Pillar of Yita

He hastily promised.

At this moment, to Grant, Fang Hong symbolized the last straw that could save them. Previously, he might have maintained some of the dignity typical of high-level guild members, but now he could hardly afford such luxuries.

Moreover, becoming a peripheral guild for Elite wasn’t really disgraceful—many guilds didn’t even get this opportunity. Unfortunately, Fang Hong was not a member of Elite, and he had no idea how to explain this to the other party.

In fact, aside from Lonely White Field, almost no one believed his ”ghost stories”—his claim to be from the Free Adventure Group.

He could only shake his head and say, ”We’ll talk about this later. I’ll cut to the chase and discuss the next steps.”

He looked down the hill.

During the previous combat, the Blood Oath Alliance had occupied the two tallest pyramids on the square, while their knights and other melee professions established a tight blockade line behind the square.

The two pyramids and this blockade line formed a perfect square, and the pyramids resembled two vertices that extended out from this square. If they were to break through the defense directly below, they would be struck from behind by the rangers and spellcasters atop the pyramids.

But if they were to attack the pyramids first, not to mention the difficulty of assaulting from below and storming the fortress, the two pyramids could also support each other. Moreover, if they couldn’t conquer them immediately, once the knights below circled to the rear, they would end up surrounded and attacked from both front and back.

Clearly, Rain Listener had previously suffered considerable losses with this tactic, with many failed attempts to ascend, resulting in heavy casualties from direct assaults.

At this very moment, Baihua also faced resistance while attacking one of the pyramids, clearly showing that the opponent was deeply aware of the strengths and weaknesses of their tactical system and had maximized their advantages while minimizing their weaknesses.

However, Fang Hong had earlier observed the battle between both parties and had formulated a plan, especially after the Clockwork Fairy was attacked, which had confirmed his thoughts.

He shared his point of view and then pointed in the valley towards Grant, saying, ”Pull all your people back, gather them, and get ready to break through the Blood Oath Alliance’s defense line from the center.”

”Directly break through?”

Grant was startled upon hearing this, initially unsure whether Fang Hong’s confidence stemmed from being a member of the Grand Guild or was merely blind self-assurance. He wanted to warn his counterpart that the pyramids were not so easily dealt with, but he dreaded being too wordy and provoking the other party.

The vice-chairman of a guild, at this critical juncture of life and death, finally hesitated.

But Fang Hong had fewer reservations, simply replying, ”Trust me, Mr. Grant. Don’t worry, I’ll handle the two pyramids.”

”Alright, Mr. Ade,” Grant was out of options and could only nod in agreement. After all, their situation was already desperate, and at this point, they could only hope to turn a lost cause into a chance for survival. ”When do we start the attack?”

”Immediately.”

”Immediately?”

Grant was taken aback. He could see from Fang Hong’s perspective that they were still some distance from the battlefield. What did he mean by this? A dark thought crossed his mind—could Fang Hong actually be a spy sent by the Blood Oath Alliance to sabotage them?

But he quickly shook his head, discarding this absurd notion. It seemed far-fetched, especially since the Blood Oath Alliance scarcely needed to do such a thing.

”Alright,” he almost gritted his teeth as he spoke: ”Mr. Ade, do you have any other demands?”

”Other demands?”

Fang Hong then realized he was actually the dominant party in this exchange. Rain Listener was already tottering; in their eyes, he was merely helping without asking anything in return.

But in reality, it would have been hard for him to create an opening in the Blood Oath Alliance’s position without leveraging Rain Listener’s strength.

A thought struck Fang Hong, and he unintentionally declined to dismiss the proposition: ”Let’s deal with this issue first and discuss that later.”

His response greatly relieved Grant. If Fang Hong had no intention of negotiating terms, it might actually make him suspicious of Fang Hong’s intentions. But now, things seemed much simpler.

The communication between the two parties then ended.

Fang Hong turned back to the others and announced, ”Get ready, we’re about to break through.”

”How do you plan to do it, Brother Ade?” Tianlan asked curiously. She had heard Fang Hong’s earlier declaration: ”If we launch an attack from this direction, apart from Parker, none of us could manage, Brother Ade. Do you plan to use the ’Fire Giant’?”

”Of course not,” Fang Hong replied, ”Sending out the Clockwork Fairy in this direction would be too easily spotted by the opponent, and I know where that guy is hiding.”

No one understood what he meant.

However, Fang Hong turned to the Big Catfolk and asked, ”Mr. Reed, is there any way you could directly throw me into the battlefield from this direction?”

”What?” The Big Catfolk looked at him in surprise.

Fang Hong scratched his head and dropped a bombshell that surprised everyone:

”I mean, can you throw me over there while you’re in your full strength burst mode?”
