Pillar of Yita

A bright sword light suddenly appeared in the darkness. With a clang, the leading Bain Knight looked in astonishment as the curved blade in his hand slipped out and spun backward.

He stood empty-handed on the spot, staring at the platinum swordsman that appeared out of nowhere, still unable to believe that he had been disarmed by this unexpected strike.

The other three knights arrived at this moment as well.

The Energy Angel’s platinum blade feet gently touched the ground, tracing an arc forward. The magic field produced by the Guy Generator created a distinctly visible vortex of dust on the ground.

The three Energy Angels turned in unison, facing the approaching knights.

Fang Hong propped himself up against the wall and struggled to stand. Yet, there was no trace of defeat in his chest; instead, his eyes were filled with a high-spirited fighting intent. Since a battle was inevitable, he might as well fight with all his might. From Idus to this place, he had grown significantly and needed a grand battle to prove it.

The knights also came to an abrupt halt, seemingly understanding the unspoken meaning—this construct swordsman’s agility and swordsmanship were clearly something they were wary of.

They recognized this as a flexible construct from the Combat Artisan—a variant of the Sword Bearer. But the face of this youth was so impossibly young that it was hard to believe. There were already three constructs here; where exactly did those guys find such a person? Count Nulman glanced at the middle-aged Arcanist. The latter’s expression was a bit off—Ebene hadn’t mentioned this when he brought the person.

”It seems the Eye of Revelation has improved significantly over the years.”

The middle-aged Arcanist’s face shifted between shades, realizing the other was teasing. Such talent couldn’t possibly remain obscure within the Artisan Association. He muttered, ”We never intended to do much to these people.”

”You can’t do much now; instead, they’ve taken off with your airship,” Nulman replied blandly. ”Think about how to deal with the aftermath first.”

The latter seemed like a gambler who had lost everything, glaring and saying, ”In any case, capture this person first—”

Nulman chuckled softly. ”This time, don’t let them get away again.”

”Your Excellency the Governor, now isn’t the time for idle talk.”

The middle-aged Arcanist’s face darkened.

But Nulman didn’t mind, instead talking to himself, ”The princess didn’t find simple people.”

The middle-aged Arcanist was startled and then gradually became serious. As the other person said, such a genius wouldn’t come to Istania for no reason. Although the locals took pride in the Silver Sand Sea, they wouldn’t deceive themselves. Istania was a borderland compared to Colin Ishurian.

Unless one were indigenous or had special reasons, why would anyone come here without cause?

In this case, the princess’s preparation for this matter seemed to be more thorough and profound than they imagined.

...

Meanwhile, Fang Hong certainly didn’t understand that these two not far away had completely misunderstood, thinking they were talented individuals specially invited by Princess Rupert from Colin Ishurian.

He only guessed that the waiting of the Bain Knights had reached its limit and they were about to act because four against three, they still held the advantage. Moreover, he couldn’t wait any longer; time was a fleeting opportunity for him. The Bain Knights on the distant rooftop, realizing they couldn’t catch up with the Dawood, had already started to turn back.

With a light clang, the knights gripped their curved blades with both hands.

At that moment, Fang Hong’s left hand also drew back, summoning the Sea Monster construct.

Another one? Nulman’s eyebrows slightly raised, and the knights were also taken aback. But with the bowstring drawn, there was no turning back. They immediately leaned forward, gripping their curved blades tightly, letting out a low roar as they launched an assault. Fang Hong’s left hand pulled back while he pointed forward with his right hand, and the three Energy Angels responded simultaneously, moving to intercept them.

The knight who had lost his sword wasn’t to be outdone, rushing in barehanded. Fang Hong noticed this and slightly redirected a thought, sending one Energy Angel to block him. Yet, the remaining two Energy Angels, faced with a two-against-three situation, could only retreat step by step. Amid the crossing sword lights, several prominent sword marks quickly formed on their shells.

Although the defense line could hold momentarily, on the system panel, the durability of the Energy Angels was steadily decreasing. With the damage, their functions would further decline. If he didn’t come up with a solution, the domino effect was imminent.

The knights clearly sensed this as well.

They exchanged a glance, synchronizing their movements, intending to break through Fang Hong’s defense as quickly as possible.

But they obviously didn’t understand that the young man before them still had a lot of spare power. Back on Fenris Isle, controlling three Energy Angels was Fang Hong’s limit, even needing to use Miss Tata’s ability. Yet from then until now, his calculative power had increased more than threefold. The computational demands of three Energy Angels were only a small part of his total calculative power.

Even with the Sea Monster construct, it barely surpassed half. And a calculative power requirement over half was really no burden for a professional artisan.

Moreover, he had Miss Dragon Soul—two of them.

Tata was not visible at the moment, and the invisible Nini was sitting on ’Papa’s shoulder, slightly bored watching the scene before her—not intervening, of course.
