Pillar of Yita

”The Jiefulite Red Cloak Team has already stopped the ritual magic, and from the current situation, it’s too late to start it again,” Baihua once again took the initiative to speak, her clear voice sounding icy cold, ”Since that’s the case, there’s no need for us to attack further. It’s just a trap up there.”

While speaking, she also glanced at Fang Hong.

Whether it was an illusion or not, Fang Hong always felt that her voice had become even colder. But he nodded anyway, and the two looked down at the pyramid below, indeed seeing a line of people approaching in this direction.

Although the battlefield below was chaotic, at first glance, those people were mixed in between the two sides of the combat, no different from the others. But a closer observation revealed the anomaly.

Those people were almost charging straight for the pyramid, whether it be the Rain Listener, Free Summoners, or people from the Blood Oath Alliance, they were all easily swept aside by these newcomers, who were virtually carving a path through the chaotic battlefield.

This level of strength was a bit terrifying.

Moreover, Fang Hong recognized among them the Gunslinger he had seen in the Elf Ruins.

Baihua suddenly spoke softly, ”There’s a slim chance to escape from that direction right now. Let’s split up. I’ll hold off the people above for a moment, then we’ll meet up below.”

Fang Hong was startled, looking at her somewhat unexpectedly.

Baihua answered, ”Don’t get the wrong idea, you helped me once, now I’m helping you.”

But Fang Hong felt it wasn’t just that, yet there truly was no better choice at the moment. He looked toward the other side of the pyramid, where the valley was engulfed in battle, but the evenly matched combat had already proven the Blood Oath Alliance was headed for defeat.

After committing all their reserve strength, the adversary essentially had no extra forces to block the entire valley anymore. In fact, some smaller groups had already begun moving toward the back of the valley.

And the two pyramids were almost paralyzed, indeed making it the optimal moment to leave. He had in fact found the best escape route and then looked towards Atira.

Atira understood his intention immediately, saying, ”Reed and the others are breaking through from the northern perimeter. If all goes well, they should have already reached the latter half of the valley.”

Only then did Fang Hong nod, saying to Baihua, ”Then I’ll trouble you.” Although he was somewhat suspicious of her motives, her actions were indeed a big help to him at this time.

Baihua didn’t reply, just nodded coldly.

Fang Hong didn’t waste any additional words, turning his head and running towards the back of the pyramid. There, the allied forces of the Rain Listeners and Free Adventurers were just pushing past the middle line, and the back of the pyramid was a clear sign of disarray.

All he needed to do was get off the pyramid and dive into the crowd below, and it would be very difficult for the enemy to spot him on the battlefield.

Seeing this, Atira gave Baihua a nod, then followed suit. Fang Hong’s sudden turn of action caught everyone off guard. The Rangers in the Red Cloak Team above realized something was seriously wrong.

Without the time to consult with the Solitary Boat in the Sea, he led his men down from the altar, shouting as they went, ”Stop that guy!”

But they didn’t stop Fang Hong; instead, a chainsword blocked their path.

Fang Hong swiftly ran to the edge of the pyramid. Looking back, he saw only a white figure being swallowed up by the sea of crimson robes. He paused, then without thinking, released a Clockwork Fairy in that direction. It flew into the crowd like a drop of golden light, setting off a dazzling Flash.

And with a deafening boom.

Amid the booming sounds, he leaped down from the pyramid. Luckily, the ground below was a soft meadow. When he landed, he tucked and rolled, suffering no injuries. As he looked up, however, a heavy cavalry in a crimson cloak was charging towards him on horseback.

The tip of the opponent’s lance glowed with a streak of blood-red light, suggesting he was in the final acceleration phase of the charge.

Fang Hong cursed his bad luck as he got up and ran toward the Forest, but of course, he could not outrun the charging warhorse. He just timed the distance to an old grey tree behind the charging Jiefulite Heavy Cavalry and suddenly turned to shoot out the Flying Claw.

The arm armor, dragging a long tether, flew out, and under his control, firmly latched onto a branch extending from the Grey Tree, snapping taut. The knight was so close that the gleeful smile under his helmet was visible, but suddenly, the smile froze on his face. He had no time to react before his upper body slammed into the tether and was violently flung backward, thrown from his horse and landing heavily on the ground.

Unfortunately for him, he landed on a slab from the Elf Ruins, landing headfirst with a broken neck, dead in what could only be described as a peaceful manner.

But Fang Hong didn’t have it easy either. The huge impact of the warhorse dragged him a great distance. He felt a tremendous force being transferred from the tether, which swept him off his feet into a dizzying sensation. Before he could make sense of what was happening around him, he found himself landing in something soft and fluffy.

Fang Hong instinctively braced himself with his hands, only to hear a muffled groan. It was Miss Atira’s voice. His mind went blank, and he was suddenly enveloped by a rich scent of Calmwood, a characteristic fragrance of the Elf Girl, which was usually subtle but never as clear as in this moment.
