Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1509: Chapter 1510: Fierce Scolding to Attract the Enemy

But when An Jing saw that the black-clad allies were helping them attack the castle, she was no longer worried, and instantly recalled what Xiao Changyi had told her last time: the capture of Jingye City was thanks to the help of four to five hundred black-clad allies.

These black-clad allies were quite skilled, too. It looked like they were the same group of people.

Thinking about how Xiao Changyi suspected these people were Gong Juechen’s... An Jing had no time to worry about that and quickly rode her horse to the West Gate. Her mission was not yet complete; she needed to finish it. And now, she was going to snipe Gao Yufeng, the gatekeeper General at the West Gate.

One incense stick later, An Jing finally arrived at the West Gate.

It seemed that due to the prolonged confrontation, Gao Yufeng had already come down from the city tower and was not up there. Upon seeing this situation, An Jing immediately dismounted at the rear of the army and had a soldier quickly report to Qi Tengfei, asking Qi Tengfei to lead Gao Yufeng back up the city tower.

Qi Tengfei, upon hearing the soldier say An Jing had arrived and wanted him to lead Gao Yufeng up the city tower, immediately complied.

He cursed Gao Yufeng furiously.

He had learned from Qiao Shouye that Gao Yufeng couldn’t withstand insults; as soon as he was cursed, he would appear. Sure enough, Gao Yufeng heard Qi Tengfei cursing him and immediately went up the city tower to curse back.

As soon as An Jing saw Gao Yufeng, she quickly aimed at him with her sniper rifle, and without the slightest hesitation, she pulled the trigger.

Originally, An Jing had wanted to shoot some other leaders as well, but apart from soldiers and archers on the city tower, there were no other leaders present. The confrontation had lasted too long, and Qi Tengfei was not attacking the castle, so everyone simply drank tea at the bottom of the city tower.

If it hadn’t been for Qi Tengfei cursing Gao Yufeng to lure him up the city tower, Gao Yufeng would have been down there in the city, in the tent, drinking tea with the other leaders.

When Gao Yufeng died, the leaders were all below, drinking tea. If not for the panicked cries of the soldiers and archers shouting ”Great General” on the city tower, they wouldn’t even have known Gao Yufeng had died.

When An Jing arrived, just as the cursing Gao Yufeng suddenly fell silent and collapsed, Qi Tengfei instantly realized Gao Yufeng was dead and hurriedly led the army behind him to attack the castle.

And because there were temporarily no leaders commanding on the Ximen City Tower, it was chaotic, giving Qi Tengfei and his men an even greater advantage. It wasn’t until Qi Tengfei’s men smashed through the West Gate with stones that the leaders finally ascended the city tower...

Without a general, the army’s morale was scattered and low, despite having 250,000 soldiers, they still couldn’t match the highly spirited Xiyun army of 100,000.

An Jing didn’t concern herself with how Qi Tengfei and his men attacked the castle. She decided not to waste bullets shooting the enemy archers and soldiers on the city tower, and instead rode her horse, carrying her sniper rifle, heading toward the North Gate.

Sweat had soaked through her clothes. An Jing was also very thirsty, but she didn’t even have time to drink a sip of water.

The situation was changing rapidly, and she feared that a moment spent drinking water would cause things to go wrong.

Better to complete the mission first.

She had already shot three gatekeeper generals, and while An Jing was quite satisfied by now, she chose to maximize her efforts and take down the general guarding Chilin’s North Gate with a single shot as well.

In front of Chilin’s North Gate, Liu Buli was truly there with his men. It seemed the confrontation had lasted a long time, and Liu Buli wasn’t attacking the castle. On the North Gate city tower, apart from many soldiers and archers, there were no senior leaders at all.

There were one or two minor generals, but An Jing didn’t want to startle the snake. The one she wanted to kill was a major general; killing minor generals wouldn’t help Liu Buli’s attack on the North Gate much.

As soon as An Jing arrived at the rear of the army, she also dismounted and had a soldier go tell Liu Buli, asking Liu Buli to lure the enemy’s gatekeeper general up the city tower.
