”Darling, I, I…” she stammered, trying to say something.

”Shut your mouth! As of now, you’re fired. Get the hell out of here immediately!”

However, the man she had called ’darling’, the manager in the suit, reacted far more intensely than anyone had imagined. He clenched his teeth and actually fired his girlfriend, the blonde woman named Selina. She was so startled she froze in disbelief.

”Oh, no! I’m sorry, my dear, I was wrong. And to you, esteemed guest, please… I shouldn’t have acted that way before. I beg you, don’t let him fire me. Please don’t fire me!” The blonde, Selina, was on the verge of tears as she frantically turned to the manager, grabbing his arm and begging him not to fire her from the hotel.

The entire European economy, including London, was in a downturn, and unemployment rates were high. A hotel receptionist might not be a prestigious title, but the salary was excellent. If she lost this job, finding another with similar pay would be extremely difficult. At the thought of personally throwing away such a lucrative job, Selina wanted to slap herself hard. Why did I have to be so vile? Why did I have to be such a snob, judging people by their appearance?

The American who had initially mocked Chen Fei for overestimating himself had long since slunk away. It was just too humiliating. Besides, he never imagined the man from Huaxia would be so wealthy—they were in completely different leagues.

”Sorry, but I frankly don’t think you’re suited for a front desk job. What do you think, manager?”

Since Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, was already angry, there was no way he would let it slide with a simple apology. You looked down on the people of Huaxia, so why should I give you any respect?

”Of course, of course. The guest is absolutely right.” The manager immediately wiped the sweat from his forehead and nodded emphatically.

The man was clearly intelligent; he understood that once someone like Chen Fei was angered, he wouldn’t be easily placated. Moreover, he knew all too well how terrifying the background and power of the legendary ’King of the World Black Cards’ must be to match such a status. This was definitely not some minor character he could afford to offend! Even the top boss behind the Park Tower Knight Hotel probably couldn’t risk provoking someone of that caliber. At this thought, his resolve to fire Selina and break up with her became unshakable.

”Selina, I regret to inform you that you have lost your job at our hotel’s front desk. Please leave immediately. Also, from now on, there’s nothing between us. We’re breaking up,” he said.

”Oh, no, please don’t. Darling, I know I was wrong. I beg you, please don’t fire me, don’t break up with me.” Upon hearing this, the blonde, Selina, panicked and pleaded with him, her eyes brimming with tears. She looked utterly pitiful, with none of her earlier pride remaining.

”I’m sorry, Selina, but you brought this entirely upon yourself. You should be well aware that you are just a hotel receptionist. The Park Tower Knight Hotel is not your personal property, so what gave you the right to be so insolent in front of such a distinguished guest? I don’t want to repeat myself, nor do I want to have Misus and the others drag you out. Go now. You’re fired.” The manager’s attitude, however, was exceptionally firm.

A girlfriend can be replaced, but he couldn’t afford to offend a guest with such a terrifying and distinguished status. He was an intelligent person and understood what choice to make in this situation.

”No…” the blonde, Selina, cried out, unwilling to give up as tears fell like pearls. She then turned her gaze to Chen Fei, intending to beg him. ”Esteemed guest, please…”

”Sorry, but I don’t think we have anything to talk about,” replied Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, completely unmoved.

He was usually easygoing, but when someone crossed a line, he could become so severe that they wouldn’t even have time to cry. Moreover, her behavior was starting to touch his bottom line. Although Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, wasn’t a nationalist in the traditional sense, he still had a spark of passion and national pride that was innate and could not be insulted.

”I…” A single icy glance from Chen Fei made the blonde, Selina, feel a chill shoot straight to her brain. She shivered involuntarily, all courage to plead draining away, and she departed as if in mourning.

Witnessing the entire scene unfold, Feng Lu couldn’t help but gape, her mouth hanging open for a long time.

