Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Streamer, Are You a Misogynist?

Anyone who’s been on the blind date circuit knows it’s a game of subtraction.

When you first start, you can list all sorts of requirements for your potential partner: age, height, looks, body type, education, profession, and so on. You could even demand they love things like Houttuynia, cilantro, and stinky tofu.

But once you actually take a spin on the dating market, the Matchmaker will tell you that if you don’t drop some of those conditions, the number of men who fit your criteria is... a big fat zero.

Reality forces you to start subtracting.

But Zhang Zhe had never seen someone like this woman, who played the game with addition.

It had the same energy as when he once said his only requirement for a partner was ”must be female.”

”I just want to see what my upper limit is.” The woman, perceptive enough to notice Zhang Zhe’s slight annoyance, explained, ”I think the requirements I just listed were too low.”

”Could I find someone a little richer?”

”If I can find someone who makes 150,000, then if I reach a little higher and try a bit harder, I should be able to find someone who makes 200,000, right?”

”Or maybe I should package myself a little better? What about hitting the gym?”

[A woman like this is a bottomless pit. She’ll never be satisfied.]

[You can tell her family didn’t instill the right values in her. She doesn’t know the meaning of contentment.]

[I think it’s normal for a girl to want someone better. You guys don’t have to be so harsh.]

Zhang Zhe glanced at the live comments. He didn’t think the uncles and aunties speaking their minds were being harsh at all. On the contrary, their comments were spot-on.

This woman was a classic case of ”the more you get, the more you want.”

The requirements she’d listed at the start were clearly prepared in advance, not something she came up with on the spot. But the moment she confirmed they were within her reach, she was no longer satisfied.

Anyone who understands marriage knows that an insatiable appetite is a terrifying thing in a marriage or a relationship.

If you encounter someone with no moral bottom line, you get a Chen Shimei type.

And if you encounter one who *does* have a moral bottom line, they’ll just spend all day at home complaining endlessly.

When you meet someone like that, it’s best to stay far, far away.

”What do you consider ’rich’?” Zhang Zhe asked, tilting his head. ”An annual salary of 500,000? Or 1,000,000?”

”500,000 would be enough.”

”Making 500,000 a year means they’re already quite successful. Why would someone like that be interested in you? At Changsha housing prices, they could earn enough for an apartment in two years.”

Zhang Zhe didn’t know much about Changsha, but he’d once heard about a female streamer who managed to sleep her way into an apartment in a second-tier city in just one year. He later found out it was in the capital of Xiang Province, where an apartment only cost about 1,000,000.

”I don’t think marriage should be all about money. Didn’t you just say my family wouldn’t be a burden to the man?”

”That just shows you have no experience with blind dates.” Zhang Zhe waved his hand dismissively. ”Only poor people worry about whether you’re a ’burden.’ For people with some financial means, they’re looking for a ’boost.’”

”They consider the support their partner’s family can provide.”

”A boost in business, politics, education—in any number of areas.”

”You definitely can’t count on your father’s side for anything. Your mother is just an accountant, so she can’t help much. And then there’s you...”

”What about me? I’m amazing!” the woman retorted, clearly triggered.

Zhang Zhe quickly shut his mouth and didn’t continue.

Otherwise, his face would be all over Xiaohongshu by tomorrow.

”To a successful person, you’re not outstanding enough. Your finances and your family don’t match up. If you’re really set on finding someone like that, you’ll have to lower your standards.” Zhang Zhe added pointedly, ”You’ll have to tolerate things that women more exceptional than you won’t.”

”Even with all this, I still have to lower my standards?” the woman said, dejected. ”I can’t possibly go for a 50-year-old, can I? He’d be as old as my dad!”

[Why not? Brother Dong would like a word.]

[Her height requirement alone screens out half the men in Changsha, and now she wants an annual salary of 500,000. You call those standards not high?]

[Sis, don’t believe him! There was a 40-year-old widow in our village who refused to settle, and in the end, she married a prince from Dubai!]

[500,000 is a bit much. It’d probably be easier if you asked for less money.]

Zhang Zhe wasn’t being passive-aggressive like the commenters.

That kind of sarcasm requires talent; otherwise, everyone would be a stand-up comedian.

Zhang Zhe wasn’t the naturally gifted type. His main selling point was honesty.

Especially since the system had already given him intel:

[High-Value Intel]

[Warning!!!]

