Medical Sage

”Mr. Chen? Mr. Chen, is it really you?” When George Anthony Lias saw that it was truly Chen Fei, his eyes widened, and he swiftly approached.

He couldn’t help it; the previous incident was still fresh in his mind, leaving a profound impression. It wasn’t just that Young Master Chen had alerted a magnate of the Brad Family with a single phone call. The nearly miraculous medical expertise he had demonstrated was enough to leave him, George Anthony Lias, utterly humbled. To think that one phone call could alarm such a significant figure in the mighty Brad Family—what kind of power was that? He didn’t even dare to imagine it and had kept the memory of that moment locked firmly in his mind. It was still as vivid as if it had happened yesterday!

”It’s you? It has been a long time,” Chen Fei replied calmly, his eyes flashing for a moment.

”It’s me, esteemed Mr. Chen. I’m delighted to see you here. Did you know? Earl Pierce’s wife, Miss Luo Sha, has almost fully recovered! She’s as healthy as a young girl—it’s truly miraculous and unbelievable. I deeply apologize for my rashness and ignorance back then, Mr. Chen. Please, forgive me,” George said with immense emotion, bowing deeply to Chen Fei.

After bowing, he continued with great sincerity, ”Also, Mr. Chen, I have already published an apology in ”Global Medical Weekly,” as well as my acknowledgment and recognition of the magnificent and great art of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This was our agreement. Please allow me to apologize to you sincerely once more. I am ashamed of my ignorance.”

”You’re too kind, Doctor George.”

Hearing this, the corners of Chen Fei’s mouth curled into a slight smile, and the rigid lines of his face softened. He patted George Anthony Lias on the shoulder and chuckled. ”In Huaxia, we have an old saying: ’There is no greater virtue than to know your mistakes and correct them.’ Recognizing your misunderstanding of Huaxia’s Traditional Chinese Medicine is a very good thing. There’s no need for shame. Doctor George, what brings you to London?”

”An employer invited me to London to treat an important person. Oh, that’s right, he also happens to be a British Chinese and a very famous businessman. The Soria Group he founded is said to be one of the top 500 companies in the world. But for some reason, he seems to have contracted a very strange illness,” said George Anthony Lias.

”A strange illness? What kind?” Chen Fei asked, slightly curious.

”I’m not yet certain of the specifics. However, based on the initial reports, the boss of the Soria Group has been having nightmares almost every night. And every time he has a nightmare, it feels as if his heart is being viciously squeezed, unable to beat. It’s a situation I can’t yet understand, but it sounds extremely dangerous. Doctor Chen, do you have any ideas?” George Anthony Lias first frowned, but then his eyes suddenly brightened with hope as he looked at Chen Fei.

He couldn’t understand it and was currently at a loss. But Mr. Chen, standing right before him, possessed medical skills far superior to his own. Perhaps he might have some insight? Besides, isn’t Traditional Chinese Medicine famous for handling such peculiar illnesses?

”Nightmares almost every night, and it feels like his heart is being harshly squeezed?” Hearing this, Chen Fei was momentarily stunned before a strange look flickered in his eyes. This reaction... doesn’t sound like an illness at all.

”So, Mr. Chen, do you have any...” Just as George Anthony Lias was about to ask for Chen Fei’s opinion, a chilly voice interrupted from the side.

”Doctor George, what are you doing? Is this your friend? Apologies, but we seem to be in a hurry,” said a sharp-nosed, blue-eyed, and impeccably dressed old man, who approached with a blank expression. After giving Chen Fei a cold glance, his gaze quickly snapped back to George Anthony Lias as he spoke.

They were here for the illness of Liu Huazheng, the big boss of the Soria Group. Time was tight, with none to spare for delays! Who had time for George to be reminiscing? Especially when this person was so young, and an Easterner at that!

”Oh, esteemed Mr. Pierro! I was so surprised to see Mr. Chen that I almost forgot to make introductions.” George Anthony Lias’s expression changed slightly at the old man’s tone. He turned his head, discreetly giving Pierro a look. Tapping his own forehead as if he’d just remembered something important, he quickly pointed at Chen Fei and said, ”Mr. Pierro, this is Mr. Chen Fei from Huaxia! He is also a very, very skilled practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine!”

