Pillar of Yita

Lady Rand finally let out a cry: ”… What, what’s happening?”

Her cry was quite loud, naturally drawing everyone’s curiosity for a moment.

Luo Yu also stopped what he was doing and looked in this direction.

And Luo Hao was even more alert, immediately standing in front of the former.

”Lady Rand,” Nulman couldn’t help but frown, not understanding why this woman was so startled here. If the other side mistakenly believed that they had set some trap, causing Lavali any damage, he would certainly make this woman repent for her actions, ”Please be quiet.”

”But, but…” Normally, this plump lady would never dare to contradict His Excellency the Governor, but the scene before her was too bizarre, and she couldn’t help muttering: ”... What, what exactly is going on?”

Seeing this, Nulman frowned even more, thinking that this woman might have gone mad. Wasn’t the situation obvious? She had previously seemed to know, and now she was pretending otherwise. What was her reasoning? Normally, perhaps Lord Earl would be interested in digging into it, but at this juncture, he really didn’t have the patience.

He only impatiently waved his hand: ”Lady Rand is too worried, take her down to calm her down.”

”Wait a moment,” Luo Hao spoke up then—he certainly understood their current predicament. If possible, he actually wanted as little contact with the other side as possible, best to get the key, then take Gita, and leave this place aboard the Dawood Ship immediately. But there’s no way; the current situation was too bizarre, making him have to remain alert: ”May I ask what this is?”

”Nothing,” Nulman maintained his composure, but in his heart, he was equally tense: ”This is Lavali’s mother, she is just overly worried, a bit too nervous.”

”Really?”

”Of course, her name is Rand,” Nulman took a breath, and lowered his voice a little: ”You can ask the maidservant in the room to identify.”

Luo Hao furrowed his brow, his greatest wish now was, of course, to immediately return to the room and proceed to the next step of the plan, using that young lady as a cover to escort them to the Dawood Ship. Once they boarded, everything would be fine, even if the Dawood Ship had less than a ten percent chance of passing through the sandstorm once in the air.

But at least they could leave this place.

However, on the other hand, the current scenario indeed made him somewhat uneasy.

In that brief moment of hesitation, a soft, slightly puzzled voice came from behind the crowd: ”Father, what’s going on?”

This voice seemed like an incantation, causing the entire space to suddenly quiet down.

Everyone turned stiffly, as if under a puppet spell, towards the direction where the voice came. Nulman incredulously looked in that direction, at his daughter appearing in the corridor, who seemed a bit bewildered by the chaotic scene and was looking at her father and the gathered knights.

Until she saw Rand among the crowd, her expression changed slightly, and she stepped back a bit, instinctively wanting to run.

”Miss,” the plump Lady Rand, held by two knights, almost burst into tears upon seeing Lavali: ”You’ve finally appeared, do you know how worried I was about you?”

But a glimmer of realization flashed in Nulman’s eyes.

In that instant, he seemed to understand something, his expression changed urgently, and he said: ”Suofa, why are you here, why aren’t you going to sleep, we’ll handle your sister’s matters.”

Lavali was taken aback, her face showing a puzzling expression, as if wondering if her father was confused with anger, instinctively saying: ”What are you talking about, father, I don’t even have a sister… also, what did you call me?”

Out of concern, she explained: ”Father, I didn’t mean to… I just heard you were going to send Miss Gita out as a hostage, you promised me…”

Upon hearing this, Luo Hao’s expression changed dramatically, realizing they probably had a misunderstanding. Seeing Luo Yu still confounded and not comprehending what had happened, he couldn’t bother explaining, he pulled hard, and quickly retreated back into the room together with Luo Yu, then firmly closed the door.

Holding the door with one hand, he pushed Luo Yu forward, then shouted into the dark room: ”Ade, we’ve been tricked!”

Just as Luo Hao made his move, Count Nulman naturally reacted as well.

He didn’t have time to explain to his daughter and immediately turned back, shouting loudly: ”Catch them!”

His Excellency the Governor resembled a furious giant dragon as he issued orders to his knights. And the knights, aware of the situation, saw the young lady appear behind them and knew what had happened, instantly responding in unison, heading to the door.

The commotion outside evidently alarmed everyone in the room. Fang Hong and the others were fine, but the maidservants, realizing ’disaster loomed,’ couldn’t help crying and shouting, understanding that since the young lady was not here, His Excellency the Governor wouldn’t care about their fates.

If the knights broke in, these ’vicious’ Invokers might just ’tear the ticket.’

Thinking of this, these women felt even more despair, especially Little Limar, who almost cried into a ball—she only had two chances of resurrection left.

And the maids’ cries evidently moved Lavali outside. The young lady, aware of what was happening, couldn’t help but shout anxiously: ”Father, Lima is still inside!”

But unfortunately, a mere maidservant was not enough to make Numaner change his mind. He had previously had to bow to these ’villains’ because of his daughter, but now, having confirmed his daughter’s safety, his anger naturally surged, unstoppable like a torrent.

Not to mention the emperor’s commission, just the terrible mockery and offense by these Holy Choosers were enough for him to order everyone inside to be killed.

Without mercy, he made a strong gesture to his knights.
