After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 59: Chapter 59 That Bastard, He’s Not Worthy

Leng Zimo gently pushed open the kitchen door, which parted to immediately cast her figure into his line of sight.

She wore his oversized shirt, its waist cinched into a delicate curve by an apron’s sash, her long hair casually pinned on top of her head with a chopstick, revealing a slender, fair neck, and love bites peeking out from beneath the snow-white shirt collar.

”Success!”

Luo Xiaoqian nimbly used a spatula to transfer the fried eggs from the pan to a plate, looking at her creation with a satisfied smile on her face.

Although the exhaust fan was on, one could still smell the rich aroma of milk and the scent of fried eggs.

Sunlight streamed in through the window, casting a faint golden glow on her side.

After pouring the eggs onto the plate, milk into the cup, she carefully wiped away a speck of oil from the plate and placed the washed chopsticks meticulously at the edge... She looked every bit the early-rising wife preparing breakfast for her husband.

In Leng Zimo’s heart, an inexplicably tender emotion welled up.

”You’re here!” She noticed him standing by the door, flashed a smile, and said, ”Just in time, eat while it’s hot!”

Leng Zimo walked over, took a seat at the table, and glanced at the milk in the cup, frowning slightly, ”I want coffee!”

He had drunk milk back when his mother was alive, but now, every morning, he was accustomed to coffee.

”I made so much, I can’t possibly drink it all. Besides, coffee isn’t good for the stomach in the morning!” Untying her apron and sitting down opposite him, she pushed the cup of milk toward him with a smile, ”Waste is not a good habit, you know!”

After her father’s death and their family’s downfall, to help pay for her mother’s medical expenses, she saved wherever she could.

To her, having something to eat was a matter of great happiness.

So, when there was something to eat, she was always in a good mood.

Watching her radiant smile from across the table, Leng Zimo clenched the milk cup, ”You seem very happy?”

He couldn’t understand how her joy could be so simple?!

”Should I cry about getting to eat instead?” Luo Xiaoqian said with self-deprecating laughter, ”For us poor folks, the ability not to worry about basic needs is already happiness!”

After saying that, she regretted it.

Why did she talk to him about these things? With his status, never having to worry about food or clothing, how could he understand her feelings?

”Eat up, how does that saying go again... ’Only love and good food should not be taken for granted’... no, that’s not right... ’wasting is a crime’!” No sooner had she spoken than she was already contradicting herself, love was bullshit, food was what was real. Fried eggs would never jump from the plate of someone using the most ordinary bamboo chopsticks to the plate of someone with ivory ones. Biting a large mouthful of the fried egg from her own plate, she munched resentfully, ”The fried eggs made by Luo Xiaoqian aren’t something just anyone gets the chance to eat!”

”Where’s Lu Hao?” Leng Zimo asked.

”That bastard, he doesn’t deserve it!”

Luo Xiaoqian chewed on the fried egg in her mouth, speaking indignantly.

Leng Zimo looked down at the plate of fried eggs, his mood brightening along with it.

Indeed, they were very beautifully made!

Whether it was the shape or color, they were very appealing.

Picking up one, he bit into it tentatively. It wasn’t sweet but mildly salty with a hint of spice, reminiscent of the fried eggs his mother used to make.

Before he knew it, he had finished one and was already reaching for a second.

”Tasty, isn’t it?” Luo Xiaoqian watched him chew with satisfaction, ”This is my mom’s specialty, black pepper fried eggs, a real appetite-opening breakfast...”
