Pillar of Yita

He handed the telescope he was holding to someone else beside him and said to Six Shadows, ”Position A99, 13, 3, at an altitude of about 120 meters, you should be able to see it; shoot that little thing down.”

Six Shadows nodded, activating her Magic Guided Reactor’s scouting enhancement plugin, a plugin that could be considered a must-have for every scout. Its feature was its high energy consumption; it could deplete the magic power reserve of a ranger-type Magic Guided Reactor within a few minutes.

But its functionality was also immensely powerful.

It could significantly amplify a person’s sensory abilities in a certain aspect for a short time. The Elf Girl naturally enhanced her vision; she squinted and looked up into the sky, and the Clockwork Fairy up in that airspace seemed to zoom in tenfold before her very eyes.

She couldn’t help but be surprised, never having imagined that the opponent’s Clockwork Fairy would be in this direction, no wonder so many scouts from the Blood Oath Covenant Guild couldn’t find it. But her partner found the enemy’s location with just a shabby telescope, not even deploying a Clockwork Fairy.

Six Shadows had always known her partner was very skilled; it would be nice if he could take things a bit more seriously.

She sighed.

With the distance and direction in her grasp and the target motionless within her range, if Six Shadows couldn’t hit it, she felt she might as well request to leave the Elite Corps. She released the bowstring, and the longbow gave a gentle tremor.

But what Fang Hong and the others saw was the young man in white on the pyramid making an obvious rookie mistake; the Variant Sword-Bearer behind him suddenly put distance between them, sinking into the crowd and being split apart from him.

”Ah?” Tianlan couldn’t help but exclaim softly, ”What’s going on?”

Moments later, Fang Hong looked up just in time to catch a glimpse of the afterimage of the Clockwork Fairy falling.

He immediately understood what had happened.

He glanced in the direction where the Clockwork Fairy had fallen, silently deducing the potential source of the attack, and then said to the others, ”We need to make our move now; this is the best opportunity.”

”Make our move?” Gita, who had been standing behind him, slowly blinked and asked, ”How do we proceed?”

Fang Hong looked back at Hilveld and Atira.

The Lady Noble smiled faintly at her and said, ”The groups are almost in contact with each other; they are on their way here, with a considerable number. However, whether they can be relied upon is another question, my dear Captain.”

”My dear Captain.” Tianlan seemed to have discovered a new world, curiously looking at Hilveld and then back at Fang Hong, repeating the title with emphasis.

Fang Hong turned his head somewhat awkwardly and looked towards Atira.

The Elf Miss simply nodded at him, ”Xiangzi has made contact with the Rain Listener Guild. Mr. Grant was clamoring to see you, but since you didn’t speak up earlier, I had to ask Xiangzi to stall him for a while.”

”Perfect, have Xiangzi come here,” Fang Hong finally responded, ”and bring his Communication Crystal.”

The self-proclaimed protagonist quickly approached.

And indeed, just as Atira had described, Grant appeared somewhat frazzled within the Communication Crystal. When he had assumed that the Rain Listeners were thoroughly doomed, out of nowhere, a Combat Artisan, a Supreme One, had emerged in their Guild.

This unexpected Supreme One immediately provided great assistance, seizing a pyramid occupied by the Blood Oath Alliance. But, to everyone’s surprise, the newcomer would not follow his commands.

He had intended for that individual to fall back slightly, to make it easier to dispatch others to coordinate in combat. With the Combatant’s prowess, they could easily breach the Blood Oath Alliance’s defense line.

Once a breach was made, other Guilds and Free Summoners, seeing hope, would find the power dynamics in the valley shifting, making it difficult for the Blood Oath Alliance to recover.

But the Supreme One, instead, charged alone into the thick of it. Now, not only was he encircled by the forces of the Blood Oath Alliance, but also, the men he had sent were entangled by the knights below the Alliance.

The battle was deadlocked, with neither side daring to retreat a step; otherwise, defeat would follow. The situation could have been manageable if victory was assured, but it was clear that the Scales of Victory were tilting slowly in the enemy’s favor.

Therefore, at this moment, Grant was in distress, sweating profusely. When he heard from Xiangzi that a member of the ’Elite’ wanted to meet him, he almost felt like thanking the heavens.

From the live feed coming through the Communication Crystal, Fang Hong heard a series of crisp gunfire, likely from the Gunslingers fighting outside, whether they were from the Rain Listeners, the Blood Oath Alliance, or the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team.

Whichever side it was, it only indicated that the battlefield had moved very close to their command center, and the situation was looking unfavorable for the Rain Listeners.

He glanced in the direction of the pyramid, keeping it brief, ”Chairman Grant, I can help you, but your men have to help me to break through the enemy’s defense line. ”

Upon hearing these words, Grant was ecstatic, and as the Vice Chairman of a Grand Guild, he was so moved he almost cried, ”Mr. Ade, you call the shots; we will fully cooperate with you. If the Rain Listeners survive this crisis, we will naturally become Elite’s ally in Fenris Isle, or even accept your leadership.”
