Medical Sage

”No, no, it’s not like that, Captain Gu! This is all just a small misunderstanding. We’re trying to clear things up with Boss Hua with the utmost sincerity…” At the sight, Huang Kai’s obese body nearly collapsed, his face deathly pale as he cast a pleading look toward Hua Ming.

Obviously, even someone as stupid as him now understood that he and that idiotic, spoiled Young Master had royally screwed up, so much so that even Secretary Dong himself had gotten involved. At a time like this, their only hope was for Hua Ming to be willing to let the matter drop.

”Yes! Boss Hua, Captain Gu, Zheng Zhengbin was the mastermind behind all of this! I was just an errand boy. It really had nothing to do with me!”

The response from Zhou Zhengxu, the Dog Head Military Advisor, was even more outrageous. His face ghost-white, he practically knelt before Hua Ming. Snot and tears streaming down his face, he threw himself at Hua Ming’s legs and begged for mercy, ”Boss Hua, Grandpa Hua, please be merciful! Just spare me this one time! I was wrong, I truly was! I’ll never dare to do it again! Please, don’t send me to jail!”

”I don’t think there was any misunderstanding. Captain Gu, do you need me to come to the station to assist with the investigation? I will certainly cooperate fully.” But Hua Ming’s response sent Young Master Zheng and the others into despair. You finally realize your mistake now, but what about before? Where did that arrogance go? That blatant disregard for the law and readiness to throw your weight around? As the saying goes, you reap what you sow!

”No, no, Captain Gu, don’t listen to that Old Rascal’s nonsense! It’s just a misunderstanding between us, really! I... My father is Zheng Changhong, you can’t arrest me!” At this point, even Young Master Zheng couldn’t keep his composure. Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, he made his futile defense, repeatedly emphasizing that he was the son of Zheng Changhong, the deputy director of the provincial Bureau of Industry and Commerce.

”Misunderstanding?”

Hearing this, Captain Gu sneered. ”Whether it was a misunderstanding or a violation of the law will become perfectly clear after our investigation! Rest assured, our police force will never frame an innocent person, but we will also never let a guilty one go. Understand? Take them away!”

Upon hearing this, Zheng Zhengbin and the others nearly jumped out of their skins, their faces instantly turning a deathly white!

How on earth did things turn out like this? They knew exactly what they had done in private and how much of it was illegal. How could they not?

At the thought, the portly deputy director Huang Kai gasped and passed out cold! He knew he was finished, truly finished. By the time he woke up, he’d probably be on his way to prison. It was just as the proverb said: you reap what you sow.

”Take them away!” Captain Gu commanded with a wave of his hand, his voice filled with authority.

”Yes, sir!” Immediately, the police officers behind him swarmed in, arresting Zheng Zhengbin and the others.

After his men had led them away, a friendly smile appeared on Captain Gu’s face as he turned to Hua Ming. ”Mr. Hua, in order to properly investigate the case, I’m afraid we’ll have to trouble you to come back to the station with us.”

”Not at all, Captain Gu. You’re far too kind. It’s my duty to cooperate,” Hua Ming replied, looking flattered. ”Thank you so much for your help today.”

”Don’t mention it. We’re just doing our jobs,” Captain Gu said modestly.

With that, they all headed toward the police cars, preparing to return to the municipal bureau.
