Medical Sage

”Yes!” Pierro’s eyes lit up, and he immediately spoke to Chen Fei with great sincerity. ”Respected Mr. Chen, do you have any time right now? I would like to invite you to the Soria Group to treat a very distinguished figure. He has contracted a strange illness and has been in great pain recently. You must have heard of the Soria Group, right? It is one of the top ten wealthiest groups in the United Kingdom, and its owner, like you, is also from Huaxia.”

However, Chen Fei simply shook his head and declined. ”Sorry, I’m in London on business, so I probably won’t have the time to go with you. My apologies.”

Hearing this, Pierro’s expression froze for a moment; he hadn’t expected Chen Fei to refuse.

He pressed on, his face now tinged with anxiety. ”Mr. Chen, I think I may not have been clear earlier. The big boss of the Soria Group is one of the wealthiest and most powerful individuals in the United Kingdom! He has even been granted the title of Marquis by the Royal Family. You must understand what that means, right? If you could cure him, the benefits you would receive would be unimaginable.”

”Sorry, I’m not very interested in that,” Chen Fei said, shaking his head again. ”Doctor George, it seems my friend is coming out. If there’s a chance, we’ll talk next time.”

One of the wealthiest, most powerful individuals in the United Kingdom? And he was even granted the title of Marquis by the Royal Family? To an ordinary person, those words would indeed be shocking! But the problem was, was he, Young Master Chen, an ordinary person? Clearly not. As such, he truly felt indifferent to so-called status, wealth, or the title of Marquis. It wasn’t enough to cause even the slightest ripple in his heart.

In any case, he hadn’t come to London to treat some random patient; he simply wasn’t in the mood. His mind was now entirely focused on the final Jade Artifact, the one connected to the Ashford Family’s ”Black Dragon” Nemosin. That was what he truly wanted right now!

Just then, he saw Feng Lu staggering out of the exit, laden with luggage. He decisively shook his head in refusal, turned, and walked away.

”This, he… Hmph!”

Seeing this, Pierro stood frozen on the spot for a long moment. Finally, unable to contain his frustration, his face darkened and he let out a cold snort, clearly displeased. After all, in his eyes, even if Chen Fei was the savior of Pierce Earl’s wife, he was still just a small-time doctor. Who did he think he was, acting so arrogantly? Daring to refuse him, Pierro?

”Mr. Pierro, since Mr. Chen doesn’t want to go, let’s not force him. We should get going to the Soria Group. Let’s go, let’s go...” Seeing the situation, George Anthony Lias seemed terrified of a conflict breaking out between Pierro and Chen Fei. Wiping sweat from his forehead, he practically dragged Pierro away.

There was nothing else he could do. Pierro might not know Doctor Chen’s true identity, but he, George Anthony Lias, certainly did. This was the man who had alarmed the higher-ups of the Brad Family with a single phone call! Pierro thought Doctor Chen was merely the savior of Pierce Earl’s beloved wife, Miss Rosa, but George knew his true backing was the Brad Family! That was a presence that had completely conquered the Dark World of the Italian underground, with an influence that radiated throughout all of Europe! At that level, they were like a monster lurking beneath the entire continent. Forget Carl or the Soria Group; he feared even Saint Laurent was not on the same level! There was simply no comparison! How could he not be afraid right now? He definitely didn’t want a repeat of that previous incident. The memory of it was truly indescribable!

”Hey, Chen Fei, who were those foreigners? Don’t tell me they’re your friends?” On the other side, as Chen Fei approached, Feng Lu tiredly lugged her bags while her curious gaze followed the retreating figures of George and his companion.

”Of course not.” Chen Fei smiled and shook his head, casually fibbing, ”Just a few Italians who weren’t familiar with London’s streets. They wanted to ask me for directions, but it turns out I’m also here for the first time.”

As he spoke, he reached for the luggage in Feng Lu’s hand. ”Let me get that. Aren’t you here on vacation? Why did you bring so much stuff?” Compared to him, who had arrived in London with nothing but the clothes on his back, Feng Lu’s mountain of bags was a stark contrast, prompting his question.

