Pillar of Yita

And not these minor details.

Next, Xiangzi, who didn’t know from which corner of the community, found the ”technical details” about the maze and volunteered to lead the way, claiming that his character was unbeatable and that he was the full-time person in charge of inspecting bodies and opening chests for the Storm Brigade.

Fang Hong took it seriously, and the four of them walked for half an hour, during which they encountered Silver Weslan again. The dark-haired female knight at the forefront glanced at them and seemed a bit startled.

”Ah, what a coincidence?” Fang Hong started an awkward conversation.

Then he saw the members of Silver Weslan wearing embarrassed yet polite smiles on their faces.

”Yes, we just came down not long ago,” Sophie replied softly, without changing her expression or skipping a beat.

You must be kidding, Fang Hong thought. If they hadn’t seen these people enter the teleportation gate with their own eyes earlier, he might have believed them. He took a closer look at the princess, trying to detect any trace of lying on her face.

But, frustratingly, he couldn’t discern anything; she seemed so composed that it felt almost natural.

How odd.

Fang Hong thought to himself that it was rumored in the community that the people of Silver Weslan never lie, even more rigid than real paladins. But now, it seemed that was not entirely the case. However, they were still friendly enough; there was probably no point in fighting here, so after exchanging greetings, they went their separate ways.

They even exchanged maps—although this gesture was not very significant in this maze.

Only after parting did Fang Hong remember that he had been followed by a Clockwork Fairy. He quickly opened it and heard the conversation of Silver Weslan. It was the voice of the red-haired female knight, Xi:

”Sophie, let me lead the way,” the girl’s voice was both annoyed and somewhat helpless.

”No need,” Sophie said, ”We just came down not long ago, and I’ve been quite lucky. You all know it, perhaps we’ll find the nearest teleportation gate soon.”

”Yes, yes.”

”Sophie is right.”

The knights echoed in unison.

Someone even gave an example: ”Last time we killed the Mountain Giant and the treasure between the chests, Sophie managed to get Noen’s Dagger, which is not something ordinary people can do.”

Sophie seemed a bit embarrassed and coughed lightly: ”That was just a fluke.”

The voices gradually quieted down.

Fang Hong was dumbfounded as he listened. If his memory served him right, weren’t Noen’s Daggers just Level 17 C-quality weapons, not even refined? Mountain Giants were monsters from the southern part of Colin Kingdom, relatives of Hill Giants who liked to build treasure vaults in the mountains and store plundered treasures in exquisite chests.

Giant Dragons especially liked these giants and occupied their caves as their lairs; usually, the former had no solution towards the latter.

How could it be considered ’good luck’ to get a C-quality dagger from a giant’s treasure?

Fang Hong couldn’t help but wonder if there was something wrong with these people’s brains.

On the other hand, the legitimacy of a sophomoric youngster was also questioned; they wandered in the maze for half an hour and ended up back where they started. Xiangzi explained it was due to interference from the Papalarians, which nearly resulted in a fight between the two of them.

Fang Hong had realized by now that this guy was also from Africa, so he reluctantly revoked his ’leading party’ title. He glanced at Tainaric, the Lizardman Prince who was a native; generally, natives were real-deal types, usually not so lucky.

Having no choice, Fang Hong had to step up himself.

Frankly speaking, he had always considered himself to be not very lucky. His experience in Eteliria during the past half year had been somewhat bumpy, without any particularly ’great fortunes’. He had involved himself in a lot of trouble, not to mention the Colin Ishurian Artisan Association trying to find him, but even the military had been trying to drag him back home.

He had also managed to get on the bad side of both the Silver Forest Spear and the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team, made enemies with the Dragonfire Guild, and now had even included the Blood Oath Alliance. Maybe sometime soon, the people of Silver Weslan might also come chasing him with swords raised.

But thinking about all these messy things, he led the others forward for about a hundred meters, turned left at three crossroads in succession, and then an inactive teleportation gate appeared in front of the four of them.

”Damn!”

Xiangzi, Parker, and Fang Hong couldn’t help but exclaim in unison.

”Captain picked up my legacy,” the sophomoric youngster was very dissatisfied: ”If you hadn’t dismissed me from my duty, we would have found this gate just a little further ahead.”

”Nonsense,” Parker said loudly, ”I actually wanted to go this way too, but it was mainly the curse affecting my mind. If it weren’t for this curse, I would be much better than you.”

”Your curse must have infected me,” Xiangzi immediately retorted, his emotionless killer vibes fluctuating intensely: ”You plague spreader, Little Fatty, even Nagou showed interest in your quality.”

”What did you say!”

”Alright, alright,” Fang Hong pulled the two apart, ”All this nonsense you’re talking is useless, the fact is I led you all to this teleportation gate.”

”Shameless!”

Xiangzi and Parker immediately found common ground and agreed.
