Pillar of Yita

This incident resulted in two outcomes.

First, the government began to strengthen the regulation of the Stargate, gradually eradicating the rampant smuggling that had been prevalent since the first and second generations of Pioneers. The tourist system was implemented, and the formalization of the Super Competitive League also gradually made it onto the agenda.

The second was the establishment of the Seventh Prohibition—

In fact, this prohibition later sparked another rather famous incident, namely the ’Mount Holy Pact Incident’ that occurred three years ago. In fact, Fang Hong had also experienced the entire incident as one of the onlookers at that time.

If he remembered correctly, during a second-level event in the Second World that was not broadcasted live to Earth, several competitors were discovered by the Tournament Organizers to have used forbidden powers from the Abyssal Sea Scroll. This incident caused a huge uproar at the time—because as is widely known, the Abyssal Sea Scroll is a Holy Book of the Dragon Worship Sect, and most of what exists in the present world are fragments that not only record the descent of the second Star of Calamity but also contain many descriptions of the Dark Giant Dragon from the Soling disaster.

But the impact of the Mount Holy Pact Incident went far beyond this, for the group of competitors involved were rare dark horses in the competition, with many supporters in the community. There was also a lot of evidence indicating they had no actual contact with the Dragon Worshippers, and the Abyssal Sea Scroll was merely a coincidence.

However, the Super Competitive League insisted on upholding the original verdict, resulting in the disqualification of several people and a very lengthy period of surveillance. Also because of this incident, the Guild and club that had trained that team ended in a dismal closure, reportedly selling off soon after due to poor management.

The debate over this incident in the community has never ceased, and the supporters and opponents are severely polarized, almost forming two main camps. One side believes it was merely a few major houses within the Super Competitive League taking the opportunity to strike at their competitors.

The other side believes that the Super Competitive League maintained the fairness and integrity of the competition and harshly punished malicious rule-breaking teams and organizations.

Because of this topic, there are still many verbal battles in the community to this day.

Fang Hong didn’t have too strong a stance on this matter, because the outside world actually had very limited information about what had happened at that time, and most people’s interpretations were lacking justice.

But regarding this matter, he only knew of another interesting detail, which was that not long after the Mount Holy Pact Incident, sympathizers of the incident established a Free Guild using this as their namesake. Its name was ’Mount Holy Pact,’ and this guild later unexpectedly grew and became a very famous second-tier Guild in the Second World.

In a sense, this may also represent the public sentiment at the time to some extent.

However, what Fang Hong found somewhat puzzling was what relation did these things have to the mysteries disappearances of the upper echelons of the Rain Listeners?

It seemed that neither the ’Mount Holy Pact Incident’ nor the Battle of Bain thirteen years ago had anything to do with the Spire beneath Fenris and the Elf Holy Grail.

Yet Elisa had only spoken halfway when she suddenly brought up a detail, ”Mr. Ade, the organization of Semi-Called who attacked the Empire’s convoy and caused the death of an ambassador before the Battle of Bain, they actually have a name—Immortals.”

Fang Hong felt a slight stir in his heart and the words on his lips were inadvertently retracted.

And Elisa continued to say, ”Throughout the process of the war, one could frequently find traces of these people, and they were not just lurking in Colin Ishurian but were also active on the Empire’s side. And after the war, in the documentation from both the Empire and the Kingdom, there are several oblique mentions of this organization, of course without excluding the possibility of deflecting war responsibility—”

”But undoubtedly, the Immortals played a pivotal role in this war, and post-war, they also plotted numerous assassinations and riots, events with impact that even extended to the real world, causing no small amount of panic.”

”What I mean is, Mr. Ade, the Seventh Prohibition was established against this backdrop, and although it targets all Cult Organizations in Eteliria, its real purpose was, in fact, to put an end to the activities of the Immortals.”

After listening, Fang Hong was silent for a while before asking, ”Miss Elisa, how do you know all of this?”

After Elpaxin’s journey, he had also developed an interest in the Battle of Bain and had specifically searched for related information in the community. But unlike the vague official records from both Osh and Colin Ishurian, the Invokers’ records of the war went to the other extreme.

They were far too intricate and trivial.

Too much information, a myriad of records with no clear thread to follow. Relevant searches in the community’s historical records could bring thousands of entries, with the truly valuable information often buried among trivial records. Unless one already had a clear purpose, it would be impossible to discern a coherent thread without several years, or even over a decade, of time.

It was hard for him to imagine why Elisa knew so much about this matter, unless—

As expected, after a pause, Elisa continued to write, ”I specifically looked into materials related to them, on the community, because three months ago, I had seen these people with my own eyes...”

Fang Hong had actually anticipated this answer.
