Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 201: Chapter 118: Expecting Gratitude for Kindness Rendered (Second Update, Extended Chapter)_2

Cameron Spencer had just come back from a stroll outside, and as he sat down and hadn’t even had a chance to drink his tea, he saw an email printed by his secretary, placed in front of him.

”Is this an email from Summer?” Cameron Spencer picked it up and read through it. Seeing the name ”Kenneth Osborne,” something stirred in his heart, and his expression became a bit peculiar.

After quite a while, he waved his hand to dismiss the secretary, and then took the email to find Brooke Osborne.

Brooke Osborne was in the kitchen preparing ingredients for the soup.

Seeing Cameron Spencer come in, she quickly smiled and said, ”Mr. Spencer, the soup isn’t ready yet.”

Cameron Spencer raised his hand, motioning for her to sit down. He sat next to her and asked kindly, ”Is your younger brother named Kenneth Osborne? Was he the one I saw that night?”

Cameron Spencer remembered that when he first got together with Brooke Osborne, he had even hired a private detective to investigate her background.

Given his status, he couldn’t just bring any woman home, even if she had saved his life.

Only after confirming that Brooke Osborne’s family background was clean did he feel at ease to let her stay.

It was during that time that Kenneth Osborne’s name came into his view.

However, he didn’t pay it much mind.

Now that he asked, Brooke Osborne nodded and curiously inquired, ”Do you still remember him?”

”A young man so good-looking, it’s hard not to remember,” Cameron Spencer chuckled, ”What’s he doing?”

”He’s a computer science student at Metropolitan North University!” Brooke Osborne said proudly, ”My brother is very smart; he’s always had excellent grades since he was young. He was the top scorer in our province when he got into Metro North!”

”Yes, that’s indeed impressive.” Cameron Spencer squinted and said, ”How’s your relationship with him?”

”Very good, extremely good.” Brooke Osborne couldn’t praise Kenneth Osborne enough in front of Cameron Spencer: ”I’m seven years older than him; he practically grew up under my care.”

”My parents were busy with work and often worked overtime, so it was me who took care of him after school.”

”No matter where I went after school, I’d always take him with me; I also picked him up from daycare.”

”I really adore him. He’s also very good to me.” Brooke Osborne even brought up how Kenneth helped her repay tens of thousands in value-added tax, adding, ”He’s just a student and it was hard for him to save up a bit of his personal money, yet he didn’t hesitate to use it to help me repay my debt. — By the way, Mr. Spencer, I want to pay him back that money, is that okay?”

”Of course, of course, go ahead!” Cameron Spencer laughed heartily, seeming in a very good mood, ”He’s your brother, and my brother too, the uncle of our son. With such close ties, we shouldn’t grow distant.”

”Relatives, after all, should keep in touch to stay close. You might as well reach out to your brother. When he’s on break, I’ll send a plane to the Capital City to bring him over to keep you company for a few days?”

”No need for that.” Brooke Osborne quickly waved her hand and said hurriedly, ”Plus, given my current situation, it’s not good for him to find out.”

”Why? Do you feel embarrassed being with me?” Cameron Spencer’s voice carried a hint of displeasure.

”... I don’t feel embarrassed.” Brooke Osborne smiled wryly, ”You’ve never seen me at my most embarrassing. But my brother... he wouldn’t like seeing me like this with you...”

Cameron Spencer understood, smiled, and changed the subject, asking, ”Is that so? What year is he in now?”

”He’s about to graduate and then he’ll be job hunting, which surely will keep him busy.”

”Is he graduating this year?” Cameron Spencer sipped his tea without showing any expression.

”Yes, and he’s amazing. In four years, he’s completing both his undergraduate and master’s degrees!” Brooke Osborne spoke with pride, gently touching her belly, ”When my child is born, I want them to learn from their uncle. If they can be half as capable as their uncle, I’ll be incredibly thankful.”

Cameron Spencer chuckled, saying, ”My child won’t be any less talented than your brother.”

”That’s impossible.” Brooke Osborne insisted, ”Someone like my brother isn’t easily compared to others. I’m far behind my brother, so my son definitely won’t be better than my brother.”

Cameron Spencer’s mouth twitched and he said, ”If I didn’t know what kind of person you were, I’d think you’re purposely undermining my son in front of me.”

Brooke Osborne blushed instantly and said bashfully, ”I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that in front of you.”

”It’s alright, it’s alright. You’re the mother, I’m the father. Given our close relationship, you don’t need to hide anything from me; there’s no need.” Cameron Spencer held her hand and said emotionally, ”Brooke, in my life, I’ve never met a woman as good as you. It’s just a pity I’m older now; if I were ten years younger... I would definitely spend every day with only you.”