”Traditional Chinese Medicine?” Pierro frowned. Clearly, for a European like him, the so-called ’Traditional Chinese Medicine’ was difficult to believe in, let alone something that could leave a good impression.

”Yes, exactly! Traditional Chinese Medicine!” Doctor George affirmed with a very serious and forceful nod. ”Mr. Pierro, I can swear on my honor that Traditional Chinese Medicine is a truly magical and powerful medical art! In some respects, it’s even more potent and effective than our Western medicine! Given your status, you must know Earl Pierce of Italy’s Saint Laurent Group, correct?”

”Earl Pierce? Of course, I know him. But Doctor George, what does this have to do with Earl Pierce?” Pierro asked, frowning slowly, not understanding where he was going with this.

”Of course, it’s related,” George Anthony Lias said with grave seriousness. ”Earl Pierce’s wife, Miss Luo Sha, previously suffered from an extremely severe cardiovascular disease. At the time, not only was I at a loss, but even my friends in America unanimously agreed that her chance of survival was no more than thirty percent...” He paused for a moment. In their profession, a thirty-percent chance was basically the same as saying there was no real confidence, that they were just taking a gamble and hoping for a miracle. But now, Miss Luo Sha had survived unscathed and was recovering as healthily as a young girl! What did this mean? It meant that Doctor Chen’s medical skills were not only greater than his own but even more formidable than those of his two friends from the Lo Yabes Medical Alliance in America. And the problem was, those two friends from the Lo Yabes Medical Alliance were Nobel laureates in medicine! They were the Earth’s foremost authorities on cardiovascular disease! And Mr. Chen’s medical skills were even greater than theirs—what did that even imply?

”Earl Pierce’s wife, Miss Luo Sha... she isn’t... Wait, could it be...?” Pierro was startled. Just a few days ago, when he had gone to Italy to invite George to the United Kingdom, he had met with Earl Pierce and his wife. She had seemed perfectly healthy then, hadn’t she?

But then his expression changed dramatically, and his astounded gaze immediately fell upon Chen Fei. He wasn’t a fool; he seemed to have guessed something.

”Indeed!” Hearing Pierro’s shocked tone, George Anthony Lias finally gave a slow, solemn nod. ”It was Mr. Chen who cured Miss Luo Sha’s illness. If it weren’t for him, Miss Luo Sha... would probably no longer be with us.”

”Is that so!?” Even Pierro couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath, a flash of astonishment in his aged eyes. He then proactively extended a hand toward Chen Fei. ”Hello, esteemed Mr. Chen from Huaxia. Please forgive my earlier disrespect; I apologize for my rash behavior. I am Pierro of the Carl Group. It is a pleasure to meet you.” His attitude was now completely different from before.

How could it not be? What did the Saint Laurent Group from Italy represent? It was one of the top four luxury corporations in the world, a veritable money-printing machine! The Carl Group he represented paled in comparison to such a behemoth. And now... he realized that the man standing before him was the lifesaver of Miss Luo Sha, the beloved wife of the Saint Laurent Group’s controller, Earl Pierce. How could he possibly maintain his indifference or remain calm? Perhaps even Liu Huazheng—the head of the Soria Group whom they currently needed to court, the man known as the ’Richest Chinese Person in the United Kingdom’—was slightly less significant than someone of Earl Pierce’s stature. After all, the Saint Laurent Group’s influence in the global luxury market was no joke.

”Hello, Mr. Pierro. I’m Chen Fei. It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Chen Fei said, shaking his hand with a polite nod and a smile.

He had no recollection of the Carl Group, though he vaguely remembered hearing of the Soria Group. It didn’t matter, though. This had nothing to do with him... he wasn’t here to treat a patient, after all.

But at that moment, George Anthony Lias suddenly turned to Pierro and said with great earnestness, ”Mr. Pierro, why don’t you invite Mr. Chen to come with us to the Soria Group? To be honest, I don’t have a clue about Boss Liu’s illness yet, but if Mr. Chen is willing to go, I’m certain there will be no problem.”

Obviously, he was full of confidence in Chen Fei’s miraculous medical skills! He believed that as long as Chen Fei was willing to go, the problem would certainly be solved.
