Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 858: Chapter 513: So That’s How Survivors Are Born (Part 2)

Especially around the prison, those gigantic beasts that have been fighting relentlessly, aren’t they just gu?

Fortunately, on his side, the Blood Pattern Race doesn’t seem to have the ability to control the beasts.

Is it because... of the efforts of the self in this image?

”We racked our brains and ultimately discovered that we simply cannot achieve victory against those lunatics, so... we had to take an alternative path.”

”Thus, we restarted the previously abandoned... time machine project.”

”Only by going back to the past can we possibly change the fate of this completely fallen Earth, and possibly avenge our deceased loved ones and friends.”

Abandoned plan?

Xu Xin was slightly taken aback.

The making of the time machine was abandoned before?

The image of Xu Xin provided an explanation.

”The most difficult part of creating a time machine was not the time jump. In fact, I solved the time jump within a century, but... the positioning issue was the biggest challenge. At first, we couldn’t ensure that the time machine could return to Earth.”

”Earth is constantly rotating and orbiting around the sun, the sun orbits the center of the galaxy, and the galaxy operates around the larger galactic center, our position relative to the universe is changing at unimaginable speeds every moment.”

”So, returning to Earth after time travel is incredibly difficult. A slight mistake and the time-traveling time machine would turn into floating cosmic debris, never finding its way home again.”

”We conducted many experiments,” the image of Xu Xin’s eyes darkened slightly: ”because of this, I lost...”

”Brother!” At this point, the image of Xu Ying interrupted him, ”Don’t talk about this anymore!”

”I know you want to save her, but talking about it now is useless! As long as our plan succeeds, she will change her fate in the past and go to a future we can never reach!”

”But will that her, still be her... hmm, you’re right.” The Xu Xin in the image murmured a sentence, then took a deep breath and nodded, ”I will bring her and me... to the same location.”

...What is he talking about?

The image of Xu Xin looked straight ahead again: ”I won’t elaborate on the specific process; in short, under the oppression of those alien creatures, we completed the time machine that even those cosmic-traversing lunatics couldn’t achieve.”

”But another thing stood in our way, troubling us immensely.”

”Through various experiments, we found that two identical individuals cannot appear in the same space-time.”

”Such an occurrence is not allowed by the laws of the universe, just like discovering a viral alien in a cell, it would be directly eradicated.”

”We cannot return to a past where we existed, and therefore, cannot directly change the future by our own hands.”

The image of Xu Xin gave a self-deprecating smile: ”Think about it, if you could change yourself, wouldn’t that create a paradox?”

Indeed, it’s like that.

If one could really return to the past and change themselves, then the self that wanted to change the past would fundamentally not exist, right? Then who went back to the past and altered themselves?

But...

He did succeed.

He changed the past self, which is now Xu Xin, bringing Xu Xin to this... world a thousand years later.

Isn’t this a paradox?

How did he manage it?

”We couldn’t do it, so we had to let others come.” The Xu Xin in the image immediately explained, ”We exploited a loophole in the laws of the universe, sending new people born hundreds of years later back to the past, intending to use them to change this world.”

This...

Xu Xin frowned slightly.

Logically speaking, doesn’t this also not make sense?

If the world really were changed, chances are they wouldn’t be born, right?

Isn’t this the same situation as before, becoming a paradox?

The Xu Xin in the image explained: ”The change in the world does indeed have a high probability of altering their birth, but... maybe it’s truly a loophole in the universe, as long as it’s not the same person appearing in the same space-time, the universe won’t show rejection. They... can indeed make something happen.”

How was this point verified?

It requires someone to go first, risking their life to return to the past, right?

”Verification of this point is actually not difficult, we sent someone who survived at that time and someone who was born later back to the past, only the later-born returned and brought us the news.”

Xu Xin remained silent.

This method was probably bought at the cost of countless failures and lives, right?

”After determining the candidates, we decided to start the plan to change Earth’s fate.”

The entire plan was extremely grandiose.

First, they had to revive the giant beast’s lineage before the alien invaders arrived.

In their timeline, the giant beast lineage didn’t awaken until hundreds of years later, the first generation beasts encountered invaders who had already rooted on Earth and researched for hundreds of years, utterly powerless, becoming the invaders’ weaponry directly.

But if the awakening of the giant beasts were advanced, allowing the first generation to face the initial invaders on Earth, the situation would improve drastically!

They didn’t dismiss the thought of going even further into the past, ensuring the awakening of the beasts in a more distant past, but if that were the case...
