent notes flowed out like water, and since the Practice Room was sound-proofed, she didn’t have to worry about disturbing anyone.

With a slight lift of her lips, Luo Xiaoqian settled herself and positioned both hands on the keys before naturally beginning to play.

...

...

Leng Zimo pushed open the door, casually hung his coat on the rack, made his way upstairs, and pushed open the bedroom door.

The light was off and the curtains were not drawn.

On the double bed, the comforter was neatly spread without a sign of anyone having touched it.

That girl, she actually dared to stand him up?!

No wonder she sounded so happy when she picked up his call earlier.

The expression on Leng Zimo’s face turned icy.

Turning back, he noticed a backpack outside the Practice Room, and he paused momentarily.

The anger on his face relaxed a little.

She was here!

Could she be practicing again?

Leng Zimo pushed open the door to the Practice Room and, not finding anyone there, he went downstairs into the kitchen.

In the kitchen, there were some added seasonings, and when he pulled open the refrigerator, it was packed with fresh ingredients.

His expression softened a bit more.

Good!

Everything was well prepared; she was quite obedient and had performed well.

Turning to leave the kitchen, his gaze fell on the door to the Practice Room. He walked over and gently pushed the door open.

As the door opened, the fluid, moving sound of music immediately flowed from the Practice Room.

She indeed was there!

Luo Xiaoqian was sitting on the piano stool, completely focused on playing.

Her slender fingers moved across the keys, and her skin appeared almost translucent under the soft light of the piano lamp.

She had clearly showered; her long hair was simply tied with a rubber band, showing off her slender neck and the contours of her entire face, and he could even see the fine golden fuzz on her face illuminated by the light.

Her figure was draped in a loose nightgown, revealing a beautiful collarbone at the neckline.

The corners of Leng Zimo’s lips lifted slightly. She wasn’t sleeping, and had even taken a shower. This girl, was she waiting for him?

Seemingly, she was very well-behaved tonight!

Realizing this, Leng Zimo stepped over and placed a hand on her shoulder.

Luo Xiaoqian was startled, ceased playing, and leapt from the chair as if electrocuted.

Seeing Leng Zimo standing next to her, her heart twisted into a knot.

”You... you said you’d be home late, didn’t you?” she asked.

Leng Zimo raised an eyebrow. ”Weren’t you waiting for me?” he queried.

Realizing her slip of the tongue, Luo Xiaoqian hurriedly denied it, ”I... I didn’t mean that... umm... you must be hungry, right? Shall I go make you something to eat...”

She turned, attempting to flee.

In her heart, she was just regretting.

Why couldn’t she let go of the piano as soon as she touched it? Now that the smell of stinky tofu was washed off and she wasn’t in bed, there was no chance to feign sleep...

”No need!” Leng Zimo grabbed her wrist with one hand, pulled her with a bit of force, and brought her into his embrace. ”I don’t feel like eating right now!” he stated.

”Then... shall I prepare the bathwater for you...” Luo Xiaoqian offered in a fluster.

”I’ve already bathed,” Leng Zimo said.

Luo Xiaoqian stiffened in his embrace, realizing that tonight, she had no escape.
