Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 874: Chapter 518: Wenxi Is Missing! (Part 3)

Without saying a word, Xu Xin directly manipulated the roots and quickly brought Keke, Silver King, Shi Wanyun, and himself up.

The room seemed normal,

and downstairs was still abuzz with excitement.

However, those people were quite respectful; although they were immensely curious and excited about the current situation, none of them ventured up to the third floor. Instead, someone shouted from below, ”Brother Xin, give us an explanation when you can! We really want to know what’s happening!”

As soon as he entered, Li Yajun walked up to him with a slightly anxious expression on her face, ”Xu Xin, Wenxi and the girl who claims to be your sister have been in that room and won’t come out. Even with such a big event happening in Crystal City, they still won’t come out!”

Li Yajun pointed her finger at the second bedroom, which is the room where Ma Hongwei and Qin Fu had both slept before.

Then, she looked somewhat surprised at the unfamiliar Shi Wanyun who came in behind him.

However, she was more concerned about Li Wenxi and didn’t ask who Shi Wanyun was. Instead, she said, ”I knocked on the door, but Wenxi wouldn’t let me in. I always felt there was something wrong. You should check it out!”

Xu Xin immediately walked quickly to the second bedroom door.

Because it was a bit noisy downstairs, he couldn’t hear any talking from the second bedroom.

”Ying?” Keke looked at the door, lifted her little paw, and wagged her tail twice behind Xu Xin.

He took a deep breath, suppressing his slightly restless heart, and knocked on the door, ”Wenxi? Are you in there? And... Yingying? Is that you?”

But after waiting a few seconds, there was no response from inside.

He couldn’t wait any longer and immediately turned the doorknob, intending to push the door open.

But... the door was locked from the inside.

”...?” Xu Xin frowned slightly.

Does this door have the capability to lock securely?

He immediately realized something was wrong and knocked on the door again, ”Wenxi? Are you in there? Answer me!”

Still, no one spoke.

”What’s going on?” Li Yajun asked behind him, her eyes full of worry, ”I just knocked; Wenxi was talking! She said to wait a minute and she’d come out soon. But she never did...”

Shi Wanyun stood silently behind, saying nothing.

Xu Xin couldn’t hold back any longer and kicked the wooden door open with a powerful strike.

Immediately, a wave of hot air rushed out.

The room was empty.

Because of the loud noise Xu Xin made when he kicked the door, it suddenly became quiet downstairs. Indoors, it was also very quiet, with only the waves of hot air coming in through the open window making it unbearable.

... What does this mean?

”Wh-why is no one here?!” Li Yajun exclaimed in shock, ”Did they... did they leave through the window?!”

Xu Xin had already rushed to the window, looking outside.

The usual scenery, except for the heat, showed nothing unusual.

... What on earth is going on?!

No sign of Yingying, and Wenxi is gone too?!

”Ying!” At this time, Keke, who had jumped off Xu Xin’s shoulder when he charged into the room, called out.

”Xu Xin,” Shi Wanyun suddenly spoke from behind him, ”there’s a piece of paper here with a message on it, likely... left for you.”

What?

Xu Xin immediately abandoned the idea of climbing out the window to investigate and turned around to look.

He saw a piece of white paper placed beside the bed in the bedroom, with words written in black ink.

Keke was crouched by the bed cabinet, blinking twice as she looked at the paper.

He immediately walked over and picked up the paper.

The paper had only one sentence.

[Bro, I’m taking your wife away for now. If you want to see her again, come find me!]

... Ha?

The words were handwritten, with neat and pretty penmanship.

And to Xu Xin, this handwriting...

He couldn’t be more familiar with it!

”Yingying...” Xu Xin slowly clenched the paper in his hand.

His expression was heavy with deep confusion: ”... Is it really you?”

Isn’t this Xu Ying’s handwriting?

Yingying came to his treehouse, then took Wenxi away, leaving instructions for him to find her?

What a mess!

On top of all the information he hadn’t fully absorbed yet, and with so many things still to do... He suddenly felt like his head was about to explode!

He took a deep breath.

”What the hell is going on...”
