Pillar of Yita

To accomplish these two points so well is rare as phoenix feathers and unicorn horns.

Looking solely at the realm of Combat Artisans, Fang Hong thought among those he had encountered, only the unidentified Combat Artisan from the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team not long ago had such a standard.

Even Wu Di was quite inferior by comparison.

Red Leaf and the Silver Forest Spear’s Liuli Yue were naturally even further behind.

As he was reflecting on this, the variant female Sword Bearer under control of the opponent suddenly raised both hands to her forehead, her swords crossed, and she opened her mouth.

Being a Sword Bearer, she naturally lacked a sound system; hence she was destined to emit only a silent scream. But the sight caused the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team crowding around from below the pyramid to show panic and retreat hurriedly.

Fang Hong was puzzled, but suddenly a flash of white light burst forth, a dazzling cyan-white beam shot from the crystal on the chest of the variant Sword Bearer, sweeping like a hundred-meter-long platinum sword through the crowd.

The beam swept across the crowd, its hits erupting in an even more blinding light, a second explosion occurred, the shockwave flinging many people away. The shockwave even traveled far in this direction, Fang Hong himself felt a slight tremble under his feet.

He couldn’t help but inhale sharply.

He recognized that skill—an Elementalist’s sixth ring Crystal Trace Spell, and it required a Level 35 pure Elementalist to stabilize the control of a sixth ring crystal, implying that the attack held at least fourth-tier lethal power.

Perhaps not all, but at least half was there.

But could a Sword Bearer sustain that level of magic power output?

He stared and saw that after casting the spell, the variant Sword Bearer immediately burst into sparks indicating an overload, her head slumped, and she completely disintegrated, turning into a heap of char.

The boy with pointed ears didn’t even look before tossing out another brand-new variant Sword Bearer. This scene made Fang Hong’s heart bleed; he thought he had reached a decent level of affluence, at least able to treat Clockwork Fairies like bombs to be thrown.

But the sight before him deeply wounded him.

It turned out, he was still poor.

That was a Sword Bearer, a Walker III model, with better quality ones costing nearly a hundred thousand Lycel each on the market. How could the opponent so casually discard it after use?

Fang Hong couldn’t help but weep.

However, heartbreak aside, the performance of this variant Sword Bearer still amazed him. Admittedly it was a waste, but it deployed strength several levels above its designation—

This approach was simply a stroke of genius, a masterpiece that definitely wasn’t just about overloading the main crystal; there had to be a precise design behind it.

But the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team momentarily retreating did not mean that the situation was somewhat better for the other side. The combat skills and coordination of a first-rank Guild, let alone the standard of the strategists behind the scenes, were definitely top-notch.

Although they scattered to avoid the attacks, the scene was not at all chaotic. Once the attack was over, they quickly regrouped and closed in again.

Fang Hong immediately saw that the key issue now was that the Rain Listener’s men were blocked by the opponent at the base of the pyramid, unable to go up and support the young man named Baihua. Moreover, it was unclear how he had become mostly separated from his own Guild.

He might be very strong, but even the strongest couldn’t break through a heavy siege, especially since the opponent’s level wasn’t poor either, not to mention that this guy didn’t seem to have any intention of turning back.

He was still moving forward.

The injuries on the opponent were already severe. Although none were fatal, their number was considerable, and his white robe was soaked with blood. Fang Hong saw Baihua take out potion bottles to drink several times, probably things like healing potions.

But healing potions only mend wounds, not the symptoms of excessive blood loss. The opponent’s combat state had clearly declined a lot compared to earlier.

”Ah, they’re closing in again!” Tianlan said anxiously. Although she wasn’t very familiar with the young man, they now shared the same opponent and instinctively regarded him as one of their own.

But Fang Hong wasn’t overly anxious.

He noted that the opponent could still hold on for a moment, but the real danger actually lurked in that Clockwork Fairy hovering in mid-air; the opponent was far too overconfident. He might have thought his Clockwork Fairy was well-hidden.

But in the eyes of a true Combat Artisan, just observing the opponent’s way of assessing the situation and directing movements during combat was enough to roughly guess that he was monitoring the battlefield via that vision.

An ordinary alchemist or craftsman might not achieve this.

Fang Hong knew that at least within this valley, someone from the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team could.

In fact, his guess was very accurate—

At that moment, on another pyramid, a young man rubbed his bird’s nest-like messy hair and set down his binoculars. Kaka looked up at the sky, his gaze somewhat helpless as he glanced in the direction of that Clockwork Fairy.

And he was far more cautious than Baihua; he didn’t even let his Clockwork Fairy take to the skies. Perhaps he was acutely aware of the keen sense among Combat Artisans, or maybe he was simply spooked by Fang Hong not long ago.

In any case, he’d rather use the backward method of binoculars than risk revealing his Clockwork Fairy—after all, startling the enemy could be quite problematic.
