It has been said that the Tiger and Leopard Hall of Lingnan is the most formidable criminal syndicate reigning over the mountains and rivers of South China. They are a force so feared that even the Public Security Department of the Three Provinces of Lingnan and the Special Police Force regard them with deep trepidation. The reason lies in the fact that this gang harbors several ancient masters of the Innate Realm within its ranks.

Therefore, unless absolutely necessary, not even the state is willing to move against them lightly. The term ”Innate Expert” carries a profound significance, one as weighty as Mount Tai.

As for the so-called Ten Chiefs of Tiger Leopard Hall mentioned by Po Rong, they are simply the new figures of authority, propped up in recent years by those ancient masters who operate from behind the scenes. They consist of Ancient Martial Artist masters who have reached the level of First-Class Master or even higher, as well as exceptionally cunning gang strategists, high-IQ scientists, trusted confidants, and more. This group of ten was deliberately assembled to keep each other in check.

”They want to kill me?” Chen Fei murmured, his brow furrowed slightly. I really didn’t expect the people from Tiger Leopard Hall would be the ones to make a move on me. Could it be that they found out about the bank statement? But that can’t be right... There’s no need to make such a big deal over a ’small fry’ like me, is there?

THUD! THUD! THUD...

”I really only know this much! This isn’t my fault, I swear! It was Tiger Leopard Hall who hired them! Please, please let me go!” While Chen Fei was still lost in thought, Po Rong suddenly pushed himself up and began smashing his forehead on the floor before him. He left a mess of bloody prints everywhere, the thudding sound echoing grimly. He truly did not want to endure that hellish torture again. At this moment, he was utterly terrified of Chen Fei, not daring to entertain any other thoughts, only able to beg for forgiveness in the most abject manner.

After all, this matter truly had little to do with him. The assassin who attacked Chen Fei was hired by Tiger Leopard Hall. At most, he had dispatched a couple of his underlings to cooperate, completely unaware of the true situation. Although he was at fault, did he really deserve such cruelty?

This fat pig, Po Rong, was now completely and utterly terrified. He would probably rather die than endure that hellish torment again.

”What about that Black Shark? Where is he?” Chen Fei demanded, casting an impatient and cold glance at him.

”Gone. He was already picked up by the men from Tiger Leopard Hall. It seems they left Hong Kong by helicopter right after the job was done. That car, too. They sank it in the sea afterwards,” the fat Po Rong answered immediately, his obedience absolute.

”Gone? They sure are quick,” Chen Fei commented, his eyes narrowing slightly. A deep sense of irritation welled up inside him, like throwing a powerful punch only to hit thin air. It was a deeply unpleasant sensation.

”Yes, gone. They’re really gone,” Po Rong replied, his face ashen.

”Weren’t there two other lackeys?” Chen Fei suddenly asked in a cold voice.

”There are still… oh, right! The two lackeys! I have them hidden in Tuen Mun. Please, just give me some time! Two hours—no, just one hour, and I’ll have them appear before you, Boss. Please, please spare me!” Po Rong sold out his two trusted underlings without a moment’s hesitation, his face a pale mask of desperation.

”Two little…”

”Stop!”

Just as Chen Fei was about to speak, his brow furrowed, a sharp command cut through the air from behind him. Moments later, a group of men in black, brandishing submachine guns, swarmed in. They escorted a middle-aged man in his thirties or forties, along with an older, limping man with salt-and-pepper hair who looked to be about fifty.

That commanding shout, if one had to guess, came from the middle-aged man. He radiated an aura of authority.

”Dragon Head! Mr. Chen, you’re here too?” Gan Zaixi, the sixty-something elder from New Mark who had been hiding to the side, exclaimed in shock. I can’t believe the Dragon Head of our New Mark main hall and the eldest son of the Chen Family behind the scenes have both shown up. With their status, why would they appear in a place like this? Is it for Po Rong, or… or that young man?

”Mr. Chen, my apologies for our late arrival. I’m Chen Yaoyang, the one who spoke with you on the phone. Shuxian is my wife. Are you… are you alright?” At that moment, the middle-aged man surrounded by a dozen gunmen strode up to Chen Fei. He then looked around the conference room with a somewhat strange expression and stood there, momentarily stunned.

He wasn’t blind. He could see that the situation was not as he had envisioned, with Chen Fei braving the Dragon Pool and Tiger Den alone and in grave danger.

In fact, it was precisely because of this worry that he had even called over Cripple Rong—the current head of New Mark, whom even his own father held in high regard—and brought more than ten submachine guns for good measure. He was terrified that something might happen to Chen Fei.

But now, he realized that reality was vastly different from his predictions.

The New Mark underlings, who should have been in the middle of a tense negotiation with Dongxing, were instead huddled together like frightened lambs in a cramped corner of the room, not seeming to mind the squeeze at all.

