Pillar of Yita

”Let me do it.”

Tainaric reversed the tip of his spear, plunging it heavily into the ground as he stepped forward and spoke.

Everyone turned around. A flash of realization crossed Fang Hong’s eyes—it wasn’t the Lion People’s Reed who had the greatest strength in the team at that moment, but the Lizardman Prince Tainaric.

Tainaric said nothing, merely extending his claw toward him.

He glanced at Fang Hong, and a cold arc of light gleamed superficially in his slit reptilian pupils.

Seeing this, Fang Hong smiled and extended his hand without asking further.

”Wait a moment.” Atira approached, her emerald eyes filled with concern as she looked at Fang Hong, ”Are you sure?”

Fang Hong glanced at the distant pyramid, then turned back and nodded gently.

Only then did the Elf Girl nod, smoothing the messy hair on his forehead with her hand, ”I’ll go with you.” Fang Hong looked up at her, somewhat taken aback. The Elf Girl stepped back, extending her hand as a green phantom converged in her palm, vines intertwining to form a spear.

At the same time, emerald patterns sprouted on her wheat-colored shoulders, feathers grew from her skin, and a pair of gray wings emerged from her back. Fang Hong’s eyes widened slightly, ”A partial transformation, Miss Atira, you’ve become stronger.”

”After the Dolifen incident,” Atira replied, ”I could hear the Lord Goddess’s voice more clearly, let me cover your back.”

”What about me, you two?”

The Lion People shook his massive head, squinting his pale silver eyes, he swept a hand over his shoulder armor and asked.

”You stay here and protect everyone else, Reed,” Atira responded without turning her head.

”Alright, leave it to me,” the Big Cat looked back, grinning at three trainees, ”I’ll take good care of these little ones.”

”So do you, Xiangzi.” Fang Hong turned back, ”I’ll wait for you and Tainaric to meet up with Parker,” he pointed toward the valley behind the two pyramids, ”The Blood Oath Alliance will definitely have heavy forces deployed in the valley, be careful.”

”Just some trash fish, Captain, watch me.”

Xiangzi tilted his head, a grin spreading beneath his black mask.

Only Tianlan next to him still wore a face of surprise; Gita tightly gripping her hand, the young girl couldn’t help but ask, ”But Brother Ade, Sister Atira, and the Big Cat People, can’t we wait for the Rain Listeners to go first?”

Fang Hong was also looking in that direction.

He adjusted the Reinforced Gloves on his right hand with his left, and then vice versa, the clicks of the clasps securing echoed before he spoke, ”They’ve already lost their courage; someone needs to give them a shot of adrenaline.”

”But Brother Ade isn’t really a Combat Member, maybe we should switch to the Big Cat People?”

”Hey, little girl, am I so worthless in your eyes?” Reed chided, stroking his long mane at his chin where his Copper Ring clinked, ”I knew you folks even before Ade did.”

Tianlan puffed out her chest, speaking righteously, ”So what? Big Cat, you’re tough-skinned and thick-fleshed.”

The Lion People just shook his head repeatedly.

Fang Hong watched them both and laughed, pulling down his silver mask, ”Don’t worry, I’m actually very good at fighting.” Seeing the evident skepticism on Tianlan and Gita’s faces, he continued, ”Really, see for yourself.”

”Really?”

”Of course, it’s true—”

Fang Hong suddenly remembered those times in the community, but would experiences from the virtual world actually be useful? Yet, there was no more time for hesitation now, the situation was not suitable for Reed to act.

He looked back at Tainaric, nodding to the Lizardman Prince, ”Let’s go, Tainaric.”

The Lizardman Prince, with a cold expression, nodded slightly.

He grabbed Fang Hong’s hand, lifting him up, then hoisting him by his feet. He stepped back a few steps with Fang Hong in hand, making space for a running start, while Fang Hong squatted in his palm, focusing on checking his Reinforced Gloves.

”Ready.”

He said.

Under the gaze of Tianlan and others, Tainaric suddenly surged forward.

A streak of light—

The chainsword in Baihua’s hand suddenly elongated in his vision, the blades like Flying Blades linked by Ether Bundles, sweeping through and blooming like petals of roses, creating a striking sea of flowers.

The members of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team were thrown into disarray, shock apparent on everyone’s faces. They believed that against a small guild like Fenris, especially in alliance with the Blood Oath Alliance, they wouldn’t need to exert much effort.

But the formidable Combat Artisan before them had clearly overturned all their expectations.

The sword blades seemed to fly chaotically through the crowd, but then suddenly withdrew, merging in the young man’s hand into a bright shortsword. He raised the sword to block, the blade clashing with a massive axe cleaving through the air, sparking in midair.

Baihua took advantage of the force to retreat a few steps, flipping over to steady himself with a hand on the ground, he raised his sword before him, a pool of Silverlight reflecting on his somewhat handsome blood-spattered face.

He couldn’t help but catch his breath.

This was his first time being forced to retreat in a direct confrontation.

Seeing this, the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team’s morale surged, thinking the terrifying opponent was finally showing signs of weakening. The sensation of fatigue was apparent from his outward actions, and Baihua was even more aware of his own condition, involuntarily clenching his silver teeth.

What was somewhat irksome to him was that the retreat wasn’t due to facing an equal opponent, but because the recovery of his physical strength couldn’t keep up in the relentless encirclement.
