Pillar of Yita

At the moment Fang Hong appeared, Leiya’s face suddenly changed, and she shouted softly: ”Watch out!”

Fang Hong’s reaction was remarkably quick. As he turned his head, he was startled to find a humanoid figure made of purple-black flames had appeared right before him. Its slender form vaguely resembled a woman’s appearance. ’She’ was emitting a strange, fluctuating sound while raising a sword to stab at him. Fang Hong barely had time to see a flash of fire before a thin, flame-like tongue of fire pierced straight into his chest.

It wasn’t terribly painful, merely a prick like a needle, but then a wave of scorching heat swept over his entire body, as if he was engulfed in a sea of fire.

”Ade!” Leiya shouted, disregarding the messenger behind her, she threw the great shield in her hand in the direction—it spun and struck the flame specter, its sharp edge slicing off most of its head before embedding with a ’thud’ into a nearby Vitex tree.

But it was of no use; the flames just flickered and the flame specter returned to its original form.

’She’ turned her head towards Leiya, baring her mouth as if to emit a silent mockery.

Yet suddenly, ’she’ could not laugh anymore.

Because in Leiya’s astonished gaze—although Fang Hong knelt on the ground, with the sword tip against his chest, it had only pierced in by three or four inches—blood flowed out, evaporating into mist. However, he clenched his teeth, raising his head.

He stared at the flame specter with dark, deep eyes.

A hand—or rather, a pitch-black, eerie metal glove—steadily caught hold of the opponent’s blade.

The blade, which was merely an ever-shifting flame, was dimming and dissolving in his hand, as if an invisible force field was spreading from his hand. Not only that, the stray flames were not returning to the strange shadow’s body.

But instead seemed to be drawn by an invisible force, with each flickering spark tracing an arc towards Fang Hong’s collar. It was as if there was a black hole there, swallowing all the flames and magic power into that place.

But only Fang Hong and Tata knew what was there.

Leiya, however, was utterly astonished.

Meanwhile, Fang Hong suddenly felt overwhelmed with trouble, as he could distinctly sense something residing in his spirit world awakening—it was undoubtedly ’feeding’ again, just like the previous two times. But what troubled Fang Hong even more was the increasingly clear knocking he felt in his mind world.

It seemed as if it would break out of its shell at any moment—

The magic power contained in this flame before him was incredibly astonishing, seemingly rivaling the fragmented soul of Nikopolas, or even a fragment of Toragotos or a wisp of the Lizardman Deity’s divine strength. Yet, he couldn’t let go right now, or before the thing within his mind world took shape, this flame monster would take his life first.

Just as Fang Hong found himself in this dilemma,

the flame specter also sensed unease, ’She’ felt not only was her sword affected, but even her entire form started becoming unstable. ’She’ finally panicked and seemed to want to withdraw the sword and retreat.

Immediately, however, the flame creature showed an expression of ’despair’.

Because ’she’ discovered that not only could Fang Hong’s pitch-black metal glove firmly grip ’her’ insubstantial flamesword, but also the attraction coming from the other party’s collar made it completely impossible for her to move.

’She’ anxiously let out a shriek.

The scream sounded like the wild wind sweeping across a sea of fire, bringing forth a piercing whistle.

But unfortunately—

For the Dragon Worship Sect’s ’messenger’ not far away, this scene was completely obscured, and he could not see through Anluose—or Mierliu Ximi Si and Leiya to what was happening here.

He only heard the flame specter’s shriek and saw everyone’s attention focused on Fang Hong, assuming he had succeeded. He quietly raised the cracked Shadow Staff, ready to cast a sinister spell. But at that moment, the messenger was dumbfounded to see Mierliu Ximi Si looking back at him.

The Cloud Dragon’s elegant, long neck and beautiful dragon head looked to the messenger like nothing but a shadow of death, and its silver eyes seemed veiled in clouds and mist, silently watching him. The movement of the messenger’s hands froze, almost causing the Shadow Staff to slip into the lake.

His scalp tingled, and he turned to flee.

However, Mierliu Ximi Si had already spread its wings in a single motion, its silver wings seeming to cast a shadow over the forest, leaping up silently like a ghost flying over the Female Knight Commander’s head, landing right on the messenger’s escape path, the water stirred up already sweeping him back.

The messenger choked on some water before he, like a drowned rat, coughed and struggled to stand.

But Mierliu Ximi Si would not give him the chance.

Sweeping silver claw strokes cut through, so swift that the messenger couldn’t even utter a wail before being severed in two, falling into the lake. Yet, after his death, no blood flowed—only black smoke emanated, like a drop of ink spreading into the lake.

Mierliu Ximi Si didn’t even spare a glance at this scene, merely turning back. Upon the messenger’s death, the dwarf-like flame creature and the flame creature of the human male it had slain earlier both had their fragmented flames fall upon the lake surface, still burning for a moment.

Yet quickly, they became nothingness, extinguished away.

However, the flame specter near Fang Hong persisted for a moment longer before it was entirely absorbed by the Ring of Golden Flame tied around his chest with a string.
