Pillar of Yita

If there is no progress soon, and people’s hearts scatter, once those Free Summoners leave, they can say they are at an even greater disadvantage in the struggle against the Blood Oath Alliance.

Therefore, Grant was quite distressed for a while.

He simply couldn’t figure out why he hadn’t been able to break through the Blood Oath Alliance’s defense. Although their strength here was only a fraction of the Rain Listener Guild, it wasn’t as if the enemy had come out in full force.

Moreover, with the support of a host of minor guild allies and the cooperation of Free Summoners, their offensive should have been sufficient. So where exactly had the problem arisen?

Grant rubbed his temples, unable to hold back a headache.

He glanced at the other people in the hall; the atmosphere was somewhat oppressive for a moment. Seeing this, his heart sank even further. He had only considered the possibility of the small guilds and Free Summoners losing their will to fight, but he had forgotten that the Rain Listeners themselves were also facing numerous problems.

If such a major issue had arisen amongst the club’s upper echelons and his plans were not realized here, the morale that he had so painstakingly gathered would likely fall apart.

He had known privately that in these days, some people of unknown identity had been active within the guild, pulling strings among the small circles that already existed within. He even knew that many in the Storm Brigade had already decided to leave; the Nightingale sisters, whom he had brought up from the training camp and had high hopes for, were predicted to become the main force of the Guild’s next generation of Nightingales.

But according to his subordinates, there had also been people from the Blood Oath Alliance who had talked to them, supposedly even representatives from the backer clubs. Although the twins had not expressed their intentions, if the Rain Listeners were to disband, they would definitely choose this path.

What Grant truly did not wish to see was the Guild’s talent being absorbed by the Blood Oath Alliance, but he also understood that this was an inevitable occurrence; even if the guild dispersed, most of the Chosen would still have to seek their future, and they could not just give up the name of Rain Listeners and leave Eteliria.

Everyone has their own ambitions, what can he do about it?

His only hope now, it seemed, was Silver Weslan.

He knew that if the people of Silver Weslan were in this place, they would definitely take action. Would the Blood Oath Alliance let them pass or not? As long as they allowed passage, there would undoubtedly be more envious eyes in the valley; at that time, with public sentiment inflamed, he could organize another wave of attacks.

And if they did not let them pass...

Even better, that would mean pushing the people of Silver Weslan to their side.

But what he had totally unexpected was that as he waited here for the outcome, a Messenger Official quickly brought in the latest news from outside—the people of Silver Weslan had apparently not had any conflict with Jiefulite’s Red Cloak Team at all; instead, mounted on their Silver Pegasuses, they had gone to another side of the valley.

After being stunned for a moment, Grant’s face turned pale.

He immediately realized that there might be more than one entrance to the Trial Grounds and, considering the relationship between Silver Weslan and the old dragon Toragotos, they might even be aware of other entrances.

But what did that have to do with them? They couldn’t possibly go looking for that entrance; even if they found it, by then it would probably be too late for anything.

Grant was taken aback by such a twist of events and sat there, stunned.

But it was at this very moment that a faint rumbling suddenly came from outside the hall, causing the entire floor to tremble slightly, and dust fell from the dome, settling on the huge round table at the center.

Everyone looked up.

Grant asked with confusion, ”What’s happening?”

The hall was silent, with only his voice echoing; no one could answer his question.

But after a while, frantic footsteps ran in, and the Messenger Official, out of breath, exclaimed, ”Vice Chairman, someone is attacking people from the Blood Oath Alliance; it seems to be a Combat Artisan!”

”Who?”

”Don’t know, but it’s said to be someone from our Guild.”

”Our Guild has a Combat Artisan?”

For a moment, Grant couldn’t help but feel at a loss. When had this happened, and how was he not aware?
