Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 227: Chapter 129: Smiling in Defiance of the World

Madwoman was dumbfounded and said to Lawrence Winters, ”Lawrence, you’re awesome! We’re all wage slaves getting beaten by society, but you still want to beat society back!”

”Of course, you guys get beaten by society, so I’ll beat it back for revenge!” Lawrence made a funny face, giggling as he ran to the bathroom to wash up.

Because in a couple of days everyone would leave school and no longer be students, the three of them were a bit sad, but it wasn’t particularly obvious.

They all coincidentally stayed in the dorm, and by eight o’clock in the evening, each of them was in bed.

The dorm’s main lights were turned off, leaving only the small lamps by each person’s bed.

Lawrence Winters had already packed his luggage; the things in the wardrobe were boxed and sent back to the three-bedroom apartment his uncle bought.

Everything left could be taken away in one load on his official departure day.

At this moment, he was lying on his bed, browsing Weibo on his phone.

As usual, he first checked in at the Mason and Graham CP super-topic, posted a mood message, and then checked in at the Lucas Harlow super-topic.

In the Lucas Harlow super-topic, he posted a Weibo.

#About to graduate from university, two more days to leave school, entering society is like diving deep into the sea, from now on classmates are just passersby#.

Perhaps it was a bit sentimental, many of Lucas Harlow’s fans came to comfort him.

After a while, even Lucas Harlow himself replied to his Weibo.

[Lucas Harlow]: Hang in there! Your tomorrow will be even better!

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Lucas is charming, attractive, and talented, but unfortunately, he always speaks as if he’s much older.

How did someone like that develop his acting skills?

After getting familiar with Lucas Harlow, Lawrence often had such thoughts.

He couldn’t help but chat with his roommates, saying, ”Lucas is truly amazing. Even though I’m quite familiar with him, every time I see his new drama, I can’t see any trace of his real self.”

”This state is the best for an actor because on screen, you always see his character, unlike some stars, no matter what they play, you only see the star themselves, not the character they’re portraying. —— For example, that someone who always thinks they’re so handsome.”

Sister Three Billion, lying diagonally opposite on her bed, raised her head, took off an Apple earphone, and said longingly, ”Actually, not necessarily. There’s a kind of person who’s just too beautiful. So no matter what they do, they get forgiven.”

”Even if they have no acting skills and are just a pretty face, as long as this pretty face appears on screen, everyone forgives them.”

”Because everyone’s busy looking at their face, watching their every move, forgetting there’s even acting involved. Hahahaha...”

Sister Three Billion laughed and raised her eyebrows at Lawrence Winters, ”For example, your brother Far—if he entered the entertainment industry, he wouldn’t need acting at all, just his face could enchant everyone, make them go crazy!”

”Sister Three Billion, we’re good friends, but if you keep joking about Brother Far like this, I’ll still give you a hard time.” Lawrence Winters also rolled his eyes, ”Is my Brother Far the type to rely on his looks?! —— He’s clearly an intelligent genius!”

Madwoman snorted, ”You’re just blind.”

”Pfft! In my eyes, Brother Far is unparalleled because he’s brilliant, not because he’s good-looking! You shallow and stupid humans only know how to look at faces!”

Lawrence Winters feigned irritation, but then changed his tone, saying, ”But I do love how you humans are so witlessly vivid! It makes me feel alive, and I’ll live well!”

”Ah, pfft!” Sister Three Billion and Madwoman both sprayed her, ”Like you’re not silly at all!”

Sister Three Billion turned over, lying on her back on the bed, while taking care of her hands, she said, ”...When your Brother Far ends up with someone else, and you come to us crying, we’re not lending you a shoulder to lean on. —— Right, Madwoman?”

Madwoman nodded repeatedly, ”Yeah, yeah, yeah! Certain someone’s self-made choices can’t live, and we’re not anyone’s emotional trashcan!”

”...What are you guys talking about? So profound! I suggest if you can’t talk sense, just zip it! Or else, tongues might get slapped by the wind and you won’t enjoy your breakup meals tomorrow... ” Lawrence Winters pointed in the air at the two opposite, issuing a playful ”warning” with a half-smile.

”Wow! I’m so scared!” Sister Three Billion rolled her eyes, ”Anyway, we’ll see!”

Lawrence Winters didn’t say more, responding to Lucas Harlow’s encouragement on his phone.

He typed out a series of emoticons to express his ”ecstatic” feelings: Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah! Lucas replied to me! So happy! So excited! Want to jump! Little kitten jumping casually. JPG.
