High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2261: Chapter 482: Good News and Bad News

As an Upper House Member of the Moon Council and a special guest at the Moonlight Dance, Su Shijun didn’t need to stay for the entire event. After three dance tracks, she elected to leave.

And as Su Shijun’s dance partner, Zheng Qing naturally wouldn’t stay alone.

As for the other two witches, Korma floated away after a dance with him; Jiang Yu also took the enamored little witch away under the excuse that Li Meng needed to rest early, leaving Su Ya and Zhu Si.

”Actually, you don’t need to leave just yet.”

Su Shijun looked at the boy’s expression, which seemed relieved after leaving the dance floor, and showed a mysterious smile. ”Just like you, even though you are my partner, you can still dance with other ladies. At the party, everyone is free. You might even consider attending the banquet the ladies are preparing tomorrow morning.”

Zheng Qing immediately dismissed this possibility.

”I don’t want to miss the finals next week because of poisoning.” He laughed dryly and clumsily complimented, ”As far as I know, there are not a few witches like Li Meng who fervently admire you.”

”What a shame.”

The witch leaned on the boy’s arm with a somewhat lazy tone, ”The best nanny at Greenhill Mansion can’t teach you how to speak. Speaking of a shame, I originally wanted to boost your reputation tonight and had specifically greeted several Big Wizards... now it seems a bit redundant.”

The young cost student struggled to keep up with the slightly sporadic topic.

After a while, he caught a keyword: ”Reputation?”

The Upper House Member of the Moon Council nodded slightly to several young wizards greeting her as she simply explained: ”Most wizards think I’m a very picky person. So, the more outstanding you are, the more you highlight my pickiness. After all, the most beautiful girl in the Wizard World can’t marry an incapable man.”

Zheng Qing choked on his own saliva, coughing violently a few times.

”Marry, marry?”

The boy stuttered, repeating this terrifying word. His tone was so intense that a small sprite flying by was scared, falling out of mid-air.

Su Shijun raised her hand to catch the sprite, rubbed her wings, and released her into flight again. Then she turned and glanced at the young student, showing slight displeasure:

”What’s wrong, you don’t want to? If you don’t want Poseidon to become illegitimate and face discrimination growing up, you should give her a proper status. Of course, this matter has some obstacles in the short term. At least, before you graduate, you won’t have to worry about becoming a househusband.”

Sir Friedman came forward with his partner, respectfully saluting the Upper House Member of the Moon Council and her dance partner. Zheng Qing could clearly feel the Duke’s genuine goodwill.

”Did you feel it?”

After passing by, Su Shijun glanced at the young student sideways: ”Through today’s ball, some of Alpha’s smartest young people have already sensed certain messages... You’ll have much fewer troubles in the future.”

Zheng Qing didn’t feel a thing, only finding his confusion deepening.

”I still don’t quite understand.”

His mind was now a mess, with a little person in his head shouting ’marriage’ in one second, and in the next, turning into Sir Friedman’s friendly smile. The young cost student murmured: ”Why... you could clearly choose a brighter, more outstanding, more powerful partner.”

The witch showed a trace of impatience on her face: ”Am I not bright enough, outstanding enough, powerful enough? I don’t need a partner to enhance my excellence.”

She had made similar statements before.

Zheng Qing quietly took a deep breath, deciding to skip the disturbing matter and boldly chose another question: ”What did Friedman discover?”

Su Shijun sighed with some concern, seemingly having doubts about her divination abilities at the moment.

”Not every warlock has the chance to invite the two most outstanding young female Big Wizards of the First University to dance.” She opted for a more candid explanation: ”...If a boy invites the first Big Wizard by luck or chance, the appearance of the second Big Wizard signifies a certainty. This certainty will make Alpha’s particularly ’smart’ young wizards wary. For you, it’s good news.”

This explanation was straightforward enough.

As the two youngest Big Wizards in the First University and even the Wizard World, Su Shijun and Korma attract considerable attention. Normally, the two witches keep to themselves, rarely interacting with the outside world, yet chose to dance with a specific young warlock at the same party, which leaves those ’smart people’ deep in thought.

”But before you enjoy this ’good news’, I need to remind you of something.”

The witch’s tone shifted as she stopped walking and looked the boy over carefully: ”This good news is based on your ’self-restraint’. Of course, I am not restricting your contact with other witches. Old friends, you can continue to maintain contact, but if another ’newcomer’ appears...”

”Nonsense!” Zheng Qing felt a vein on his forehead throb.

”Oh? Then who is the blonde witch following us?”

Zheng Qing turned abruptly, just in time to see Linda Barnes smiling not far away. Sensing the warlock’s gaze, she eagerly raised her hand in greeting.

”She just wants to do an exclusive interview with you.” The boy looked at the witch suspiciously, full of black lines: ”You can predict such things with a pinch of your fingers, right?”

”Who would waste magic power on such trivial matters.”

The Upper House Member of the Moon Council provided a forceful reason, while pulling up the boy’s collar and brushing off nonexistent dust: ”You just find a way to refuse the interview for me. Also, I just said those ’smart people’ won’t trouble you, but you know, there are a lot of fools in the world. So before sleeping tonight, it’s still necessary to prepare a few amulets or Nightmare Dolls... and don’t keep following me, can’t you find your way back to the school?”

Zheng Qing looked around, beyond the ball venue, there was no moonlight, in the distance was the pitch-dark Silent Forest, with the faint roar of magical creatures and the gentle water sound of Silent River.

”I can’t find it...” he honestly admitted his incompetence, but when he turned back, Su Daxu had already vanished without a trace.

Linda Barnes hurried over.

”Did Su Councilor agree to the interview?” Her tone was urgent.

Zheng Qing looked at her with a gloomy spirit, dejectedly saying: ”Do you think if she agreed, she would run off so quickly? By the way, do you know how to return to the academy?”

”How did you get here?”

”By Pumpkin Car.”

”And where is your Pumpkin Car?”

”...eaten by foxes.”

The warlock’s answer was not without resentment.