This, this, this… Everything happening before her eyes was completely mind-blowing, shaking her entire perception of reality. The Centurion Black Card from Yuntong… what was that? The manager of the Park Tower Knight Hotel had called him such a distinguished guest, even breaking up with his girlfriend without a moment’s hesitation because of him… Her mind was a complete muddle, utterly stunned and filled with disbelief. After all, citizens from developing countries like Huaxia were all too familiar with facing discrimination, contempt, and unfair treatment when traveling abroad. But now… since when could the people of Huaxia be so powerful? Especially inside a top-tier, five-star hotel in London, where the manager was so frightened he barely dared to breathe! If word of this got out, their compatriots back home would never believe it. It was simply too incredible! And it brought so much glory to Huaxia! Thinking of this, Feng Lu’s pretty face couldn’t help but flush red with excitement and pride for having witnessed such an impressive display.

Without giving the manager another look, Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, turned his gaze to the long-haired, olive-skinned woman at the front desk. ”Miss,” he asked slowly, glancing at his cheap wristwatch, ”can you help us check in now? Or do we need to wait, hmm… twenty minutes?”

”Yes, of course! Please wait a moment, sir. I-I’ll process the check-in for you and your friend right away.” The long-haired woman with olive skin nodded repeatedly. How could she dare give Chen Fei any trouble? Hadn’t she just seen her former colleague, the blonde Selina, lose her hard-won job? She certainly didn’t want to suffer the same fate.

By now, most of the anger in Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, had subsided. He couldn’t be bothered to argue with a receptionist, especially one who hadn’t done anything to him. Hearing her response, he gave a slight nod and said quietly, ”Thank you.”

The olive-skinned, long-haired woman quickly completed the check-in procedures for Chen Fei and Feng Lu. She was extremely respectful, almost timid, as she informed them of all the other necessary details.

The manager was somewhat taken aback when he saw the key for a standard, special-rate room in Chen Fei’s hand. In his view, a man holding a Centurion Black Card should be staying in their top presidential suite to match his status, but now… Being a smart man, however, he knew better than to ask foolish questions. As Chen Fei and Feng Lu headed for the elevator, he called out respectfully, ”Enjoy your stay, esteemed guest.”

But Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, still didn’t deign to acknowledge him.

A moment later, once Chen Fei and Feng Lu were in the elevator, the latter could no longer contain her curiosity and excitement. Clenching her fists, she whispered, ”Hey, why are they so afraid of you? Are you really a billionaire?”

She was remembering the outrageous boasts Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, had made on the plane. Only now, she was starting to believe them. If he weren’t a billionaire, how could he speak with such arrogance?

”Of course! I told you before, but you didn’t believe me. You believe me now, right? I’m the real deal, guaranteed.” Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, struck a self-satisfied pose. Then, with an exaggerated and flamboyant expression, he feigned indignation and curled his lip in a scornful smirk. ”That Brit dared to look down on us from Huaxia. I could bury her in cash in minutes, no problem!”

At first, Feng Lu had felt a bit overwhelmed by Chen Fei’s impressive display, feeling as if a great distance had suddenly opened up between them. But now, seeing Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, acting like his usual goofy, unfiltered self, she couldn’t help but let out a PFFT of laughter. The nervous apprehension she’d been feeling instantly dissipated.

”You’ve got some nerve, making me so nervous earlier. After all, this is London, United Kingdom, not our home country. If you had told me how powerful you were, I wouldn’t have been so on edge,” she said, giving Chen Fei a reproachful look while patting her heaving chest.

”Tell you?” Chen Fei looked at her speechlessly for a moment before a smile spread across his face. ”Hey, I thought you were supposed to be the sharp one. How was I supposed to bring something like that up? Besides, would you even have believed me? Anyway, for a man as handsome, dashing, and charming as myself—a figure who shines like a firefly in the dark—do I really need to say it out loud? You should be able to tell I’m awesome just by looking at me, right?”

”Pfft. You’re such a narcissist! Showing off is shameless!” Feng Lu retorted, shooting him a contemptuous look. Immediately after, however, she couldn’t stop her lips from curling into a smile as the elevator arrived at their floor.

”I’m going to get some rest; I’m exhausted. If you’re free tomorrow, we can hang out,” Feng Lu said as she walked out of the elevator.

”Sounds good. Just give me a call,” Chen Fei nodded, stepping out as well.

「Meanwhile, inside the Soria Group, one of the ten wealthiest conglomerates in the United Kingdom, a different scene was unfolding.」

Top neurological and cardiovascular specialists from all over the world gathered around a hospital bed, frowning and at their wits’ end, completely stumped by the strange illness afflicting the man lying there: Elder Liu Huazheng.
