Pillar of Yita

The girl tightened her grip on the crystal, and on the pale back of her hand was the other half of a crown, bathed in a faint silvery glow reflected by Hailin’s moonlight.

”I told you, don’t call me Little White.”

The voice from the other end of the communication crystal responded through gritted teeth.

...

After parting ways with the Rain Listener, Fang Hong carefully inspected the newly acquired information crystal.

This new crystal’s capacity was at least dozens of times greater than the one he had originally acquired from the Dragonfire Guild. His original crystal barely managed to contain two Walker III models, while this new crystal only occupied a corner of its internal space with the same contents.

If the original storage crystal was a small wooden box, the internal space of this new one was almost equivalent to a standard shipping container. Such crystals, commonly used for storing strategic-level magic guided conductors, were rare even in the Second World.

There were bigger storage crystals available, but those were the highly rare dragon soul crystals, used as containment devices for Dragon Riders. Even the top Grand Guilds might not possess two or three of such items.

This item appeared to be the handiwork of Toragotos, judging from its interior space utilization, which resembled a piece of art. Its rarity and cost were due not just to the Alchemist’s craftsmanship but also to its raw materials.

This type of black crystal, rich in magic power, was either extracted from primordial crystal stones or was a flawed byproduct of dragon soul crystals. The latter are used for producing the core crystals of Dragon Rider carriers, illustrating their precious value.

Unless something unexpected happened, this crystal would serve him for a long time, possibly until he became a Dragon Rider himself. Fang Hong could hardly believe he had managed to acquire such a precious magic guided conductor.

In his possession, this item was likely the first of its kind that even Wu Di, Liuli Yue, and even some top Guild-trained rookies could only dream of obtaining.

He carefully stowed it away. Since the storage crystal had no level or knowledge requirements and only Combat Artisans could use it, he naturally took it for himself. As for the crystal he replaced, there was no rush to sell it—storage crystals were always in short supply and high demand; one never knew when one might need it.

Fang Hong felt somewhat relieved. It was good that it had been picked up by the twin sister; had it been someone else, tempted by wealth, it was quite possible they would not have returned it.

After all, no one had seen precisely what the Lord had dropped, and if someone had replaced it with something else, he wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference.

But he knew the character of Alice and Elisa well, despite minimal contact with the sisters. The Storm Brigade, raised in the Lonely White Field, might not claim much else, but their sense of honor and pride was impeccable.

He thought of the twin sister and suddenly remembered he had forgotten to ask her something The Rain Listener was at odds with the Blood Oath Alliance, and he wondered whether they knew about the connection between the Blood Oath Alliance and the Dragon Worship Sect.

With that thought, he immediately opened his communication list, clicked on Elisa’s avatar, and sent her a message.

”Elisa, how much do you know about the Blood Oath Alliance?”

After a while, a slightly surprised message came back: ”Mr. Ade, why suddenly ask about this? I understand, are you planning to take action against the Blood Oath Alliance?”

Fang Hong shook his head. That might be one reason, but it was not his main purpose. He was about to type a reply, but his hand paused on the light screen, and on a whim, he asked: ”How much do you know about the relationship between the Blood Oath Alliance and the Night Lizard People?”

Because he suddenly remembered something—where did the servants of the Dragon summoned by the people of the Blood Oath Alliance come from? He instinctively thought of the Dragon Worship Sect and Nikopolas, but upon reflection, the historical Dragon’s Witch had never been to Fenris Isle.

This was Toragotos’s territory, and the legendary Green Dragon would not allow another giant dragon to land on his island, let alone a Dark Giant Dragon. But if those dragon’s servants did not come from Nikopolas, where else could they originate? Could there be yet another Dark Giant Dragon in the world?

Or could it be that the dragon’s servants were not solely related to the Dark Giant Dragon? The first thing that came to Fang Hong’s mind were the Night Lizard People. It is well-known that the Night Lizard People follow a tradition of secret worship. The word ”night” in their name not only refers to their life in the dark but also relates to their dark religious customs.

Numelin and the Xinsas Serpentfolk worshipped the Sun Gods, but this pantheon had been greatly weakened by divine wars during the era of the first Star of Calamity, and the Sun Gods had mostly perished by the end of the last era. After the last Sun God, Ta Aka, entered a long slumber, ’Orlin’ was born from the consciousness of his Star Realm.

But in Eteliria, there were rumors that some minor Lesser Deities had awoken from long slumbers within the Star Realm, transforming into dark deities. The Night Lizard People secretly worshiped such a deity, aligning with the rumors surrounding Fenris Isle.

Fang Hong thought, assuming the rumor that a deity slumbered beneath Fenris Isle was true, and that the dark deity worshiped by the Night Lizard People had not fully revived, then these two could be one and the same. This would explain the strange actions of the Night Lizard People.
