Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 857: Chapter 513: So That’s How Survivors Are Born

”The time machine, or should I say, the time machine.” The holographic image of Xu Xin chuckled, ”Perhaps for you, the concept of a time machine is indeed too unbelievable.”

Time... machine? Time machine?

Does it refer to that machine which allows people to traverse time and space, going back and forth between the past and the future... the one that only exists in sci-fi movies?

Created by himself, by the self that’s at least several hundred years old?!

This is too absurd...

... However, the Xu Xin in the hologram before him is utterly different from him, whether in terms of physical quality, mental ability, or knowledge reserves, far superior to himself.

Also, far older than he is now.

Three hundred and sixty-seven years later...

Astonishing how he can say such things so nonchalantly...

Of course, compared with the previously known information, that this is Earth a thousand years later, it’s not so shocking.

But...

The Yingying in the image, is she several hundred years old too?

He instantly felt very strange, the sense of incongruity in his heart was almost exploding.

”Heh, heh, I had a share in the credit of inventing that time machine.” Beside him, the Yingying whose age can be akin to his great-great-great-great... great-grandmother, showed a proud expression.

”Alright, alright, your contribution is enormous, but we should talk about serious matters now.” The holographic image of Xu Xin’s expression became slightly solemn, ”Listen carefully to what I am going to tell you next.”

... Saying half the story again.

Xu Xin was speechless.

The holographic Xu Xin clapped his hand on the crystal table before him, immediately, a rotating hologram was projected above the table.

A slowly rotating blue planet.

Xu Xin’s eyes moved.

This is Earth.

The projection of Earth, an Earth about the size of a soccer ball.

”This is the Earth from a thousand years ago, the Earth we once lived on.”

Then he clapped the crystal table again, suddenly, a huge celestial body appeared above the crystal table.

Another planet, a gigantic planet.

”This is the planet you now live on, which is, Earth a thousand years later.” The holographic Xu Xin spoke, ”Its diameter is roughly ten times that of a thousand years ago, even still expanding, though the rate of expansion now is very slow, so during a normal human’s life cycle, one wouldn’t perceive the change.”

Xu Xin squinted his eyes slightly.

Earth, expanding itself?

He had calculated before, based on the distance between survivors, the entire occupied area by two million survivors is immense, yet there is almost no time difference among the world channel.

This made him ponder at the time, the planet he’s on now would probably be much larger than Earth.

But he didn’t expect it to be the expanded Earth!

And it expanded this much!

A diameter that’s ten times larger might sound insignificant, but in terms of area and volume, it grows exponentially!

A tenfold diameter means a hundredfold surface area, and a thousandfold volume.

Of which directly related to them is the surface area of this planet.

A hundredfold larger!

The planet he’s currently on could cover the surface area of a hundred Earths!

Just one percent of it is an Earth!

”This change began happening after a certain event occurred.” The holographic Xu Xin gave him a few seconds to ponder and accept, then spoke, ”After that, the ancient beast lineage began appearing on this planet.”

Ancient beast lineage...

”And it’s the ancient beast lineage, that ancient and powerful lineage born over billions of years on Earth, which truly allowed us to see hope.” The holographic Xu Xin squinted, ”We have every possibility to take back our homeland.”

The ancient beast lineage is a lineage inherently present on this planet, which was something Xu Xin was already aware of.

This is the message the giant’s head left for him.

The message detailed that the giants fought against the Blood Pattern Race, but lost tragically, and yet they mixed the ancient beast lineage into the mountains and rivers, granting almost all Earth creatures this lineage, enabling the powerful beasts to resist the control of the Blood Pattern Race.

”In my timeline though, the discovery of the ancient beast lineage happened two hundred and ninety-six years after the alien invasion. By then, it was... too late for us.”

The holographic Xu Xin’s expression turned slightly dark, and beside him, Xu Ying bit her lip slightly.

”The ancient beast lineage was actually unearthed by the extraterrestrial beings, it turns out, they left their main forces on Earth because they detected the presence of ancient and powerful biological lineages, and thus paid such attention to this planet.”

”When the ancient beast lineage was discovered, the alien forces, technology, and all were already firmly rooted on this planet, ready with foolproof preparations, while the initial generation of ancient beasts were too frail, and their mutations clear, making them very easy to study.”

”So in this timeline, two hundred and ninety-six years after the disaster, the ancient beast lineage, upon its inception, became their power source. Earth lost its final ability for self-protection, turning completely into a colony, becoming... that group of extraterrestrial beings’ beast cultivation ground!”

Beast cultivation ground...

He thought of the underground world.

The current underground world could also be considered a beast cultivation ground.
