Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong suddenly realized that this object obviously couldn’t possibly have such abnormal protection; otherwise, no one here would be a match for it. Toragotos had set this trial to select warriors, so of course, he wouldn’t set a meaningless condition.

He thought for a moment and then had an idea.

The battlefield’s center was almost a hundred meters away; the combat between the Blood Oath Alliance and the Rain Listeners was heating up. Trying to get close to Kukulkan’s Holy Relics from the battlefield was almost impossible.

Trying the same trick to hurl Tainaric over as they did earlier in Saint Peru Valley wasn’t realistic either. Not only was the distance greater, but the terrain was also lower, unlike their previous position on the hilltop.

To throw something a hundred meters on flat ground, even Tainaric with the Earth Ritual wouldn’t be sufficient. It would probably require the strength of Hercules, the Son of Demi-God.

However, he quickly had an idea and turned back to the three of them, saying, ”I have a plan.”

All three looked at him.

Fang Hong then looked at Xiangzi, ”I need your help.”

He gathered everyone close before starting to explain his plan. After hearing Fang Hong’s description, Xiangzi looked incredulous, even the unusual glow in his eyes beneath the mask showing surprise, and he said, ”Wait, this could actually work?”

”We’ll know if we try,” Fang Hong casually answered, even appearing somewhat eager—a plan was just a plan after all; the actual effects would only be visible after implementation. That was always his approach, so it was no wonder Miss Sicape often mocked him for being headstrong and mindless.

But this style seemed to greatly suit the youth; a flash of excitement gleamed in Xiangzi’s eyes: ”And if it fails?”

”Then we execute the original plan.”

”Just storm in?”

”Just storm in.”

”I like it,” Xiangzi nodded vigorously: ”Let’s do that.”

Behind the two men, Tainaric also nodded, as Andasok warriors traditionally disliked dragging things out. This straightforward style rather suited their warrior clan’s tradition.

However, being Dragon’s Chosen, it was natural for them to stand out from ordinary humans.

The Lizard People, after hearing the two’s plan, remained silent, merely thrusting their Double-Headed War Spear into the ground and unshouldering the Obsidian Great Sword behind—an Obsidian Great Sword of the Lizard People of Andasok, blessed by holiness, was far tougher than standard fire crystals. And as an heir of the clan, the Obsidian Great Sword in Tainaric’s hands was extraordinary.

Tainaric then raised his Great Sword and forcefully slashed at the Obelisk in front of him. With a loud crash, the top half of the Obelisk fell.

Before the collapsed Obelisk and rocks could hit the ground, Xiangzi had already stepped forward, placed his Magic Wand on the ground, and a purple glow emanated from his left hand, which also enveloped the top half of the Obelisk.

He gently lifted it, and the Obelisk floated upwards along with the motion, hovering mid-air.

The Obelisk was heavier than the two rocks he had manipulated in the rift before, almost reaching the limit of his Power System Spells, and he looked somewhat strained. Yet he clenched his Magic Wand tighter and slowly lifted the Obelisk into the air.

This was one of the characteristics of Power System Spells: they weaken when combating living beings due to the will of the lifeforms, but their power multiplies when manipulating inanimate objects.

After great effort, Xiangzi managed to raise the Obelisk to its highest point, then turned back and nodded at Fang Hong before swinging his Magic Wand forward with all his might. The Obelisk suddenly screeched, shooting forward like a streak of black light, plunging like a meteor toward the center of the battlefield.

In the moment the Obelisk moved, Fang Hong raised his hands and let out a Rocket Fist, seizing the rear half of the Obelisk. The metal claws on his Reinforced Gloves instantly locked in place, and the metallic components of the cable sparked a trail of fire, pulling him forward with an immense force. His hands felt as though they were about to be severed, but his body soared into the air.

The sensation was indescribable. Suddenly, Fang Hong had second thoughts about his plan; as he flew through the air, his hands felt numb, and the ground seemed only a moment’s distance below.

Xiangzi and the others had already turned into mere specks, and the battlefield ahead seemed to abruptly come closer into view, with the combatants on both sides halting and looking up in his direction.

The piercing whistle of the Obelisk flying through the air finally overcame the noise of the battlefield, alerting everyone. The fighters turned, astonished to see the massive dark stone flying above them.

It struck precisely in the middle of the battlefield where a large statue stood.

If you’ve ever seen how a catapult operates, the scene would not be unfamiliar; only, behind the stable piece of rock trailed a long kite, which made Fang Hong release one hand with a click, the sudden change in balance nearly flinging him away.

But that lasted only a moment; from a previously prepared spot, he pulled out a refined Crystal Bottle, flipped open the cap with his thumb, raised it to his lips, and downed its contents in one gulp. Below, everyone’s eyes involuntarily followed the Obelisk as it traced a parabolic arc downward.

The next instant, near the statue, the Light Shield flashed again, a loud sound erupted, and the Obelisk shattered into several pieces upon impact. Time seemed to resume only at this instant, and both sides of the combat, only then realizing there were others peering into the battlefield, nearly stopped fighting simultaneously, cautiously retreating to avoid any advantage being seized by outsiders.
