Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1543: Chapter 1544: Let Everyone Know

”Alright, you can go back now.”

Feeling that Gong Jue Chen should have been comforted by her and was fine now, Ye Zhi released her grip from around Gong Jue Chen’s waist, wanting to leave his embrace and letting him return to the Meng family.

However, Gong Jue Chen refused to let go, still holding her tightly, and even deliberately nibbled on her earlobe.

His warm, heated breath enveloped her ear and neck, making her even hotter, causing her ears to turn a bright red as if they were about to bleed.

”Zhizhi, why don’t we consummate our marriage tonight?” Gong Jue Chen rested his chin on Ye Zhi’s shoulder, with a mischievous smile on his face, and playfully nibbled on her ear, clearly teasing Ye Zhi.

But Ye Zhi couldn’t see Gong Jue Chen’s expression, and her chaotic thoughts made it impossible to tell if he was joking.

All she could do was push Gong Jue Chen away in embarrassment and anger, scolding, ”You’re taking advantage before we’re even married. Do you believe that I won’t marry you because of this?”

Gong Jue Chen wore an innocent expression: ”But you hugged me first... I thought you wanted to consummate early...”

Seeing Ye Zhi’s glare, Gong Jue Chen wisely shut his mouth, leaving the last word unsaid.

Though he stopped talking, Gong Jue Chen couldn’t help but laugh at Ye Zhi’s blushing face.

His Zhizhi looked so beautiful when embarrassed.

”Go back quickly!” This time, Ye Zhi was indeed shooing him away without any niceties. She even pushed Gong Jue Chen to make him leave.

Taking advantage of the momentum, Gong Jue Chen held one of Ye Zhi’s hands, letting himself be pushed out while saying particularly gently, ”Then I’ll come to see you tomorrow.”

They had already agreed that tomorrow they would go together to choose an auspicious day for their wedding. Also, they’d buy a house, a place to call their own.

Once they were married, living in the Xiyun mansion or staying with the Meng family wouldn’t be suitable.

Besides, Ye Zhi didn’t want that either. It didn’t feel right for a couple to live in someone else’s home; buying a house just for her and Gong Jue Chen seemed better. That way, it would truly be a home for both of them.

After all, Gong Jue Chen wasn’t lacking money, and now neither was she. Buying a house was just a drop in the ocean for them.

Ye Zhi was still embarrassed and angry, but upon hearing Gong Jue Chen’s words, she nonetheless replied, ”Mm.”

Hearing this, Gong Jue Chen immediately said, ”Zhizhi, I really like you so much. I’ve never liked anyone like this before.”

Although he spoke sincerely, Ye Zhi only took his words as sweet talk.

”Alright, hurry back,” Ye Zhi gave him another push, simultaneously withdrawing her hand from his grasp.

”Okay.” As he agreed, Gong Jue Chen quickly leaned in and kissed Ye Zhi on the lips before dashing away.

”Gong Jue Chen, you!” Ye Zhi, angry, took two steps to chase him, but then stopped, just standing there, watching him run off.

Not only did Gong Jue Chen run away, but he also loudly shouted as though he wanted the entire world to know, ”Ye Zhi, I like you! I like you! I like you! I, Gong Jue Chen, like you!”

Gong Jue Chen’s voice was so loud that almost everyone in the Xiyun mansion could hear it, making Ye Zhi’s face even redder, though she only muttered in a low voice, ”Crazy.”

Despite the three words of complaint, Ye Zhi couldn’t suppress the upward curve at the corner of her mouth.

...

The next day, at the Imperial Palace, in the Fenghua Palace.
