Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 882: Chapter 521: Contract with Shi Wanyun

There’s nothing...

”... What do you mean! What exactly are you guys talking about! I’m going to cause a scene!” Zeng Tao couldn’t understand and was about to throw a tantrum, then Jin Yue patted her shoulder.

”If you don’t understand, then wait and act. We’ll keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn’t run,” Jin Yue said, staring at Shi Wanyun.

”Huh? Oh...” Zeng Tao was a bit confused, ”Hmm... does she really have a problem? Then...”

Zeng Tao walked up to Shi Wanyun, directly extended her small hands, and firmly grabbed Shi Wanyun’s wrists, pinning them behind her back, then said to Xu Xin, ”Alright, she can’t run now.”

”You guys...” Shi Wanyun felt helpless.

She twisted her body slightly, trying to break free, but Zeng Tao purposely restrained her with such strength that even she couldn’t budge an inch.

Such strength...

Xu Xin then walked forward, facing her with a direct gaze: ”Do you really want me to sign the contract?”

”If you don’t believe me, you can do it anytime.” Shi Wanyun stopped struggling and looked at him calmly, ”If you don’t even trust your own methods, I have nothing to say.”

”Hmm...” Lou Fei’Er glanced at her again, then said to Xu Xin, ”Perhaps she might not be trying to deceive us, just eager to become one of us in area 188, so she took the initiative. Otherwise, her acting is too poor, really poor.”

”... What’s so poor about it?” Shi Wanyun, having been told this several times, couldn’t hold it anymore, but couldn’t show it, so she asked softly while holding back her temper.

Lou Fei’Er tapped her own chin and said, ”Hmm... If I were you, even if I wouldn’t be controlled by the contract, I’d definitely pretend to be, then inadvertently bring up the contract but strongly resist signing it.”

”If you want to contract me, I would definitely curse loudly, then attack Xu Xin in a fit of anger and try to escape. This would immediately label me as unstable, surely leading to being subdued by the crowd.”

”But because I’m strong and still useful, Xu Xin wouldn’t kill me on the spot; instead, he’d use drugs and sign a modified contract to control me.”

She continued to stroke her chin, thinking aloud: ”Hmm, at this point, I’d have to really resist, even fight desperately, cause some harm to those around, and get hurt myself, even if it’s serious.”

”Once contracted, after everything settles down, I’d pretend to be meek and pitiful, struggling inside, hating but unable to disobey. This way, I’d easily stay by Xu Xin’s side and leverage his slight guilt towards me to gain his trust.”

She clapped her hands, her eyes lit up: ”That’s right! The perfect plan! This would definitely fool Xu Xin!”

Xu Xin: ”...”

If she really did that, he wouldn’t see anything unusual.

He might actually feel a bit guilty for forcibly controlling her, and thus take care of her.

... Unbelievable.

No wonder she almost killed him with acting before, Lou Fei’Er.

Shi Wanyun: ”... What are you talking about.”

”Oh, nothing, I’m speaking for you.” Lou Fei’Er showed an apologetic expression, ”I just thought, if you wouldn’t be controlled by the contract and wanted to stay beside Xu Xin for ulterior motives, you should do what I said.”

”Since you didn’t do that, it means you might be genuine; otherwise, it’s really too stupid, and the boss lady of area 1 wouldn’t be that stupid.” Lou Fei’Er looked at Xu Xin, ”So now I think she might be sincere.”

Shi Wanyun had a lot to say, but it all condensed into four words: ”... You’re right.”

She controlled her tone, making her voice very calm: ”I don’t know why you think I have a problem. I’m just forced to be here. What I’m doing is because, if it’s regional confrontation, none of the other regions combined could be a match for area 188.

”Instead of opposing you, it’s better to join you, increasing the chance of survival. In the future, there might be a chance to return to the original world, which is my ultimate goal.”

”Moreover... in this world, even if I’m not contracted, can life be considered under my control? Is it freedom?”

Although Shi Wanyun’s tone was still gentle, there seemed to be a slight hint of excitement: ”You say I’ve given up my life and freedom? My life and freedom are long beyond my control.”

”If you don’t trust me as a deserter, sign the contract, that’s all.” As she spoke, her eyes turned slightly red, she gently turned her head, showing a wronged look as if falsely accused.

Of course, she was gritting her teeth inside.

She didn’t know whether Lou Fei’Er’s words were sincere or sarcastic. But she had no choice but to go along with them.

If she showed any sign of anger, wouldn’t it prove Lou Fei’Er was right?

Moreover, what Lou Fei’Er said is indeed quite reasonable.

She even regretted a little now.

Why hadn’t she thought of such a good method herself earlier?

Actually, she might have thought of this method, but the mysterious voice came so suddenly, disrupting her plan and making her thoughts very chaotic.
