Pillar of Yita

With her ’Papa’s’ abilities, facing four opponents head-on was not an unwinnable battle. Although she didn’t quite understand why ’Papa’ was taking his time, the little girl believed there was an unspoken truth in this world — as long as it was ’Papa’s’ decision, it must be right. Moreover, since Sister Tata hadn’t spoken yet, she wasn’t in a hurry at all.

Fang Hong was actually luring the enemy deeper, and he still had the leisure to pay attention to the movements of Count Nulman and the middle-aged arcanist nearby. When he saw that the arcanist finally couldn’t hold back and raised his Magic Guided Wand once again, he knew — his chance had come.

He suddenly lifted his right hand high —

Like a star in the darkness, displayed against the sky.

One by one, light arrays appeared on the corridor, showing a silver spindle shape, slowly emerging from them.

Due to not yet fully mastering the characteristics of this new construct, the compressed calculative power required still reached as much as half, twenty points. At the moment, his remaining calculative power was over one hundred sixty, allowing him to control eight of them.

The knight who saw this scene was taken aback and subconsciously withdrew his sword and stepped back. Three Sword Bearers, plus that strange construct behind which had been of no use whatsoever, were already multi-control — and not the flashy multi-control common people thought of when talking about the Clockwork Fairy — but real same-level constructs.

Yet the opponent still had reserves: what exactly was this?

When Count Nulman saw those silver ’Wasps,’ a trace of unease flashed through his mind. He drew his sword for the first time, taking a step forward — Fang Hong saw clearly that the opponent’s sword was hidden within the cane, long and sharp, flickering with a gleam like a snake’s tongue in the darkness.

Nulman lowered his sword, standing in front of the middle-aged arcanist.

At this moment, while the knights hadn’t reacted yet, Fang Hong had already pointed forward across the Energy Angel, and the silver bee swarm whizzed overhead, heading straight for the middle-aged arcanist.

This was the opportunity he had waited for:

If he truly wanted to escape, these four Bain Knights might not be able to stop him. But the real potential danger was Count Nulman behind and the middle-aged arcanist beside him. Especially the latter, whose anchoring spell previously caught Fang Hong off guard. Learning from past mistakes, Fang Hong obviously wouldn’t fall into the same pit twice.

The middle-aged arcanist’s expression finally changed.

He saw the knights always tangled with Fang Hong, maintaining their advantage. And in a three versus one situation, how could someone so young be a match for three knights? At this age, handling four constructs already far exceeded common imagination, even if Fang Hong admitted he only used half of his calculative power (including Tata, it was less than half), they probably wouldn’t believe it.

Under these circumstances, he felt safe to start chanting a spell. But since he was halfway through chanting, he naturally couldn’t stop easily, or else the Ether backlash would turn the spell meant for the enemy against himself.

Watching the approaching silver light, the middle-aged arcanist felt his scalp about to explode.

He didn’t even know whether to worry about his safety or wonder why the opponent could control so many constructs at once.

”Stay calm,” Nulman said in a deep voice. ”It’s just a Clockwork Fairy, don’t let the opponent disrupt your thoughts.”

Unfortunately, staying calm didn’t necessarily mean being correct.

As soon as he finished speaking, reality slapped him in the face. The silver Clockwork Fairy paused mid-air, and suddenly a flash of flame appeared.

Fortunately, the count reacted quickly, blocking with his sword, with a loud clang as sparks flew by. He felt the sword blade tremble, redirecting the bullet in another direction.

Then the continuous booming of gunshots echoed in the corridor, as three ’Hornet- I’ hovered mid-air, spitting out tongues of flame, the bullets raining down like a storm onto Nulman and the middle-aged arcanist.

Although Nulman hadn’t figured out why the Clockwork Fairy could attack, his confusion didn’t slow down his movements.

The Governor’s rapier danced into a silver veil, barely blocking most bullets aimed at him and the arcanist behind him. The ones he couldn’t block forced him to step back, pulling the arcanist with him, letting the bullets strike the floor, drawing a long fiery line.

But Nulman immediately realized the situation was not good. Although he hadn’t felt too strained blocking this barrage, the rapier in his hand was clearly unsuitable for such an occasion, fearing it might break after a few more rounds. What’s more, when he looked up, his heart sank — besides the three silver spindle-shaped Clockwork Fairies in the front, the remaining five were spreading out to the sides.

When they swooped in from the sides to attack, what would they use to block?

Not only was he hesitant, but the Bain Knights at the front also seemed caught in a dilemma upon seeing this, unsure whether to turn back to assist. Their hesitation naturally affected their movements, causing the attack to stall.

The Governor’s mind raced, realizing it was impossible to achieve everything. He immediately made a decision, suddenly shouting: ”Forget about this side, capture him.”

He decisively abandoned the middle-aged arcanist behind, flashing forward and exposing the terror-stricken man. A volley of bullets immediately washed over Nulman, striking the arcanist’s shield, causing a mana shock that abruptly stopped his incantation.
