Pillar of Yita

In the world behind this door, he had seen many similar tricks, so he was not surprised anymore.

However, what the Tower Guard wanted to show him was obviously not this. Anluose did nothing excessive, not even closing his eyes to immerse himself in the system of the craftsman like the other Holy Chosen. The Mithril swiftly changed shape in his hands.

Finally, it transformed into a seemingly ordinary longsword.

The longsword looked like a mass-produced item commonly seen in blacksmith shops, for which you only needed to pay several Lsl to acquire such a sword from any blacksmith shop in Eteliria.

Even its name was as unimaginative as could be: Longsword.

In Fang Hong’s perception, this was a whiteboard weapon, abundant and ubiquitous. What left him dumbfounded was the bracket after the words Longsword, within which the content was:

Magic Guided Conductor, Equipment Level, S+

Fang Hong couldn’t help but gape, for in this world, such a description could only belong to one thing—a Legendary Creation. But how could a Legendary Creation be so simply named ’Longsword,’ without any special name?

Moreover, this sword, in every aspect, did not qualify as legendary. It was akin to his ’Dawn,’ sharing an intricate similarity. If there were anything legendary about this sword, it would be its absolute legendary level in terms of statistics.

Whether it be the attack, additional attribute values, or the level of the skill plugins.

But—

Before Fang Hong could fully absorb his shock, he saw the longsword continue to change in the hand of the Tower Guard. It became a combat axe, then a dagger, and after two or three transformations, it disintegrated into silver dust due to structural point damage.

Anluose passed his palm over, letting the silver dust scatter down from his hand.

By this point, Fang Hong had already been petrified beside him.

Because every time the longsword changed, whether it became a combat axe or a dagger, it retained one fixed attribute—it was still a legendary weapon.

But Fang Hong could confirm that Legendary Inspiration could never be used repeatedly on the same piece of equipment, forging it again and again into another legendary equipment. This was not merely a question of the craftsman’s proficiency but related to the fundamental laws of this world.

In simple terms, it was not permitted.

Anluose then lifted his head and asked him, ”Isn’t it strange?”

Fang Hong nodded like a pecking chicken.

”Actually, it’s nothing much,” Anluose answered, ”This is exactly why that ancient school was lost, because the Numelin craftsmen discovered that legendary forging didn’t necessarily require Legendary Inspiration. So searching for Legendary Inspiration became an unnecessary pursuit.”

These words left Fang Hong greatly astonished, forging legendary equipment without Legendary Inspiration.

How could this be contrary to his understanding?

But Anluose was unmoved, he simply asked, ”Is it strange?”

Fang Hong nodded again.

The Tower Guard shook his head, ”I asked you before, when you created your first Legendary Creation, did you not use Legendary Inspiration? Do you remember how you replied to me?”

Fang Hong was stunned.

Though it was indeed something that happened, he had never considered it from this aspect, why a craftsman, during their first legendary item forging, could do so without consuming Legendary Inspiration? Seeing his contemplative look, Anluose knew he had grasped the key point and thus began to speak:

”It’s normal if you can’t understand, because very few do, I just gave you an example, but for you to truly achieve it is almost impossible.”

”Why?” Fang Hong instinctively asked.

”Because your level is too low,” Anluose said calmly.

Fang Hong was left speechless.

He had imagined all kinds of answers, but he hadn’t thought this would be as truthful as it was—yes, what could be more convincing than a level too low? Fortunately, he wasn’t too dense, and heard the implications in the Tower Guard’s words, realizing he wasn’t speaking without purpose.

Sure enough, Anluose continued, ”So you think you know enough about the craftsman’s profession?” He shook his head, ”In actuality, it’s far from it, you’ve only just begun.”

He looked up at the vast white field and replied, ”So you have reached this place, but you’ve only arrived at a starting point.”

Then the Tower Guard lowered his head, looked at Fang Hong, and asked, ”So now I ask you, do you want to further understand the essence of the Alchemist profession?”

Fang Hong, attracted by the other’s description, couldn’t help but nod unconsciously.

”Very well,” Anluose nodded, ”Though no one knows what the last challenge in the Hall of Thousand Doors is, since you’ve reached here, you have, at least, qualified to accept my challenge.”

He paused, then said, ”But my challenge differs from that of the Hall of Thousand Doors, rather than a test, it is to impart some relevant knowledge of the Numelin era to you—this knowledge may not necessarily suit you, but whether it does or doesn’t, you’ll only have this one chance.”

Fang Hong couldn’t help but be stunned.

He did not expect such a gift after passing the Hall of Thousand Doors’ test.

Beyond the Stargate, learning from the natives’ mystics was not an easy task. Judging by Anluose’s previously shown capabilities, the latter was incredibly advanced in the way of the Alchemist.

The scene where he casually forged a legendary item still left a deep impression on his mind.

He couldn’t help blurting out, ”Mr. Tower Guard, do you really intend to teach me your alchemy?”

”You want to learn my alchemy?” Anluose shook his head, ”Unfortunately, of course not, for no one can learn someone else’s alchemy, and it’s especially so between you and me. Can mortals learn the Numelin Elves’ alchemy? Can Wizards learn the Dragons’ magic?”

He shook his head again, ”They cannot, because different people have different understandings of Ether and alchemy. And between mortals and Elves, and Dragons, there is a vast difference; what Dragons and Numelin Elves can do, mortals almost certainly cannot. Therefore, throughout one’s life, what a person can learn and perfect is ultimately only their own alchemy, do you understand?”

Fang Hong nodded, half-understanding.

Yet, he couldn’t help but ask, ”But if mortals cannot learn the Numelin Elves’ alchemy, how do you intend to convey the alchemy of the Numelin era to me, Mr. Tower Guard?”

”That is your matter,” Anluose replied, ”Moreover, what I impart to you won’t be knowledge and insights, but techniques.”

”Techniques?”

”Yes,” the former nodded, ”I will teach you ten techniques, all originating from the era of the Numelin Elves, each technique will be taught over a month, but if you fail once, the teaching will end there.”

”Wait.”

Fang Hong suddenly sensed a discrepancy.

Each technique needs a month to teach, with a total of ten techniques.

Then the question arises, just how long will he need to stay here?
