Pillar of Yita

At that moment, Fang Hong suddenly had a strange sensation in his heart.

It felt like something had suddenly appeared in his mind, like some bizarre symbols and patterns, as well as some alchemical formulas, which entered his world of thoughts without his permission.

Moreover, these things seemed to come alive, moving subconsciously with his thoughts. He was surprised to see an array emitting a slight ’black light’ rise between his hands—he wasn’t sure how to describe the glow of this array, as ’black light’ sounded somewhat eerie.

But in fact, this was exactly what Fang Hong was seeing at the moment.

After the array rose, it flickered once and then disappeared in an instant.

Fang Hong couldn’t even be sure if he was hallucinating because the array seemed to bring nothing, only for a moment did he feel a sense of peculiar, lively presence.

Yet it vanished into thin air in an instant. After this sudden event, Fang Hong felt his body getting heavier and seemed unable to think about these questions anymore—

Although he had earlier managed to grab the opponent’s sword, he was actually quite injured himself. The searing heat felt as though it evaporated all his blood, making it difficult even to stay conscious.

At this moment, he seemed to dully recall what the marks beneath the pit earlier were.

It was probably the traces left by that Flame Specter, but does Eteliria have such creatures? It seemed elemental, but from the information fed back from the Ring of Golden Flame, he clearly felt that it was a not entirely pure Dark Force.

Though impure, it was very powerful.

But it made sense, if it wasn’t powerful, how could it have pushed Miss Leia to that situation?

At this moment, the strange shadow of the flame and the Dragon Worship Sect’s messenger were both reduced to ash, and the forest finally fell into complete silence.

The last ray of sunlight had already disappeared, as the black night gradually enveloped Long Lake, the lakeside was bleak and cold.

Fang Hong felt darkness before his eyes, and his body swayed, almost falling to the ground. But a hand caught him, a hand emitting a silver glow, with strange patterns on the back of the hand that had not yet faded—Fang Hong now recognized it as Dragon’s Scale.

He struggled to lift his head and saw Anluose, who had reverted to elf form, supporting another person with the other hand, the Grand Commander of the Holy Word Knights—Miss Leia. She too seemed exhausted from the battle, now sleeping soundly.

She had that cute and sweet quality characteristic of Papalarian women—especially in sleep, appearing particularly serene. She was naturally of a serious disposition, which was the exact opposite of Parker, and at this moment, having fallen asleep, she exuded a peaceful beauty.

”Is Miss Leia alright?” he asked hoarsely.

”You should worry more about yourself,” Anluose replied, ”She’s just exhausted, but you’re in much more trouble.”

”Me? What’s wrong with me?” Fang Hong was groggy and didn’t realize what the problem was.

He glanced at the desolate lakeside and asked in a low voice, ”Are we going back to Summer’s End Tower, and what exactly were those things?” He was referring to the Flame Specters.

But Anluose shook his head without answering.

Instead, silver dragon wings unfurled from his back, and he said to Fang Hong, ”I will take you to Nevade, where the fairies will take care of you.”

He said it seriously, but Fang Hong always felt that was because Anluose looked entirely incapable of caring for people. Fang Hong had heard before that the owner of the Fairy Residence never interfered with the inn’s operations—in fact, apart from the Tower Guard’s duties, people rarely even saw the true owner in Nevade.

Typically, all daily affairs, including management and accounting, were handled by the fairies.

Though fairies often made mistakes with numbers and messed things up beyond recognition.

Yet even so, the inn’s owner would not easily show up.

With these strange and bizarre thoughts, Fang Hong’s eyelids grew heavier until even he didn’t know when he fell into a deep sleep.

...

When Fang Hong awoke again, he found himself still in the same room—the room located in the Fairy Residence in Nevade. He remembered that when he last indulged in sleep after drinking too much, it was in this room too.

He lay quietly in bed, looking at the natural patterns of the wood grain on the ceiling, the light outside the rose window was the soft morning light, indicating it was just after dawn. But Fang Hong calmed himself a little and guessed he hadn’t just slept for a single night.

He instinctively checked his condition first. Both the information returned from the system and his own feelings seemed fairly good. Everything that happened at Summer’s End Tower now felt like just a dream.

Luckily, the benefits he gained from the Hall of Thousand Doors were still accounted for in the system.

Otherwise, Fang Hong would almost believe he had merely dreamed a long dream.

But it was at this moment that Tata’s voice came from his ear: ”You’re awake, Mr. Knight.” Hearing this, Fang Hong instinctively turned his head and saw Miss Fairy sitting neatly, kneeling on the soft white pillow, watching him.

Miss Fairy just watched him, opened her mouth, and seemed to want to say something but stopped.
