Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 225: Chapter 128: Poverty Limits Her Ability to Complain

Justus Spencer was overjoyed, ”Dad, you’re really good to me!”

”You’re my only son, if I’m not good to you, who would I be good to?” Cameron Spencer said with a sly smile, ”Be careful yourself, don’t cause any trouble. If trouble arises, the board will handle you without me having to.”

Thinking of Molly Zimmerman, Justus felt a bit guilty, quickly saying, ”Dad, I understand, I won’t do that.”

After saying this, he cautiously asked, ”Dad, my uncle told me you and my mom got divorced. I said he was deliberately spreading rumors to drive a wedge between us. I already scolded him for it.”

Cameron chuckled, closed his eyes, and said, ”No need to scold him; I did indeed divorce your mother.”

”What?! It’s actually true?!” Justus was both shocked and angry, ”Why? Dad, you and mom have been married for decades, how could you just suddenly divorce?”

Cameron said calmly, ”... Are you sure? How many years have your mother and I been separated, do you know?”

Justus rolled his eyes, thinking, you’ve had so many women, making my mom a widow while still young, and now you call it separation?

This old man is really wicked!

But he dared not say this to Cameron’s face.

Cameron picked up his teacup, took a sip of Biluochun, and chuckled, ”Since you were born, your mother and I have been separated. You do the math. Now that we’re divorced, is that ’suddenly’?”

Justus’s head felt hot from the pressure and suddenly said, ”After being separated for so long, why divorce now? Don’t tell us it’s for mom’s sake. At her age, divorcing probably means she’ll become a nun.”

”She’s already become ordained,” Cameron said blandly. ”Remember to visit her at the nunnery during the New Year. I donated a nunnery for her, and she’s the abbess there. It’s sort of our family temple. Haha...”

Justus felt his vision darken, ”A... nunnery?! Dad, you can’t be serious?!”

”I only told you about this, so if others find out, it must have come from you. Feel free to make a fuss, but it won’t be my problem if everyone knows,” Cameron said as he was about to hang up the phone.

Justus quickly came to his senses, hurriedly saying, ”Dad, I won’t, I absolutely won’t tell anyone! Once Jenny is pregnant, I’ll bring mom back; she’ll definitely return to secular life!”

”It’s up to you,” Cameron said indifferently. ”The matters between your mom and me have nothing to do with you kids, so don’t meddle.”

This was a reminder to Justus that if he interfered with matters between him and his mom again, he wouldn’t be treated kindly.

Justus was just asking out of curiosity, quickly saying, ”Dad, I’m not actually very familiar with mom. As you said, you and mom separated when I was born.”

”I grew up with you. You raised me yourself, and I only had one day each month to see mom. During the New Year and holidays, mom would live with us.”

Cameron laughed with a hint of sarcasm, ”Yes, later your mom asked her family to send her cousin Hazel Winchester over as a caretaker to live with us, taking care of both me and you. —See, your mom is smart, isn’t she?”

Justus felt a bit embarrassed.

He knew that with all that caring, Auntie eventually became Cameron’s third wife.

Cameron said blandly, ”Actually, your Aunt Hazel has one good quality, and that’s her genuine love for you.”

”After all, you were the first child she raised from a young age, and she cared for you more attentively than her own daughter, Summer.”

This was true, so Justus truly respected Hazel as a mother, and their relationship was more like mother and son, while his relationship with Ruby Rayner was more distant, like ordinary relatives.

Cameron had a very thorough understanding of his four women.

He had no qualms about commenting on his women in front of Justus: ”Compared to your mom, your Aunt Hazel is as dumb as they come, even dumber than the second wife.”

”But son, women like this are easy to get along with. You don’t have to hide anything or be guarded with them, and her massage skills indeed take the edge off during the most intense work periods.”

”So I’ve always been good to your Aunt, allowing her to secure benefits for her family back home, and even raised the wealthiest individual in Central South Province.”

”However, Central South Province is an inland province, and even if the Zimmerman Family is the wealthiest, it’s still nowhere near the top in big coastal or northern cities.”

However, Hazel should never have, under any circumstances, tried to extend her hand into the Spencer Group’s affairs.
