Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 239: Chapter 135: The Teaser Gets Teased (Third Update)

”Ha, back then Boss Cen didn’t cut us any slack either.” Edward Foster sneered and pursed his lips, sitting beside his father, he held these old fossils of the board in contempt, almost wanting to write ”disdain” right on his face.

”... Back then is back then! How many years has it been since then? Still remembering those days, are you? Besides, hasn’t Boss Cen already given us plenty of concessions...” The board member speaking had a somewhat flickering gaze.

Edward Foster looked at his father, who still maintained a blank expression, and even when he wasn’t speaking, the androgynous beauty of his face was not at all aggressive, but it still carried an undeniable authority.

He looked at him with envy, wondering when he could exude such presence.

”President Foster, can you say something...” someone beside him gently reminded their chairman and CEO, who was Edward Foster’s father, Gabriel Foster.

Gabriel Foster sat very straight, completely unlike Edward Foster, who would slouch and practically lie back in his chair if possible.

He looked at the board member and said aloofly, ”Director Yu, regarding the old matters, others may have the right to speak for the Cen Clan, but you do not.”

”What do you mean?!” Director Yu felt a chill in his heart and suddenly dared not look into Gabriel Foster’s eyes.

”Don’t you understand what I mean? Do I have to repeat myself? Do you really want to hear it?”

”You’re utterly unreasonable! We are discussing business matters, what’s with your attitude?!” Director Yu suddenly stood up, ”Since there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave first!”

He hurriedly left the meeting room, not even bothering to close the door behind him.

The hallway was eerily quiet, the LED ceiling lights casting a pristine white glow over the empty corridor.

As soon as Director Yu stepped out of the meeting room, Gabriel Foster’s cold voice came from behind him, ”It’s getting late, Director Yu, be careful walking. You and our patriarch were sworn brothers. It’s been years, maybe he’ll want to chat with you tonight.”

Director Yu sharply raised his head, looking at the hallway in front of him, suddenly feeling a chill.

He glanced back at the meeting room, pulled his coat tighter, and swiftly ran away.

After a few steps, he suddenly fell to the ground.

He yelped, scrambled to stand up, and continued to run forward until he reached the elevator, only then did he feel relieved.

Edward Foster received a signal from his father’s eyes and knowingly nodded.

He swiped open his phone, found a certain app, opened it, and began controlling the building’s designated elevator.

Therefore, during the brief one-minute journey inside the elevator, Director Yu experienced the lights turning on and off, the elevator sporadically stopping, and vaguely hearing music that sounded like pop songs from decades ago.

He paled with fright and developed a fever after returning home from the Foster Consortium’s headquarters.

Meanwhile, Edward Foster closed the app and gave his father a knowing look.

Gabriel Foster slightly curled his lips into a smile and then addressed the meeting room, ”Does anyone else have any other opinions?”

A HR executive nervously adjusted his glasses on the bridge of his nose and softly asked, ”That post on Weibo, was it really authorized correctly?”

Of course not.

Edward Foster knew clearly, it was definitely his newly hired ”communications officer” sticking up for her good friend...

However, facing the consortium’s internal inquiry, he wouldn’t throw Lawrence Winters under the bus.

Edward Foster lazily said, ”I told her to post it, what’s wrong with that? Is it not allowed?—As for the CEO of NewHuman Corporation, seems that’s me, not you...”

The person quickly displayed a fawning smile and said, ”If it’s from Young Master Foster, then no problem. I was just worried that since the young lady is new and hasn’t formally joined, how can she do such a thing?”

”Mhm, I got it, I gave her the account and password. Regardless, we don’t have another communications officer right now, that position is tailored just for her, giving it to her early is good for familiarization.”

Edward Foster could lie effortlessly.

The HR executive was merely seeking someone responsible for the incident, otherwise, with a non-official employee causing such a situation, upper management would flip out at any moment, and he’d be the scapegoat.

Now that Edward Foster openly admitted responsibility for the matter in front of the board and all top management, it wasn’t an issue.

Procedures were already in effect, and if accountability was sought, Edward Foster would bear the responsibility.

Edward Foster was the consortium’s young scion, currently just idly working at a subsidiary, but he attended all board meetings, clearly being groomed as the successor.
