Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 213: Chapter 123: Walking the Boyfriend’s Path, Leaving Him No Way Out (Second Update)

Francis Johnson shook his head with a laugh, ”I don’t know about that. I’m not involved with things over there for now, focusing on my private equity fund. Don’t ask me these questions, you can ask Chief Gu.”

Ian Lothrop sighed and shrugged his shoulders, muttering, ”...Ask her? I’d be better off asking little Asui... That kid’s been wandering around his mom and dad’s turf since he could crawl, overhearing quite a lot.”

Francis Johnson nodded twice, thinking, alright... Dear, it’s suggested here that you go find little Asui quickly!

He watched Ian Lothrop anxiously, sent the address to the driver, and closed the car door for him, watching as the car quickly drove away from the restaurant.

It wasn’t until Ian Lothrop’s car was out of sight that Francis Johnson let out a long sigh of relief.

Finally got rid of this big Buddha!

He really hadn’t expected that on their first meeting, this little girl Lawrence Winters managed to catch Ian the Buddha’s attention!

Who knows what the two of them talked about in the private room.

We don’t know, and we wouldn’t dare ask.

Francis Johnson is keenly aware of which questions to ask and which not to, plus he naturally isn’t one to meddle in others’ affairs.

Returning to the private room, he saw the waiter had already served the dishes, Kenneth Osborne was using a small spoon to ladle soup for Lawrence Winters.

Upon seeing him enter, Lawrence Winters smiled and said, ”Mr. Johnson, what do you like to eat? I placed these dishes near you.”

Francis Johnson took a look and indeed, they were all dishes he liked: stewed crab meat lion’s head meatballs, clear soup shepherd’s purse carp, a plate of crystal pork, and a dish of sweet and sour boiled celery peanuts.

”Whoa? Heavenly Master Winters, do you really have such magical powers? You could tell what dishes I like at a glance?” Francis Johnson remarked casually, sitting down opposite Kenneth Osborne.

Lawrence Winters laughed, covering her mouth, glanced over at Kenneth Osborne, and said to Francis Johnson, ”It has nothing to do with being a Heavenly Master, it’s all my guess!”

”Oh? Just guessing and getting it right? That’s even more impressive!” Francis Johnson gave her a thumbs-up and then picked up a slice of crystal pork to eat.

Lawrence Winters chuckled, ”These dishes were ordered by you and Kenneth together. As soon as I looked, I knew besides the dishes I like, the rest must be what you like. — Because when Kenneth and I eat together, he only orders the dishes I like.”

Francis Johnson: ”...”

Suddenly felt that even the crab meat lion’s head meatballs didn’t taste as good.

He was choked by this unexpected display of affection.

He gave up on the crab meat lion’s head meatballs and used the soup spoon to ladle a bowl of shepherd’s purse carp soup, drinking it slowly as he said with a half-smile, ”With such good chemistry between you two, when are you planning to get married?”

Lawrence Winters: Pfft—!

She was just drinking soup and spat it out at the words.

Francis Johnson quickly dodged and narrowly avoided getting hit by the soup, though his chair wasn’t as lucky.

Kenneth Osborne hurriedly grabbed the chair Ian Lothrop sat in earlier and replaced it for Francis Johnson, laughing, ”Don’t take it personally, Nora’s not my girlfriend.”

Francis Johnson raised his brows in surprise, ”...Haven’t won her over yet?!”

His gaze shifted to Lawrence Winters. This little girl was indeed quite attractive, full of ethereal charm when weaving tales and ultimately very captivating, but when she smiled, she was radiant with allure, already possessing the allure of a woman.

Even so, Kenneth was more than well-suited to match her.

Francis Johnson had seen quite a few handsome men, but ones like Kenneth Osborne were rare, he’d seen only one such person so far.

Of course, that person’s presence was so strong that his looks were often overlooked.

But Kenneth Osborne was different, cultured and graceful, tall and handsome, yet approachable, further amplifying his facial appeal.

How could he not have won over Lawrence Winters?

Francis Johnson looked back and forth between Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne, his hands itching with the desire to play matchmaker.

Lawrence Winters drank lotus root and pork rib soup, her face nearly buried in the soup bowl.

Kenneth Osborne used shared chopsticks to serve her a portion of stir-fried green chili with native eggs, it was a home-style dish, but cooked with animal fat making it exceptionally fragrant.

Cooking greens with animal fat is particularly effective, just a little makes the aroma burst forth, anyone who uses it knows.

”Lawrence, right?” Francis Johnson said slowly, eating boiled celery peanuts with a hint of gossip, ”Did you also graduate from university this year?”

Lawrence Winters nodded, finally finishing the last drop of lotus root and pork rib soup, and started trying other dishes.

”So, do you have a boyfriend?” Francis Johnson ate one boiled peanut, probing with his question.

”Nope.” Lawrence Winters shook her head crisply, ”What do I need a boyfriend for? I have classmates, friends, an uncle, a mom, soon I’ll have a job, where would I find time to date a boyfriend?”
