Pillar of Yita

It seems Fang Hong is probably the first to have the leisure to investigate his own Clockwork Fairy in his hand. But in fact, Fang Hong is not only interested in the Clockwork Fairy in his hand, but also equally intrigued by those dark stars.

After all, such a Clockwork Fairy on the opposite end, he has never even heard of it.

Not to mention him, even Miss Tata couldn’t provide a clear explanation.

”No need to investigate further, Mr. Knight,” Miss Tata simply answered quietly, ”The Silver Pursuer is a creation of the Numelin Elves. In the alchemists of their era, it was still customary to use some elven spells. For mortals without magical abilities... some of the design concepts from that era are hard to comprehend.”

She continued, ”Thus, it is quite natural for a portion of those skills to be lost. In our era, most craftsmen believe that the reason combat fairies cannot be reenacted is precisely because of this.”

Fang Hong had already thought of this point, but it is true that the average combat artisan doesn’t possess spell-casting abilities. However, he suddenly thought of someone—a person who is both a Magic Guided Conductor and also aspires to become a combat artisan—and the latter actually has a basic alchemist level.

This thought only flashed momentarily, and Miss Tata reminded again, ”Be careful, Mr. Knight, the second wave of attacks is coming.”

Fang Hong raised his head and indeed saw more ’dark stars’ in the darkness lighting up. During their first attack, there were only seven or eight bright points, but now it was almost a sky full of dark red ’starlight.’

He understood at a glance that relying solely on the shields of three ’Silver Pursuers’ would be impossible to block attacks from so many directions.

He had to take the initiative to attack, but even launching an attack proactively wasn’t nearly enough.

”There should be more Silver Pursuers above,” Miss Tata replied.

Fang Hong nodded.

This room, named ’Extreme Multicontrol,’ undoubtedly tests the extreme multitasking skills of combat artisans in every wave of attack. And the skill tested in this challenge, frankly speaking, is about using many against many.

Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but feel a moment of pause.

Isn’t this precisely the core idea of the Construct Lord?

However, thinking is one thing, Fang Hong still instinctively raised his hand—in the darkness, indeed there was more response to his call, this time it was five—the five Clockwork Fairies shimmered in silver arcs as Fang Hong pressed his hand down, interposing between him and the black matrix.

And the dark red light was gathering.

At the same time, Fang Hong also clarified in his mind each ’Silver Pursuer’s’ required calculation load. Surprisingly, this type of silver Clockwork Fairy required slightly more calculation than regular Clockwork Fairies, but not overly so.

The main challenge was in temperature control, but if the temperature is well controlled, the additional calculation consumption is not significant.

This made Fang Hong think of Red Leaf, who excelled at manipulating Annihilator QV700, also a highly skilled temperature control specialist. If she were here, it might not be difficult. However, the various miraculous aspects of the Silver Pursuer at this moment could only be attributed to the strength of the Numelin Elves in Fang Hong’s mind.

After all, alchemists, also another gift left to mortals by the latter.

Just like Hain Famm, leaving behind the Zero-Type Crystal for him and the world.

At this moment, Fang Hong had completely calmed down—

Although in other aspects he might not be so confident, when it comes to problems of calculative power, even without Miss Tata’s help in the world behind the door, he is confident he can stand above the rest. After experiencing so many events, he has long been clear that his calculative power is essentially at a monstrous level.

Mere eight Silver Pursuers, such a level of control isn’t even a challenge for him—he even has the position to split the Silver Pursuers in two, with one half attacking and the other half defending, playing out coordinated tactics.

More than ten dark stars’ offensives were easily blocked as a result.

However, the trial obviously was far from over, or rather, had just begun. The dark red stars rose again, and this time the number doubled once more, reaching an attack scale of more than twenty.

And this time, the number of silver Clockwork Fairies appearing from the dome above was seven, with Fang Hong controlling as many as fifteen Clockwork Fairies at one point, a number that was almost his pure limit before the journey to Fenris.

Nonetheless, fifteen to twenty, still didn’t change the outcome.

In the fourth wave of attacks, the world behind the door seemed to consider the limits of the artisan, with the intensity of the offensive slightly reduced, this time only ten dark stars joined the attack sequence, bringing the attack scale to thirty.

Initially, Fang Hong didn’t perceive any problem since he could still further increase the number of controls. Although from this wave of offensives he also had to dodge amidst the crisscrossing red lights, he could still manage it with some back and forth counterattacks.

This time, his actions were slightly slower, taking a full five minutes and losing two Clockwork Fairies to pass the challenge.

But when it came to the fifth wave of attacks, when the remaining twenty dark stars simultaneously activated and joined the attack sequence—a situation where the number of surviving dark stars reached between forty-five to fifty—even though the dark star’s attacks were rather rigid and easy to handle, Fang Hong didn’t need to control an equivalent number to face them.

Yet suddenly, he sensed there was a slight issue.

Of course, he can manipulate as many as twenty to thirty Clockwork Fairies, but what about others?

Only then did Fang Hong recall theoretically speaking, even in the previous wave of attack, he believed few combat artisans of the same level could endure. Not to mention this wave that even he finds somewhat difficult; it is uncertain whether success is achievable.

Regarding others, he felt the problem might be significant.

So the question arises, how did others get through?
