Pillar of Yita

Mr. Anluose noticed Fang Hong’s concern and said, ”No need to worry, the time flow inside and outside here is not consistent. If you’re worried about the date of the Continental League, there’s no need.”

Fang Hong was a bit surprised by this answer, but quickly realized that Odin had already informed the other party about this, and felt reassured. It seems the passage of time behind this door is even slower than he had estimated. So, does it mean that he hasn’t used much time staying in the previous stages?

He also wondered how long it took Loofah to pass the test of the Hall of Thousand Doors? Considering this, Fang Hong suddenly realized that perhaps a slower pace might be advantageous, at least it wouldn’t draw attention. Although his level had been increasing rapidly recently, he was still only around level seventeen, nearing eighteen, far from being able to face potential dangers fearlessly in the First World.

Thinking of this, he calmed down and asked, ”Then Mr. Anluose, when do we start?”

Mr. Anluose glanced at him and asked, ”Don’t you need a rest?”

Fang Hong shook his head.

”Very well,” Mr. Anluose didn’t insist, ”Actually, the skills and knowledge I want to impart to you are not without inheritance on the continent today. They are known as Ancient Alchemy today—or Forbidden Alchemy—the latter because this knowledge and inheritance come from the records of the ’Abyssal Sea Scroll’. In earlier years, people considered the ’Abyssal Sea Scroll’ to be the Holy Book of the Dark Saints, so the knowledge and inheritance recorded on it were also called Forbidden Art.”

Fang Hong was stunned for a moment upon hearing this description.

He had heard a little about the Abyssal Sea Scroll being the Holy Book of the Dragon Worship Sect. The scroll was unearthed beneath the Abyssal Sea, hence its name. And the majority of its existence in the present world today are just fragments, sparsely recording the arrival of the Second Star of Calamity and many descriptions of the Dark Giant Dragon in various Soling disasters, thus it is regarded as a dark tome by contemporaries.

Regardless of that, Fang Hong couldn’t help but feel the urge to back out after hearing this.

Are you kidding me? The turmoil caused by the Mount Holy Pact incident has not subsided to this day, and it is widely known what happened to those players who violated Article 7. The turmoil eventually led to the dissolution of several guilds, and even the aftermath heavily impacted the two major Invoker alliances in the country—Descendants of Flor and the Rainbow Alliance.

At the same time, it was also the starting point of the decline from the prosperity of the domestic dynasty.

The shock caused by the Mount Holy Pact incident in the domestic league was such that the current contradictions in the domestic league are all rooted in it, and have yet to be resolved. Even the second storm at Mount Holy Pact last year can be said to be a continuation of the first incident.

This matter was even related to him, and Fang Hong couldn’t help but think of Miya instinctively.

Although the flashpoint of this incident—the players who violated Article 7—turned out to be nonexistent, just mere slander caused such a huge reaction, and now he is about to learn the actual knowledge from the Abyssal Sea Scroll?

If word gets out, wouldn’t he end up in jail for life?

Moreover, he wasn’t a ’nobody’; it could be said that countless eyes were currently searching for his whereabouts. The Super Competitive League and the Descendants of Flor were probably itching to find any excuse to punish him, and here he was, learning these Forbidden Alchemy techniques.

Isn’t this inviting more trouble for himself?

Fang Hong shook his head vigorously.

He was initially excited, thinking he had triggered some hidden task and reward, but Mr. Anluose’s words were like a bucket of cold water dousing the little bit of exhilaration he had in his heart. Only, what Fang Hong never anticipated was that this was just the beginning.

Mr. Anluose glanced at him and said, ”In fact, your Multiple Parallel is also knowledge recorded on it.”

”Ah?”

Fang Hong suddenly fell into a stupor.

It took him a while to react, stammering as he asked, ”Mr., Mr. Anluose, you mean Multiple Parallel comes from the Abyssal Sea Scroll?”

Mr. Anluose nodded, ”To be precise, it’s just an introductory skill.”

But Fang Hong wasn’t concerned if it was an introductory skill; he only felt sweat pouring down like rain. How did a stowaway like him end up being related to Article 7 again? More importantly, he suddenly recalled a terrifying fact—

He had used the Multiple Parallel technique in the Continental League.

Fang Hong felt his vision darkening, almost fainting. He originally felt quite smug, thinking he might find a way to settle the stowaway issue by secretly developing for a while and then seeking a formal identity from the military.

But he never expected he had already played a big game, even publicly showcasing Forbidden Technique. Fang Hong was utterly flabbergasted, only managing to calm himself down after quite some effort—only to think about this spree of operations, and he’d go black with embarrassment.

Fortunately, he still had some optimistic spirit, mockingly self-consoling, ”Fang Hong, oh Fang Hong, you’re too exceptional...”

But Mr. Anluose, seeing his face turn blue and white, asked, ”Are you sure you don’t need a break? You don’t look well.”

Fang Hong shook his head weakly and only asked, ”Mr. Anluose, is the Abyssal Sea Scroll really the Holy Book of the Dragon Worship Sect?”

”I haven’t researched the Abyssal Sea Scroll,” Mr. Anluose replied, ”I’m an Alchemist, not a Scholar. While those skills and knowledge come from the Abyssal Sea Scroll, understanding them doesn’t necessarily require having read it. As I said, the skills and knowledge I intend to impart to you aren’t without their lineage on the continent today—”
