Chapter 1527: Chapter 1528 King

In this world, the title of Paralleled King stands on equal footing with the Emperor.

Su Chengyu is now the ’Emperor of Xiyun’, and now that Su Chengyu has conferred the title of Paralleled King upon Xiao Changyi, Xiao Changyi becomes the ’King of Xiyun’.

If the title were bestowed upon someone else, perhaps no one would be convinced, but Su Chengyu conferring it upon Xiao Changyi, who holds the greatest prestige in Xiyun, even more than Su Chengyu himself; upon hearing this, everyone immediately knelt and bowed: ”Long live the King, long live for ten thousand years.”

Gong Juechen followed suit and knelt, sneering in his heart: ”Even if you make him the Paralleled King, he won’t rule Xiyun with you, haha... you surely counted on that.”

An Jing was a bit confused. Her husband had become the King of Xiyun, which meant she was the Queen of Xiyun?

... Su Chengyu was truly excessive, conferring a title upon her husband without saying a word to them; her husband was definitely not happy about this.

Unconsciously, An Jing’s gaze turned to Xiao Changyi, indeed seeing Xiao Changyi expressionless, yet with a hint of anger in his cold eyes.

However, with so many people present, Xiao Changyi didn’t embarrass Su Chengyu, the Emperor, instead he calmly said two words: ”Arise.”

”Thank you, Your Majesty.” Only then did the crowd stand up.

Su Chengyu let out a big sigh of relief. He was really afraid his Brother Yi would leave in anger just like that. Fortunately, Brother Yi accepted it.

Three hundred thousand soldiers were temporarily stationed outside the Imperial Capital, while some key generals followed Xiao Changyi and others into the Imperial Palace to be awarded, after leveling Chilin. Su Chengyu, the Emperor, needed to reward and honor achievements.

Xiao Changyi was now the King of Xiyun, sitting alongside Su Chengyu, the Emperor of Xiyun, atop the imperial chariot entering the Imperial Palace.

Compared to sitting with Su Chengyu, Xiao Changyi preferred riding a horse, as it kept him closer to his wife, while now, he was far from his wife.

Involuntarily, Xiao Changyi’s cold eyes once again revealed a trace of anger.

Sensing the low pressure beside him, Su Chengyu felt a chill, looked around, and saw that everyone was respectfully bending their heads, not daring to look at them on the imperial chariot. Only then did he speak softly, with a smile on his face towards Xiao Changyi, ”Brother Yi, hehe, please don’t be angry. Since you were already the leading Prince and then achieved such great feats after leveling Chilin, there was simply no way not to confer you the title of Paralleled King. And if I don’t confer it upon you, how will the people discuss this? They will surely say I fear you for overshadowing the master.”

Xiao Changyi also understood that Su Chengyu had his difficulties, but he just couldn’t feel comfortable about it.

After a long pause, he said in a low voice: ”I can accept this title of King, but don’t even think about having me co-manage Xiyun with you.” Spending time with his wife and children already felt scarce; he had no time to manage this empire with him.

Hearing this, Su Chengyu knew Xiao Changyi was no longer angry and smiled, saying: ”Brother Yi, you can let go of it, I can still manage Xiyun on my own.”

Xiao Changyi just glanced at Su Chengyu without saying anything further. With two such worrisome brothers, the road to retreating into obscurity for him and his wife was long.

...

In the Imperial Palace, Assembly Hall.

Above the jade steps, next to the Dragon Chair, a King Chair had been added, and at this moment, Xiao Changyi was sitting on it.

Indeed, it was premeditated.

The moment Xiao Changyi entered the Assembly Hall and saw the King Chair added beside the Dragon Chair, this was the thought in his mind.

The anger had passed; Xiao Changyi was calm and unperturbed now, sitting there. Even though he wasn’t wearing the royal attire and was still in battle armor, he remained as expressionless as usual.
