Pillar of Yita

As the settling ground stopped, the waves of air continued forward, sweeping through the newly formed undead army behind them. These Level 30-40 undead summoned by the Shadow Staff were manageable, but the young man beside the Messenger vomited a mouthful of blood with a gurgling sound and was thrown back, crashing into a Vitex tree.

The Messenger turned his head and coldly observed the scene.

He then looked at Leiya and only then raised his Shadow Staff, making a peculiar gesture.

On the other side, Leiya’s offensive did not cease. The Female Knight Commander said nothing, merely lifting the Giant Shield slightly upward with both hands, then charged forward while bearing the shield. As the shield’s base remained in contact with the ground, it left a long trail of sparks along the slates.

In the twilight, it appeared like a fire dragon winding towards the Messenger.

The momentum was truly astounding, compelling the Messenger to step back, though his expression remained unchanged. After completing that gesture, he gently planted his Magic Wand into the ground—the shadow creatures on the battlefield seemed to come to a standstill, no longer engaging in close combat with Tang De’s undead.

Only a few Skeletons and Ghosts continued to approach the Female Knight Commander.

But before they could approach, the Longsword tucked behind Leiya’s shield unsheathed once again. Others couldn’t even see how she made her move; all they saw was the golden spark winding from side to side, suddenly each bursting into a light rain.

After the light rain subsided, the encircling undead were all cleaved at the waist three to four meters apart, falling horizontally and transforming into a blazing golden flame.

”Sword Before the Enemy...”

The young man lying under the Vitex tree almost groaned.

Revenge before the enemy, striking before the enemy.

In the national arena, there was only one person capable of using this move.

”It’s Holy September!” he couldn’t help but shout hoarsely, coughing loudly as he warned the Messenger in front: ”...Be careful, that’s the present-day Grand Commander of the Holy Word Knights.”

”Leiya Senar?”

”Cough, yes, it’s her.”

The Messenger appeared somewhat calm.

The Grand Commander of the Holy Word Knights is undoubtedly a Dragon Knight.

As for what kind of combat power a top Invoker in the Second World, a Dragon Knight, should have, at this moment, it was displayed to its fullest in front of both of them—and it wasn’t even everything yet—because the Dragon Knight had not appeared. Only the Messenger gently gripped the Shadow Staff in his hand, then looked up at his opponent.

In just an instant, Leiya was already not far from him.

This distance, for a melee profession and an Undead Wizard, was clearly extremely disadvantageous for the latter.

But at this moment, the Messenger simply lifted his hand slightly, pointing forward—in that instant, a sense of foreboding suddenly rose in Leiya’s heart, clearly not just an illusion, nor was it merely a keen intuition—it was an alert from the Dragon Knight Domain.

And at the same moment, the voice of the Dragon Soul also resounded in her mind, somewhat stiffly: ”Be careful, Miss Knight.” Leiya came to an abrupt stop and, taking the opportunity, spun the Giant Shield in her hand and threw it forward. The Giant Shield soared towards the Messenger, whistling through the air as several gazes followed its flight.

But suddenly, a violet-black flame flared at the place indicated by the Messenger. That flame rose and, in an instant, assumed a humanoid form, wielding a sharp axe.

Leiya saw clearly, the fire-formed humanoid was clearly a Dwarf with a full beard, roaring angrily. The flames even etched out the equipment on its body—a set of heavy scale armor, topped with a horned helmet, and a bright anvil emblem on the sharp axe in its hand.

For a moment, she couldn’t recall where she had seen this emblem, but instinctively it felt familiar, while a huge sense of unease also welled up inside her—this unease naturally also came from the warnings of the Dragon Knight Domain and the Dragon Soul. The next moment, the Dwarf struck her Giant Shield flying, then slightly crouched—instantly, it vanished from her vision.

Leiya was slightly stunned.

This was something she had never encountered before.

But just then, Tang De’s warning came from behind: ”Watch out, behind!”

Only then did the Female Knight Commander react, realizing that what remained in her vision was merely an afterimage—at this moment, a shrill whistling wind sound was already screeching from behind her—and Leiya could almost determine the deformation of the axe blade in the air just by the sound.

How could it be so fast?

Without her shield in hand, Leiya frowned and could only reverse her grip on her sword to block it.

But upon blocking, the Legendary Longsword in her hand emitted a cracking sound. She only felt a tremendous force coming from behind, and then the sword in her hand shattered into pieces, scattering like blossoms in the air. Fortunately, she was clad in heavy armor, or this strike would have severely injured her.

Even so, Leiya was not unharmed, stumbling a few steps forward under the force and then looking incredulously at the Broken Sword in her hand.

This Legendary Longsword was not considered a top-tier equipment, but since entering the Second World, it had accompanied her for many years. She had faced countless top experts, but it had never been damaged in swordplay.

Unexpectedly, with just the first strike, the sword shattered completely.

She looked back at the purple fire creature, a being she had never encountered in her memory—what on earth was this? Why would such an existence appear in the First World?

This was clearly inconsistent with her knowledge.

Leiya merely wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, then reached out and caught the returning Giant Shield, instinctively preparing to summon her Dragon Knight. This purple fire surely matched the level of a Dragon Knight creature, and without giving her all, she would have difficulty matching it in battle.

But just at this moment, her actions froze.

Because the Messenger swiftly moved his hands, summoning two more similar violet fire creatures nearby—this time, they appeared to be a tall and a short figure, seemingly a human male and female, rather than a Dwarf from before.

Far away, the Sorcerer-Ghoul Tang De watched this scene without saying a word, nor cared for his summoned three-headed giant hound, turned and fled down the other side of the Summer’s End Tower ruins, leaving the Female Regiment Commander of the Holy Word Knights alone in that place.
