Pillar of Yita

But what seemed logical was that this guy once showed extraordinary prowess; if people from the Shield of Lufu had a chance to escape, the likelihood of this person escaping was evidently much greater.

According to the map, Fang Hong finally found the passage leading to the city wall. The fortress’s terrain was indeed too complex, likely intentionally designed, with many similar scenes. If not relying on the map, they couldn’t be sure if they had just walked back to where they’d been.

However, this disguised Fang Hong’s previous mistakes, making the people from the Shield of Lufu think that the situation just now was also like this.

The passage traveled through the darkness.

This was actually already a part of the fortress’s barracks, but it was clearly not in the same direction as the outer area where they were previously imprisoned. Looking out towards the city wall, it seemed like a cliff’s edge, but outside, the windstorm was raging, dark and sunless. Many cannons were placed in the passage, all wrapped in cloth, likely to prevent damage from dust storms.

Yet due to the current dust storm, no one was visible here at the moment, only the wind sand blowing through the windows rampaging in the corridor. Everyone pulled up their hoods, hunching forward to advance, for raising the head slightly would invite sand into the collar and neck, preventing defense.

Fortunately, this path wasn’t long. After passing through the passage, a stone gate appeared ahead, and beyond the stone gate was an open-air city wall, with the tower leading to the Inner City vaguely visible at the other end of the wall.

Just Wu Xiaopang looked at that place, then at the bottom of the city wall under the howling wind, at the abyss below with only swirling sand and gravel, thinking if he unsteadily fell from the wall, it wouldn’t be as simple as a mere drop; saying it would leave a psychological shadow might be an understatement.

This place had few guards, but the environment was simply too harsh.

Is this a place for people to stay?

He turned back with a stutter: ”Boss, we’re not going to pass from there, are we?”

”Of course not.”

Fang Hong shook his head.

Wu Xiaopang let out a sigh of relief, thinking fortunately the boss wasn’t insane to such an extent.

But Fang Hong’s next words immediately shattered his fantasy: ”Of course, we can’t pass over the wall. You think no one is watching this direction? The Inner City’s defense will only be stricter than outside. We can’t walk on the wall; we have to pass from below.”

”Be... below?” Wu Xiaopang gasped, walked over, and leaned against the window hole to look outside, his face turning pale, wondering how to pass below?

Even though it’s only a dozen meters distance, with the current weather, even a bird would struggle to cross, let alone them.

”Of course, we’ll just pass this way.”

Fang Hong walked to the door, glanced outside — a few dozen meters distance, as long as they didn’t light a fire here, it should be hard for the people in the Inner City to see in this direction, but once approached, it would be different. He was almost certain that someone at the tower was watching the entrance, even if no one outside, there would be guards inside.

Moreover, it wasn’t quite like previous situations; it might be difficult for the Inner City to contact the Inner Court direction, but internally within the Inner City, communication should be easy to achieve. Just as he’d previously contacted Wu Xiaopang and others in the outer region using the Clockwork Fairy.

If he could think of these things, there’s no reason the other side couldn’t.

Thus, they must avoid any possible guards.

He stepped through the stone gate, the wind speed on the wall seemed to double instantly, the forceful gust tugged at his coat, almost blowing him off the wall. Startled, Fang Hong hastily stepped back, thinking he underestimated this storm, though he had faced more dangerous situations, so he wasn’t intimidated by mere sandstorm.

He said nothing, took off the Alchemist’s Coat, and handed it to Luo Yu: ”Hold this for me.”

Luo Yu looked at him, rarely reminding: ”Be careful.”

Luo Hao also asked: ”Do you need me to go? I’m an Iron Guard; my strength is much higher than yours, plus my equipment is heavier.”

But Fang Hong shook his head, this had to be done by him.

He wrapped his face with a towel, then pulled down the Wind Goggles, glanced out, crouched low, and dashed in that direction. The wind almost instantly threw him off balance, but Fang Hong calmly fell to reduce the resistance area, and with a roll approached the battlement.

But the danger evidently was just beginning; he cautiously stood up, glanced towards the tower, the cliff beneath the city wall was obviously not a flat mirror, in fact, there were many jagged protruding rocks. Seeing these rocks, Fang Hong finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He raised his hand and launched the Flying Claw in that direction.