[The Host’s blind date is a classic gold digger. With an annual income of only 50,000, she is already fantasizing about a marriage partner who makes 500,000. Host, you are no match for her. Please be careful!]

[A perfect marriage requires steering clear of demanding women. Host, please avoid this risk immediately!]

If this were happening offline, he’d run for the hills the moment he met a blind date like this.

Because with her personality, you could tell she was the type to show up to a date with nothing but her mouth. Going on a date with her would be a guaranteed financial loss.

Fortunately, there was still an internet connection separating Zhang Zhe from the woman.

’Online, me, avoid a confrontation with her?’

Zhang Zhe wanted to say, ’I’m the kind of guy who makes 30,000 a month and wants to find an 80-year-old billionaire sugar mama. When it comes to dreaming big and making wishes, you think I’m scared of her?’

But on second thought, guys talking about landing a sugar mama were mostly just talking big. Anyone who could actually bring himself to call an 80-year-old woman ’baby’ was a ruthless person destined for greatness—like Kelon Ma, for instance.

Swap the genders, though, and it wasn’t strange at all.

If an 80-year-old rich man wanted to remarry, the line of potential candidates would be long enough to wear down his doorstep.

Seeing that Zhang Zhe had gone silent, the woman on the call took the initiative to ask:

”Hello, streamer? Say something. If I have to lower my standards, by how much?”

”A 50-year-old is a definite no. The age gap can’t be that big. If I ended up with an old man, my friends would laugh at me even if he was rich.”

[Stupid, just don’t let your friends find out.]

[Your friends definitely don’t want to see you living a good life. As long as you can stomach it, 50 isn’t that old. He’s still got over a decade until retirement.]

[Be an old man’s little princess and never suffer again.]

”If you’re going to be strict about age, then your only option is a divorcé with kids,” Zhang Zhe could only think of one scenario. ”If you can show you have the potential to be a stepmother, then you might have a chance.”

”A stepmother? No, no way. I don’t even have kids of my own, how could I possibly take care of a child I’m not related to by blood? I can’t do it.”

”This won’t work, that won’t work.” Zhang Zhe was speechless. ”Then you really can’t find anyone.”

”Why not?”

”Because the requirements you’ve added don’t match what you bring to the table.”

”How do they not match? I want to marry a rich man, what’s wrong with that? Does that mean I’m stuck with either an old man or a divorcé with kids?”

”I don’t believe it! I think you’re the problem, Mr. Matchmaker!”

The woman suddenly started questioning Zhang Zhe:

”I had my doubts when the other girls were on the call earlier, and now I have to say it.”

”You call yourself a Matchmaker, but you haven’t even found a wife for yourself.”

”I saw the profile you have on screen. With those stats, it should be incredibly easy to find someone. The fact that you’re 30 and still not married... are you a misogynist?”

”That would explain everything.”

”So that’s why you were putting down all the girls on the call earlier? You deliberately said all those harsh things to satisfy some kind of twisted desire, didn’t you?”

[Sis, you’re so woke!]

[Oh no, she figured it out. This is a misogynist’s stream.]

[Thank you, sis. Suddenly, everything is clear to me.]

[If you knew the streamer was a misogynist, why did you come on? Are you a masochist?]

”Are the stats on the screen that good?” Zhang Zhe pretended to glance at his screen and nodded. ”You’re right. If I had those stats, I probably wouldn’t be interested in you either.”

”My apologies. This piece of swan meat must have been too much for a toad like you.”

”My mistake. I wasn’t being considerate enough.” Zhang Zhe made a show of hiding the text on his screen, then asked her, ”Is that better? Now there are no stats for you to feel unworthy of.”

”What do you mean, unworthy? I am worthy!”

”Alright, alright, you’re worthy. It’s my fault for being unprofessional. In that case, how about this: you go to another matchmaking agency, find another matchmaker, and have them find you an unmarried man under 35, at least 178 cm tall, with an annual income over 500,000. Then, convince him to marry you.”

”After you get married, come back to my stream, and I’ll give you a huge red envelope and beg you to forgive me for being so blind. How does that sound?”

Zhang Zhe felt no pressure saying this. Even if the government started implementing mandatory spouse assignments, a match fitting this woman’s requirements would never be assigned to her.

”Hmph, forget it.” The woman huffed angrily. ”I don’t need your apology. I’m going to expose you so all the other girls can steer clear.”