”I was about to ask why you don’t have any luggage at all! Don’t you plan on changing your clothes or anything?” Feng Lu found Chen Fei’s empty-handed state just as strange. She handed the suitcase handle to him and rolled her eyes. She had heard of people who traveled without packing anything, but seeing it for herself was still incredibly frustrating! Why did she have to haul all these bags while this guy brought nothing?

”A change of clothes? Didn’t I tell you I’m a billionaire? I’ll just buy things as we go. Isn’t it a hassle to bring so much? I hate hassles more than anything. All right, let’s go!” Chen Fei replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, then nonchalantly turned and headed for the airport exit.

”Pah! A billionaire, what a braggart!” Feng Lu muttered, clearly unconvinced. But then she gave a cute sniffle and hurried after Chen Fei, who was already walking away. ”Hey, why are you walking so fast? Slow down! Can’t you see how short my legs are? This is blatant discrimination against short-legged beauties!”

”I...” Chen Fei was speechless. A short-legged beauty? And that’s my fault?

「...」

Although Feng Lu hadn’t been to London in a year or two, she was clearly still familiar with the city and knew how to save money. After taking the subway to the city center, she excitedly led Chen Fei around for a bit before buying a tourist transport pass. They hopped on and off the subway, and after several hours, they arrived at The Park Tower Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel.

The Park Tower Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is one of the most famous five-star luxury hotels in London, with an international reputation. It is said to have originated from the fashion capital of Rome, Italy.

It had to be said that these top-tier foreign luxury hotels were indeed lavish and impressive. More importantly, their style was completely different from the five-star hotels in China, which gave them a refreshing novelty and appeal. However, after the long, turbulent flight and navigating London’s subway system for hours, an ordinary person like Feng Lu was completely exhausted, even if Chen Fei was unfazed. As a result, she had no energy left to appreciate the hotel’s beautiful design and decor.

As soon as they entered the main entrance, Feng Lu made a beeline for the front desk.

”Hello, we booked a room in advance. Can we check in now?” Feng Lu asked the blonde receptionist, her face etched with weariness.

When the receptionist looked up and saw Feng Lu’s distinctly East Asian features, a flash of contempt crossed her beautiful eyes, as if her status as a Londoner naturally made her a class above. She casually flipped through their passports without even checking the reservation record and spoke in a clipped, cold tone. ”Sorry, check-in is not until 3 p.m. There’s still half an hour to go. Thirty minutes. Please wait patiently.”

”But... okay then.” Annoyed, Feng Lu started to argue, but when she met the receptionist’s stiff and scornful gaze, she wisely held her tongue.

She wasn’t a first-time visitor to the United Kingdom like Chen Fei. She knew that many of the English, especially Londoners, looked down on them, the people of Huaxia. There was nothing to be done about it. The United Kingdom was a developed country, while Huaxia was still a developing one. To these Londoners, people from Huaxia were probably no different from how people in Huaxia viewed the Vietnamese or Cambodians. It was an unfortunate reality.

With this thought, she trudged back toward Chen Fei in the lobby, looking disheartened as she pulled her luggage along.

”What’s wrong?” Chen Fei asked, puzzled.

”Ugh, don’t mention it. They said it’s not time for check-in yet and told us to wait. So unreasonable,” Feng Lu grumbled.

”Not check-in time yet?” Chen Fei paused for a moment, recalling that many hotels abroad only allowed check-in at 3 p.m. He simply shook his head. ”Well, if that’s the hotel’s policy, there’s nothing we can do. It’s less than half an hour anyway. We might as well wait here.”

Just then, a tall American man brushed past them and walked straight to the reception desk. In fluent, loud American English, he announced, ”Hello, I booked a room with a special rate. I’m here to check in.” Because his voice was loud and the lobby was quiet, both Chen Fei and Feng Lu heard him clearly.

Instantly, both of them pricked up their ears to listen.

”Hello, sir. One moment, please.” A smile immediately bloomed on the blonde receptionist’s face. Her enthusiasm grew even more when she saw his American passport. After a quick check of his passport, visa, and booking information, she handed him a key card.

Seeing this, Feng Lu was stunned. She bit her lip and said nothing.

But our Young Master Chen didn’t have her patience. He stood up, strode to the counter, and demanded, ”Miss, I believe you owe me an explanation. Why is this gentleman allowed to check in early, while my friend and I are forced to wait in the lobby for half an hour?”
