High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2255: Chapter 476: Three Witches, Three Dances, and Three Conversations (3)

”Gra...Graduation?”

Zheng Qing was caught off guard by this sudden proposal and hesitated for a while before tentatively asking, ”Why graduate early? I’ve only been at the university for a year and a half... I’m sure I’m still missing a lot of credits.”

In fact, he had no concept of how many credits were needed for early graduation. Since entering First University, he had been so busy moving from one thing to another that he hadn’t had time to consider more distant plans.

With Nicholas as an example, Zheng Qing had always felt that if he could steadily complete four years at the university without being held back, it would already be his greatest victory.

”Does graduating early even need a reason?” The witch leaned on the young wizard’s shoulder, her figure swaying slightly like a willow in the night breeze. She chuckled, ”First University values results over process now. Something that takes ordinary people four years, if a genius spends two years, it’s not unreasonable.”

Zheng Qing blushed at the praise.

”I don’t consider myself a genius,” he tried to sound modest, though he couldn’t suppress the smile on his face, ”I think people like Xiao Xiao or Lin Guo are more at that level.”

Su Shijun stepped back with the music, circled around the warlock, took his hands, and moved close and far. The train of her long skirt was like a blooming green lotus, unfolding in layers.

”It’s not a hundred years ago anymore,” the witch’s voice matched her dance step, sounding ethereal and light, ”...Endless modern magic theories and increasingly abundant magical knowledge could take even the smartest wizard a lifetime to learn. First University stopped aiming to produce ’all-rounder wizards’ long ago... The school only hopes to educate outstanding students capable of advancing to Big Wizards... Like Korma, who, after becoming a Big Wizard, didn’t even need to complete her credits before the school quickly awarded her a diploma and degree certificate.”

”At the Great Wizard Conference, she will surely be seen as part of First University.” Zheng Qing’s understanding of this was quite clear.

”Bingo.”

The music became more soothing, and Su Shijun’s dance step grew increasingly graceful, almost ready to drift away with the night breeze: ”I’ve looked at your grades, and since enrolling, you’ve always been a cost-student. You’ve consistently scored full marks in the Fu Lu Class, mastered curses and magic potions well, and even proficiently learned transformation early... From the conditions, you are eligible to apply for early graduation. As for credits, you can simply choose some easier courses to accumulate them.”

”Like what?”

”Your Fu Lu grades are excellent, so you could take electives like ’Classical Rune Appreciation,’ ’Unknown Runes Analysis,’ ’Rune System Review,’ ’Western Runes and Eastern Spells,’ ’Runology,’ ’Runesword Study,’ ’Yin-Yang Engraving and Runes Introduction,’ and so forth. It’s twice the result with half the effort... I believe you could excel in ten courses at once by the end of the semester.”

Zheng Qing listened, dumbfounded.

He never imagined there was such a clever way to ’snatch’ credits—yes, upon hearing Su Shijun’s suggestion, the word ’snatch’ popped into his mind, a fully compliant and highly feasible method.

In the distance, another string of dazzling fireworks ascended into the night sky.

The song ended, and the surrounding footsteps became slightly chaotic. Zheng Qing couldn’t help looking down to confirm his dance steps, lest he step on the witch’s shoes.

A slightly cool finger touched his chin, lifting his head upwards.

”Don’t lower your head; the crown will fall.”

Su Shijun smirked, blinking at the boy, ”As I previously emphasized, the most crucial thing at a dance is ’attention.’ Slightly raising your head can give a casual elegance... Hmm, this piece doesn’t quite suit me, you can lead me off the dance floor now.”

The second piece of music was brighter and upbeat, suitable for young wizards at the dance. Yet for Su Shijun, who held multiple prestigious titles such as ’Big Wizard’ and ’Upper House Member,’ it seemed a bit trivial.

Zheng Qing followed Jian Ruiliu’s instructions and gently led the witch away.

He could clearly feel that once Su Shijun left the dance floor, the previously oppressive and deliberate atmosphere swiftly dissipated. The boys dared to tap a few steps excitedly, while the girls courageously lifted their skirts to reveal their fair calves, like a group of colorful butterflies dancing among the flowers.

”Time flies.”

Su Shijun raised a tulip glass, swirled the orange-yellow juice inside, and her tone suddenly carried a touch of melancholy, ”Unknowingly, I’ve reached the age of ’atmosphere disruptor.’

Zheng Qing nodded strongly in his heart.

Contrary to his imagination of Su Shijun being surrounded and unable to move wherever she went, once she took off her glasses and applied light makeup, Su Shijun surprisingly exuded an ’unreachable’ aura. By just standing there, everyone else would scatter far away, evoking a sense of ’only to be admired from afar.’

An unmistakable similar atmosphere surrounded the red gown across the venue—due to failing to bow during her debut, Jiang Yu was abruptly isolated by the young wizards of the Clans of the Moon members attending the event. From the start of the dance, she stood alone, without anyone approaching or inviting her to dance.

She didn’t choose to leave the floor.

Zheng Qing quickly noticed the anomaly, which made him somewhat anxious and uneasy. His gaze frequently darted to the red gown, feeling an urge to do something.

Ultimately, he looked to the witch beside him and bravely asked, ”Can I invite someone else to dance?”

Su Shijun looked at him, surprised, as if such words coming from her dance partner’s mouth were quite unbelievable. Her fingertip quickly calculated in her palm, and her slightly furrowed brow gradually relaxed.

”If you’re not afraid of getting hit.” She discreetly glanced at the figure in red diagonally across.

”What?” Zheng Qing felt he didn’t hear clearly.

This time, Su Shijun looked at him very seriously: ”My point is, the divination results show that if you ’betray’ me at the dance, you’ll get beaten... Of course, the one hitting won’t be me... So if you’re determined enough, it’s your choice.”

Zheng Qing’s eye twitched slightly as the memory of being put in a sack and clubbed last month flashed through his mind. He couldn’t help but raise a hand to touch the back of his head.

”Let them hit, they won’t kill anyone.” He gritted his teeth and stepped toward the red gown.

”Wait!”

The annoyed voice of the Upper House Member from the Moon Council came to his ears: ”Sneaking a bite should at least maintain appearances! How could you lure someone into the owner’s house with them still there! ... I’ll leave first, then you go! Remember, you only have the duration of one dance!”