Meanwhile, the men from Dongxing, likely lower-ranking thugs, were crammed into another corner, their faces pale, not daring to move a muscle.

Wait a minute, and that fat man kneeling before Chen Fei… As Cripple Rong, who had arrived with Chen Yaoyang, got a clear look at his face, he couldn’t help but gasp in shock. ”Po… Po Rong!?” he blurted out. Although he was the revered head of New Mark, one of the Three Major Hong Kong Gangs, the shocking scene still left him gaping.

What are those spine-chilling injuries on Po Rong’s body? What about that large, sticky pool of blood at his feet? And why is he kneeling so humbly before a young man, his forehead split open and gushing blood? This… this… this… Even at his age and having seen his share of the world, Cripple Rong felt an icy chill creep through his limbs. In my eyes, not even the perverts from the black market with their extraordinary martial power could reduce Po Rong, one of Dongxing’s seven bosses, to such a horrifying, ghost-like state. This is just too…

Hearing the exclamation from his Uncle Rong, Chen Yaoyang stiffened, a complex look flashing in his eyes. No wonder. No wonder my brother-in-law, Dong Wencheng, despite his status as the undisputed top leader of a first-tier mainland city, lost his composure so completely when he heard that this Mr. Chen had been attacked. He flew into a thunderous rage, not even sparing his own sister, and berated her with the harshest words… So this is the reason why.

”Mr. Chen,” Chen Yaoyang began, taking a deep breath, ”those bodies… should we take care of them first?” He spoke in a tone that was shockingly deferential, as if asking for instruction.

This scene stunned everyone present who knew Chen Yaoyang’s identity. They stared, their eyes wide as if they had just seen a ghost.

Let’s be rational here. Although the young man was a monster, practically inhuman, who was Chen Yaoyang? He was the eldest son of the Chen Family, one of Hong Kong’s Five Great Tycoon Families, the acting head of his family, and the true power behind New Mark, one of the three major gangs.

The Five Great Noble Families were colossal entities, powerful enough to be considered rivals to the black market. Everyone in the know had every reason to believe they also possessed terrifying individuals with extraordinary martial power. So, even if Chen Fei was truly terrifying, given Chen Yaoyang’s status, there was no reason for him to speak in such a pleading, supplicating tone.

Witnessing this horrifying display, everyone except for the already numb Po Rong, who perhaps found it fitting, felt their hearts begin to pound. Even the head of New Mark himself, Cripple Rong, felt his pulse quicken dramatically.

The old-timers from Dongxing who had come with Po Rong to negotiate were drenched in a cold sweat, furiously cursing him in their minds. Damn you, Po Rong! Where in the hell did you provoke this terrifying little monster? If you want to die, fine, but don’t drag us old bones down with you! Fuck your mother!

Naturally, the ones who breathed the biggest sigh of relief were Gan Zaixi and his men from the New Mark branch, who had shown such ’foresight’ earlier. Thank God we didn’t act impulsively. Forget Chen Fei, just the fury from our Dragon Head and the big boss, Chen Yaoyang, would have been more than enough for us to handle. We’d have been kidnapped in the middle of the night and fed to the sharks, and that would have been getting off easy. Thank God, thank God!

”You all handle it,” Chen Fei said. Then, his gaze fell on Po Rong. Perhaps because he hadn’t found the true culprit, his voice was laced with an irritable edge that made one’s scalp tingle with fear. ”As for you, even though this wasn’t your doing, you still got involved. You can be spared the death penalty, but you can’t escape punishment. One hand. Do you understand what I mean?”

”Understood! Understood… Hnngh!”

Anyone else hearing Chen Fei’s words would have probably jumped up and started screaming curses at him. But Po Rong, upon hearing them, seemed to breathe a bizarre sigh of relief. He staggered to his feet, snatched a machete from a nearby subordinate’s hand, and brought it down on his own left wrist.

In an instant, there was a pained grunt and the sickening crunch of bone. A severed hand flew through the air and landed on the floor near Chen Yaoyang, causing the latter’s eyebrow to twitch uncontrollably.

”As for those other two, deal with them yourself,” Chen Fei said to Po Rong, finally fed up with the scene. He turned and walked away with a look of cold indifference.

”Yaoyang, what about us?” the Dragon Head, Cripple Rong, whispered to Chen Yaoyang, watching the scene in a daze.

”Uncle Rong, please handle the rest of this. I’ll go entertain our guest…” Chen Yaoyang gave Cripple Rong a meaningful look. Before his feet had even warmed the ground, he turned and followed Chen Fei out of the private estate and into the car they had arrived in.

A stretch Lincoln roared onto the road, leaving the private estate at the border of the Tsim Sha Tsui Eastern Group and New Mark territories.
