Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2357: Chapter 2358: Not Angry, Just Embarrassed

At around three in the morning, Ning Zihan finally couldn’t hold on any longer and fell asleep. An Baobei heard his steady breathing from the other end, realized Ning Zihan was asleep, and hung up the phone.

As soon as she hung up, she burst into laughter.

Just because Ning Zihan had shouted so much that his voice was hoarse. Hahaha!

At ten in the morning, Ning Zihan woke up, and upon waking, he felt a splitting headache, and his throat hurt too. But he couldn’t stand the smell of alcohol on his body, so despite the headache and sore throat, he went into the bathroom to take a shower.

After showering, he called for breakfast to be delivered. It was then that he realized his voice was hoarse.

No wonder his throat was sore.

When breakfast arrived, his head didn’t ache as much, but his throat was still very sore.

Even though it seemed strange, he didn’t pay much attention to it, attributing it to having drunk too much the previous night.

As he ate breakfast, he played on his phone. He accidentally discovered from the call records that he had called An Baobei many times last night; he was still calling after three in the morning. This made him break out in a sweat and realize things could be serious.

So many calls...

And he had lost his voice...

”I hope I didn’t say anything stupid...” Ning Zihan started to worry. Liang Youxu always said he’d talk nonsense when he was drunk. He didn’t want to upset An Baobei by saying something foolish, causing her to ignore him again.

He had worked so hard to create some change in his relationship with An Baobei.

Too worried, he didn’t feel like eating breakfast anymore. So Ning Zihan, without hesitation, called An Baobei. Instead of imagining things, it would be faster to ask An Baobei directly.

An Baobei was practicing yoga on her room’s balcony, and when she saw Ning Zihan calling again, she couldn’t help but feel great, thinking of how Ning Zihan had shouted himself hoarse. Answering the call, she jested, ”What is it, didn’t you say enough last night?”

Ning Zihan paused for a moment, then cautiously asked, ”What did I say last night?”

”You don’t remember?”

”I don’t remember.” After a pause, ”I usually don’t remember things when I’m drunk.” After another pause, his tone filled with worry and additional caution, ”Did I say something stupid?”

Thinking about how Ning Zihan typically doesn’t remember things after getting drunk, An Baobei believed him, and deliberately said, ”Of course you said stupid things!”

Ning Zihan immediately felt a jolt in his heart.

An Baobei continued, ”You were constantly cursing up a storm, using all sorts of foul language without repeating yourself! Not only shouting but really loudly shouting. Just look at your voice, and you’ll know I’m not lying. Oh, and you kept calling me auntie~”

The last part was clearly a tease.

Seeing An Baobei like this, Ning Zihan didn’t mind at all, and even felt relieved. If she could joke with him like this, she shouldn’t be angry.

So, he said, ”No matter what I said, I apologize. I drank too much last night.”

Inside, An Baobei was secretly amused, but she just hummed aloud casually. She wasn’t going to tell him that he kept saying he missed her all night!

”As long as you’re not mad,” Ning Zihan added.

An Baobei huffed, ”Who said I’m not mad? I’m clearly mad! I’m very mad right now!”

He was used to her saying the opposite of what she meant. Ning Zihan chuckled softly and said, ”If you were really mad, you wouldn’t have answered my call.”

”Hmph!” An Baobei didn’t like how well Ning Zihan knew her, so after a hearty huff, she hung up on Ning Zihan.

Ning Zihan didn’t call An Baobei back. He knew An Baobei wasn’t genuinely angry, just embarrassed that he knew her so well, which is why she had hung up.
