Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 209: Chapter 121: Kindred Spirits at First Sight (Third Update)

Lawrence Winters quickly glanced at the man with the crew cut, instinctively stepping aside.

The man looked about twenty-eight or nine, with a very refined and elegant appearance, but Lawrence Winters only dared to glance at him once and then quickly averted his gaze, not daring a second look.

This person is not simple, he should have once been a graceful gentleman, having experienced a life-and-death transformation, his essence changed from water and wood to metal and fire, fated to wield weapons, not someone to mess with, absolutely not.

She almost shrank herself, but the young man who just hit someone and made their nose bleed moved behind her.

Lawrence Winters could only feel a chill attacking from behind.

She hurriedly swung her small bag behind her without thinking and simultaneously lowered her posture, sweeping her left leg out, delivering a trip to the man behind her, kicking him to the ground.

This is the ”emergency anti-wolf technique” her uncle taught her, specifically for dealing with lecherous men attacking women from behind.

Her leg skills are well-practiced; with one sweep, the man yelled in pain, ”Oh, my leg is broken!”

Only then did Lawrence Winters turn back, seeing the young man holding his left leg, rolling on the ground and wailing.

Kenneth Osborne parked his car and came over, finding the entrance of the restaurant in chaos.

In the crowd, a few people with ill intentions initially wanted to squeeze through but suddenly noticed more formidable people calmly surrounding them.

They didn’t dare to pull their daggers from their pockets because they saw those people had more powerful things on them...

Each of them chickened out and retreated unanimously, then turned and ran far away.

Kenneth Osborne felt a bit tense and hurriedly looked for Lawrence Winters.

He squeezed through the crowd to the restaurant entrance and saw Lawrence Winters standing alone by the door, with Francis Johnson and an unfamiliar middle-aged man on the other side.

On the ground was the young man holding his leg and rolling.

Francis Johnson waved, and an unremarkable, skinny old man stepped out from the crowd.

Francis Johnson pointed at the man rolling on the ground clutching his leg, saying, ”Take a look at his leg.”

The old man nodded and walked over, kneeling on one leg, holding the young man’s leg, pressing section by section, and finally said, ”The leg is not broken, maybe at most there’s a fracture. An X-ray at the hospital might be needed to determine for sure.”

He said ”possible fracture,” mostly because the man was crying while rolling, groundless as it seemed.

Indeed, some people can’t handle pain; even without a real injury, they cry like it’s the end of the world.

Kenneth Osborne moved beside Lawrence Winters, instinctively holding her hand.

Lawrence Winters’s hand was a bit cold, and her palm was sweaty.

”Scared, aren’t you?” Kenneth Osborne comforted her concernly, leaning slightly forward to whisper, ”It’s okay, it has nothing to do with us.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Unfortunately, it has a lot to do with me.

She hummed softly in Kenneth Osborne’s ear: ”...I kicked him.”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

Lawrence Winters quietly explained what had happened just now.

Kenneth Osborne realized she might have been chased and attacked (assaulted)...

He slowly stood up, then carefully looked at the young man rolling on the ground.

Once he clearly saw his appearance, Kenneth Osborne was secretly surprised.

This man, he has seen his photo on the Spencer Group’s website.

Having interviewed for a position at the Spencer Group, he once spent some time studying it, including thoroughly examining its website.

This young man, no, he wasn’t young now.

He is Justus Spencer, currently the Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of the Spencer Group, and the only son of Cameron Spencer, the big boss of the Spencer Group.

Wasn’t he always stationed at the Southern Region’s Z City headquarters? Why had he come to Capital City?

Moreover, why was he chased into such a sorry state?

Kenneth Osborne thought silently, stepping forward to shield Lawrence Winters behind him, preventing that man from seeing her face.

Meanwhile, Francis Johnson was already on his phone, calling the police.

Soon, police cars arrived with sirens blaring, and ambulances also showed up.

They lifted the young man onto the ambulance, driving him to the hospital.

The restaurant’s security only dared then to disperse the crowd of onlookers.

Francis Johnson supported the middle-aged man beside him while speaking to Kenneth Osborne: ”Is this your friend?”

He referred to Lawrence Winters.

Kenneth Osborne stepped aside for Francis Johnson to see Lawrence Winters’s appearance, smiling as he said, ”Yes, I’ve known her since childhood, very well-acquainted.”

He introduced to Lawrence Winters: ”This is Mr. Francis Johnson, the president of the SSA Private Equity Fund.”

Francis Johnson gave Lawrence Winters a deep look, saying: ”Pleasure to meet you. Let’s go upstairs for a meal; I’ve reserved a private room upstairs.”
