Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong’s gaze slipped through the green shade of the tree canopies, squinting as he watched a swath of silver wings streak across the sky. They belonged to a group of sleek silver pegasi, whose windy hoofbeats were the source of the whooshing sounds as they flapped their wings.

The silver wings reflected the sun’s light, dazzlingly bright, but the pegasi were soon gone, flying toward the other end of the valley, disappearing from view.

”Silver Weslan’s Silver Pegasus!” Gita looked up, her glasses reflecting light beneath the greenery, and she whispered softly.

Fang Hong glanced down at her, noting that this young girl indeed resembled Miss Tata, with her calm demeanor and broad knowledge.

Unlike Tata, who had a deeper understanding of Eteliria, this would-be Miss Natural Historian seemed to be more knowledgeable about the intricacies between the forces of the Invokers. Such individuals in the guilds were professional technicians and data analysts. It was likely that the Tabopolis Knights Order was cultivating her in this direction.

The Silver Pegasus knights of Silver Weslan were a legend in the China Competition Region, as their Silver Pegasus statues were all rewards from winning the Super Competitive League’s championship three times. But afterward, the Silver Pegasus statues were reclaimed by ”Holy Mountain Lake” Valveran as a prestige reward for the factions, making them nearly out of reach for Invokers.

As a result, the Silver Pegasus had become the symbol of Silver Weslan among the Invoker forces.

However, Fang Hong could see a bit clearer than Gita, after all. His Clockwork Fairy, which he had deployed earlier, was still in the air and had spotted the riders on the silvery pegasi backs, including Sophie and Xi from before.

It seemed that their status within Silver Weslan was quite significant, as rumors within the community claimed that the Little Princess of Silver Weslan was the core of the next generation of travelers. Now, there seemed to be some truth in that statement.

As the Pegasus Knights disappeared from sight, everyone naturally knew where the people from Silver Weslan were headed.

”The Jiefulite Red Cloak Team is going to be out of luck this time,” Tianlan said with a hint of schadenfreude, ”If Silver Weslan is entering the trial grounds, will they block them or not?”

But Luo Yu obviously didn’t see it that way, shaking his head: ”Top guilds rarely come into direct conflict with each other, unless core interests are damaged,” he said. The conflicts between grand guilds were too costly, and those clubs at the top wouldn’t be foolish enough to let that happen. Most likely, the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team would let them pass, given that they already had the upper hand.

”Hey, stick in the mud, you really are no fun,” Tianlan rolled her eyes in annoyance, ”Don’t you think I know that? I’m from the Twelve-Colored Iris too. Can’t you let me have my moment of self-comfort?”

”How did the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team even offend you?” Luo Yu was stunned for a moment, asking in wonder.

”Isn’t the Blood Oath Alliance on the same page as them? Since that’s the case, they certainly have offended me. Weren’t those the same people who attacked us a few days ago?” Tianlan argued confidently, ”Brother Ade said that those guys are behind the Blood Oath Alliance.”

The two argued fiercely while Gita couldn’t help but cover her forehead, listening to them.

On the other hand, as a former ’member’ of Rain Listener, Xiangzi, the party involved, felt no impact from this conversation. Ever since the end of combat, this young man had been silent, not even bothering to check whether the creatures in the sky were Silver Pegasus or Silver Oxen.

He simply kept his head down and thoroughly, without missing an inch, combed the entire Forest, then picked up something from the ground and tossed it over: ”Our spoils of war, Captain! This is yours!”

Taking a closer look, Fang Hong found a Calculative Power Plugin, probably equipment dropped by the opposing Elementalist, reminding him that he had forgotten to clear the battlefield. This was also the reason they hadn’t engaged in many battles, for there was a tongue-in-cheek saying in Eteliria that the quickest way to get rich wasn’t through adventure but by engaging in conflicts between Invokers.

Because defeating monsters often meant you got what you put in, and even then, you had to hire someone to craft from the materials, resulting in a final product that may not even have the Attributes you wanted. But killing players was different, as drops were sure to be finished Magic Guided Conductors and Plugins, and based on different professions, it was unlikely that you’d drop equipment of other attributes.

This statement might have been said in jest, but it did carry some underlying logic. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many Hyenas in Eteliria.

Naturally, Fang Hong disdained the idea of becoming a Hyena with a bad reputation, but he had no moral qualms about taking equipment from defeated Hyenas. The Calculative Power Plugin he had received was a nifty little gem, a C+ Quality item that added 11 points to Calculative Power with a Level requirement of 7+.

With this Plugin, his panel Calculative Power instantly reached 92 points. However, without Miss Fairy’s intervention, his actual Calculative Power could be around 220, meaning he could control up to nine Clockwork Fairies instead of the limit of eight.

With Miss Fairy’s involvement, the figures were somewhat beyond regular comprehension.

After the previous Combat, there should be more Equipment scattered in the Forest. With the other side having several casualties, it was unlikely that only one piece of equipment was dropped unless they all happened to worship the Commercial Goddess Roman and chose to revive in the sole Holy Sanctuary of the Commercial Goddess within the Green Dragon Mountain Range over a hundred miles away.

However, Xiangzi and Parker only found some potions and coins, and Fang Hong didn’t have the time to let them dawdle. Having Reed and Atira each grab one, the group continued on their way.
