Pillar of Yita

As Fang Hong stepped forward, the Sanctified Forge Hall and Kapuka’s phantom behind him both crumbled and shattered.

Just as he pushed open the door, he saw a slight flicker of white light ahead. The Cold Iron Claws—Pride of the Lonely King, which he had forged with his own hands, once again appeared before him. This legendary glove was completely darkened, its surface covered in razor-sharp reverse scales, now floating in the void, far more chilling than it had been under the lamplight.

Fang Hong couldn’t help but be slightly taken aback.

He initially thought he wouldn’t be able to take this item with him, but now it seemed this was the reward for passing through the seventh Red Gate. This was indeed an unexpected delight. Fang Hong couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow—the inspiration for the Pride of the Lonely King came from himself, but the materials used, which were quite expensive, came from the world behind the door—if he were to gather them himself, who knows how long it would take.

He stepped forward and took down the gloves.

The Pride of the Lonely King was forged by his own hands; no one understood this legendary Magic Guided Conductor better than he did.

Fang Hong inserted his hand into the gloves, his palm and fingers aligning with the crystals inside. Each scale of the cold iron gloves retracted, covering his forearm, as an eerie sensation responded in kind—as if a chilling wind had passed by, the Ancient Monarch once again brushed past him.

He raised his head to take in his surroundings, but nothing seemed different.

Because that wasn’t reality; it was the will of a legendary equipment. The moment he put on the gloves, Fang Hong immediately felt Ether Magic Power repelling and distancing from his side. As he raised his head and gently clenched his hand, the gloomy Dragon’s Claw slightly retracted in his grasp.

At the same moment—

An invisible ripple was spreading out from the realm of Ether.

This was indeed one of the main attributes of the Pride of the Lonely King, magic repulsion.

It was like an ancient and solitary monarch, or like the proud and rebellious magic attribute of cold iron, rejecting all positive and negative magic effects imposed by others—as long as they weren’t permanent or semi-permanent, they couldn’t be applied to its wearer.

Unless the effect originated from within itself.

And not every legendary equipment possesses legendary attributes, just as the Dawn Fang Hong gave to Elisa merely had more flamboyant attributes.

But legendary attributes are always related to legendary inspiration. When the inspiration of solitude aligns with the designer’s intent, this attribute naturally emerges on these gloves.

Thus, the magic repulsion of the Pride of the Lonely King was not intentionally crafted by Fang Hong.

It is simply how an aloof monarch ought to be.

Looking at the attributes on this glove, Fang Hong couldn’t help but smile wryly; by wearing these gloves, he truly became a lone man—for the magic repulsion stipulates that the wearer cannot receive any beneficial buffs from others—this is akin to the description of the Pride of the Lonely King:

’The solitary monarch requires nothing from others—’

However, a powerful downside also brings about a powerful benefit, for the magic repulsion not only nullifies positive effects but also negative effects, which at his level is almost akin to immunity to all control.

Of course, the Pride of the Lonely King is, after all, only a Level 17 legendary glove, and Fang Hong is well aware that its repulsion capability must have limits—but it won’t be at Level 20, nor at Level 30, perhaps even beyond Level 35.

But regardless of whether it is Level 35 or Level 40, these gloves are sufficient to allow him to protect himself in most situations in the First World, without fearing others’ conspiracies. Unless faced with big shots like Odin, he can basically walk unchallenged.

Meanwhile, magic repulsion has a fixed affix, a 50% chance to ignore shields.

This is a common attribute of all such equipment, so these cold iron gloves are also a killer of wizards. Fang Hong can confidently say to Magic Guided Conductors, Elementalists, and Natural Historians, even fellow Alchemists—if I punch, you might die.

Moreover, the attack of the Pride of the Lonely King itself is not low; it reaches the baseline white attack standard of Magic Guided Conductors at this level, far surpassing his original Control Gloves by several times.

After all, this is legendary equipment.

Next come Evasion Sensing and Preemptive Strike.

These are the skill combinations Fang Hong himself chose—the former is a passive ability that allows the user to greatly reduce the consumption of evasion value and balance value when passively evading, which can also be seen as indirectly increasing evasion ability.

He chose this skill mainly to complement his ’Talk of the Stars’ ability and the silver pocket watch given to him by Miss Ship’s Officer.

After all, both of these are abilities and equipment related to evasion.

As for Preemptive Strike, it’s an accuracy-enhancing ability. When actively activated, it lasts about six seconds, during which it provides an ability similar to a swordsman’s ’Sword Reading,’ achieving the effect of striking before the enemy.

This is one of the few tricks Fang Hong envied most after sparring with Odin.

However, ’Sword Reading’ is an advanced swordsman skill, and he is unlikely to invest so many skills and experience in the swordsman profession, so ’Preemptive Strike’ is merely a cheap substitute after weighing options—it lasts for a shorter time and has a weaker effect.

And the cost of acquisition is, naturally, lower too.

These two skill plugin sets are both fairly practical, though they are uncommon on Construct Lords, appearing more frequently on the path of the Supreme Ones. But since Fang Hong is becoming increasingly diverse in his studies, moving further along the path of being jacks-of-all-trades, he’s no longer concerned with such small details.
