Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 234: Chapter 132: If You Keep This Up, You’ll Lose Me, Baby (Third Update)

Nick Zeller looked at her, lightly pressed his lips together, and said, ”You make a good point, but Lawrence is a very decisive person.”

Hearing this, Gabrielle Winters became even angrier. She lightly punched Nick Zeller: ”Isn’t this your fault? It’s one thing to take her to see feng shui, but why let her be exposed to so many ugly adult relationships at such a young age?”

Nick Zeller quickly raised his hands in surrender: ”Alright, alright, I’ll go check out the bed in the study. If it’s uncomfortable, I’ll buy another one.” With that, he ran to the study in a flash.

Gabrielle Winters watched his large figure dart away faster than a rabbit and couldn’t help but feel amused.

...

At this time, in the Spencer Group headquarters building in the Southern Region’s Z City, the entire board of directors, executives, and key national media were gathered here to witness the Spencer Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Victory Wise Liability Corporation, sign a contract with the world-renowned father of artificial intelligence, Thomas Stewart.

Justus Spencer, the young CEO of Spencer Group, wearing a custom-made black suit, stood energetically on the stage next to a white man with silver-white hair.

He presented the five-year contract just signed with Thomas to the people in the conference hall and said, ”Victory Wise Liability Corporation is a newly established wholly-owned subsidiary under Spencer. Its sole purpose is to conduct artificial intelligence research, developing smarter equipment and programs to contribute to our convenient lives.”

”Mr. Thomas Stewart is internationally renowned as the father of artificial intelligence. He has worked for many years in the computer science department of a top foreign university and is also a tenured professor.”

”We are deeply moved that he has chosen to leave campus to participate in the startup of our new company. Spencer Group will provide the most complete support, the most ample funding, ensuring that our Victory Wise Corporation will achieve breakthroughs in two years, produce products in four years, and be listed in the fifth year, winning the confidence and support of consumers!”

As the CEO, Justus Spencer is very competent.

His speech is very motivating, making a simple matter sound vivid and colorful.

In this respect, he’s better than his two sisters.

The media in the audience frantically took photos and recorded videos, and some new media even live-streamed the signing event online.

When rumors had first spread, Spencer Group had already topped the trending search list, dragging Kenneth Osborne’s AI Vision Promise Corporation back into the spotlight.

Now that the dust had settled, with Spencer Group truly signing the deal with Thomas, the trending search exploded.

Even SSA Private Equity was tagged countless times as people wanted to know how they felt, and whether they regretted it...

Summer Spencer, Spencer Group’s Director of Public Relations, seized the opportunity to make a statement, tweeting: ”The doors to invest in Victory Wise are open to all. If SSA Private Equity Fund wants to switch to investing in Victory Wise, we’d be absolutely thrilled to welcome them!”

While stepping on Kenneth Osborne, she didn’t forget to sow discord between him and his sole investor.

If the average person saw this trending news, they’d likely become despondent, or even do something foolish.

But Kenneth Osborne didn’t have the time to pay attention to the trending searches today. Even when he looked at Twitter, it was just to follow Lawrence Winters around.

And Lawrence wasn’t particularly concerned about the corporate battles either; she was just into chasing stars.

Moreover, they perfectly missed the first round of ”fatal blows” because they were just starting to eat when the opposition’s signing event occurred.

After being warned by Su Changfeng and then reassured by Francis Johnson, Kenneth Osborne was now completely unworried.

However, his calm didn’t mean others weren’t worried.

The Crazy Girl suddenly exclaimed, ”Kenneth the Genius, your company is trending!”

She looked at him with great concern and said, ”... What if your investor pulls out?”

Blake Leaf heard this and asked in surprise, ”What withdrawal? What’s going on?”

”See for yourself,” Crazy Girl motioned for him to check the trending search on Twitter.

Blake Leaf, Three-Billion Sister, and Lawrence Winters silently opened Twitter and navigated to the trending page.

#Spencer Group and the Father of Artificial Intelligence Collaborate to Officially Enter the AI Field!# (Explosive).

This trending topic was marked ”Explosive,” indicating just how shocking the news was.

Ranked about fifteenth, there was another trending topic below this tweet.

#Investor Withdraws Investment Intentions, AI Vision Promise Corporation Facing a Major Blow# Lawrence Winters looked up in surprise at Kenneth Osborne and asked, ”... What’s going on? Is your investor withdrawing their investment?”

Kenneth Osborne, one arm draped over the back of Lawrence’s chair and legs crossed, said leisurely, ”Those were just potential investments being discussed, I haven’t agreed to any of them yet.”

”So those drama queens are just creating unnecessary drama...” Lawrence pursed her lips, ”Spencer Group’s PR director is so petty. She better not run into my hands in the future!”

Kenneth Osborne glanced at her, poured her a glass of coconut water, and said, ”If there’s an opportunity to handle it while you’re at it, that’s fine, but don’t intentionally provoke her.”

”Of course, I know.” Lawrence said and then lowered her head to look at Twitter; suddenly, she froze.

She rubbed her eyes with her hand and then looked dreamily at Crazy Girl, Joyce Shaw, Blake Leaf, and Three-Billion Sister opposite her, ”Hey! Am I seeing things?!”

”No, you’re not seeing things,” Crazy Girl also looked up, saying eerily, ”I’ve never seen so much money before ahhh!”

Kenneth Osborne also lowered his eyes to look at his phone, and saw that SSA Private Equity Fund had just tagged him, writing: ”Mr. Osborne, looking forward to our collaboration.”

Then they posted a screenshot of a bank transfer.

Seeing this, Lawrence Winters couldn’t help but hold her face and scream ”ahhhh” excitedly.

Because in the image, highlighted with a colored pen, it said: ”The first investment has been issued, please confirm receipt.”

And the amount on that transfer screenshot had nine digits—one hundred million.

To casually put forth a hundred million in funding into a newly established company with only two people, how is that different from gambling?

Thus, this trending search quickly rose to the top, squeezing Spencer Group’s signed contract trending topic down.
