Pillar of Yita

In the Invoker interface, almost all values related to physical fitness turned the warning red, and the instant recovery value for physical fitness kept decreasing, while the physical reserves never exceeded thirty percent.

He was at the end of his tether.

He lifted his head and glanced at the top of the Pyramid. If he couldn’t get past this place, his sister’s commission would be unfulfilled, along with the plans that followed—

Baihua couldn’t help but clench his fists as he looked at the Chainsword in his hand with increasingly blurry vision. The once-shimmering blade was now marred with crisscrossing imprints due to the loss of Magic Power’s protection.

The sword had only been repaired a few days ago.

As his mind began to tire, his thoughts started to wander, and he couldn’t help but think of that Elite fellow who had fixed this sword for him, the one he had once crossed paths with at Traveler’s Rest.

If only someone from Elite were here.

His mind wandered for just a moment.

But in that moment of distraction, the blade clashed with the axe of a fellow Invoker, and he narrowly avoided a frenzied blow at the last second, leaving a bloody gash across his cheek as he looked up, one silver eye completely obscured by blood.

He looked horrific.

The sudden pain snapped him back to attention. He lowered his blade and surged forward, hugging the ground so closely that his opponent’s next swing cut through the air, striking the ground and sending stone chips flying. The axe-wielding Invoker turned in shock, only to see a white shadow, billowing clothes and all, before his vision spun wildly.

To the others, all they saw was Baihua darting past their Captain, whose legs were severed at the roots, his upper body falling backward heavily without support, crashing into the dust.

Members of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team roared in anger, and more than a dozen Long Halberds stabbed out in unison.

But Baihua simply pushed off the ground with one hand, twisting his body in midair with no room to spare, slipping through the halberds. Mid-leap, he turned to catch a glimpse of the azure blue sky of the Valley.

Just like the hometown of his memories.

He reminisced about the orphanage where he had lived with his sister, how long ago it all was. It was just a small place in the countryside, but the sky was as azure as that of Eteliria.

It was frighteningly beautiful.

Above the azure sky, a shining speck, perhaps a nearby flight?

Suddenly, he shook his head vigorously and regained his clarity. No, there were no flights here, were there?

And between the two Pyramids on the ground below,

the Chairman of the Blood Oath Alliance was looking up, frowning as he pulled down the recording window from the Summoners System, equally puzzled as he watched the long, glimmering trail across the sky.

What was that?

A row of deafening gunshots drowned out his thoughts. He came to his senses and turned toward the battlefield, where Combat had entered its final intense phase after the Rain Listener had sent reinforcements.

The Heavy Warriors of the Blood Oath Alliance stepped boldly forward, shields raised side by side in front, sparks flying as met with a clang, in front of the unmoving mountain-like Iron Defenders. The square filled with rising gun smoke; after the flashing of gunfire, the Heavy Warriors turned their shields aside and a row of Gunslingers immediately broke through the tight ranks, slipping like fish to the front, raising their firearms.

Another haze of gunpowder and fire light rose.

The Rain Listener’s defenses were clearly not as well-prepared, and amidst the gunfire, a bright Shield glow sprang up, although not many fell. Using the rear Spellcasters’ Shields so early put them at an evident disadvantage.

The Scales of the battlefield thus tipped little by little.

But the real Trump Card was yet to come.

The Chairman moved the recording window to the rear, where rows of brightly armored Heavy Cavalry were readying themselves.

He raised his hand to the knights and shouted, ”For the Blood Oath Alliance!”

”Invincible!” the elite Heavy Cavalry of the Blood Oath Alliance roared in unison, each lifting their long spears adorned with colorful swallowtail banners. The spear tips glistened in the sunlight like a moving metallic Forest.

The Invokers’ recording system captured this moment perfectly.

This was their final battle against the Rain Listener, their Guild’s most glorious moment. When the knights charged, the rolling crimson tide would forever seal this victory in this very moment.

It was the best advertisement for a Guild.

He gave a thumbs up to the knights.

The knights responded with jovial laughter.

The recording system loyally documented it all, and of course, its wide-angle camera also captured the silver trail in the sky that was getting longer, while on top of the Pyramid, someone finally noticed it.

What was that?

People who looked up couldn’t help but wonder, was it an eagle?

Fang Hong spread his arms, overlooking the beautiful scenery on the ground in the Valley, as if he truly were a Giant Eagle. In his Vision, the interlocked lines of the Blood Oath Alliance and the Rain Listener were like two distinct colors intertwined, warring and blending with each other.

Clouds of gun smoke rose, blooming like flowers. He watched as gunmen from both sides weaved through the dense formations, firing, with people falling from time to time. The brilliance of Magic marked the battlefield with sporadic hues.

It was dreamy and surreal.

He also noticed the Blood Oath Alliance’s Heavy Cavalry units, spears raised like a forest, slowly approaching the center of the square. On the other end of his vision, in the Forest, another force was moving toward the square from the flank of the battlefield.
