Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 861: Chapter 514: Opportunities Brought by Chaotic Time!_2

”...Girls shouldn’t swear!” Video Xu Xin frowned and turned around to scold.

”What girl? I’m over four hundred years old!” Xu Ying retorted with a face that looked just over twenty.

Video Xu Xin no longer paid her any attention and instead turned his head back to continue, ”However... we’ve still found a solution.”

”Since we can’t bring the future back, we’ll bring everything from the future, including people and objects, back to the past!”

Bring back to the past...

When these people return, they’ll need to send their past selves to the actual future.

Is that why survivors appear in batches?

Not really...

Just in his batch of survivors, there were two million people.

How could there be such a large-scale transport of people? Moreover, could they possibly have so many people involved in this plan?

As expected, only twenty thousand people...

Xu Xin furrowed his brows slightly.

What on earth is going on?

”At that time, we could feel that even we were starting to become unstable. Everyone perceived the passage of time differently; some felt like days went by like years, while others would close their eyes and hours would pass.”

”It wasn’t just people; animals, plants, everything was the same. Normal trees could grow into incredibly thick and twisted millennia-old trees overnight, and rocks thrown into the air could fly at a snail’s pace.”

”By then, the entire future was in utter chaos.”

...Such a world, it must be truly insane.

Hmm...?

Xu Xin thought of something, and his eyes suddenly widened slightly.

The treehouse growing into a millennia-old tree overnight?

This seemed... similar to how in this world, a poplar tree can be induced to grow in just a few hours and jungles can regenerate overnight...

Somewhat similar?

”So, in our organization, the entire two thousand people chose to return to the past. Because everyone knew, there was no hope for this future, it was about to shatter, so why not go back and do something, even if it’s just to see that beautiful world they longed for day and night?”

”However, we were fortunate that when we returned to the past, there was no chaos. Perhaps it was the stable world suppressing our unstable elements.”

...Did they all go back to the past together? Xu Xin wondered.

No.

With the element of time change in play, one cannot think in normal terms.

Those who left early and those who left late could both arrive at the same point in the past.

It’s even possible for those who left late to travel back to an earlier time.

The time of return depends only on when the first group sent people back to the true future.

As expected, the Xu Xin in the video began to speak.

”I was the last one to leave that future,” the Xu Xin in the video said, ”By the time I left, that future was nearing a state of chaos. If I didn’t leave, I feared I would disappear along with it.”

Logically speaking, in the past world he’d recently been to, his past self should have been sent to the future, but Yingying was still there.

This means that the person in this video should have already gone back to the past, while the Yingying in the video had not.

In other words, Xu Ying, who left earlier than the Xu Xin in the video, returned to an even later past.

That makes sense.

...Wait?

Xu Xin just realized, while he was on the second floor, did he... also go back to the past?!

...? Why?

He suddenly looked downward.

Is this palace... a time machine?!

However, his state of returning to the past seemed a bit strange...

At that moment, the Xu Xin in the video seemed to have guessed his thoughts and spoke.

”On your way here, you also went back to the past, didn’t you?” Video Xu Xin smiled, ”Once you arrive here, you must enter the second floor of this palace and experience the time-traveling back to the past. You are now someone who has experienced time travel.”

So that was indeed time travel!

So, the second floor of this palace really is...!

”You’re not wrong,” the Xu Xin in the video smiled, ”This palace is actually a unique kind of time machine. However, to prevent your image from collapsing the future, I set up numerous restrictions within this palace, this machine, so that you only return to the past in a special state.”

”I can’t risk letting you truly return to the past; by then, I’ll already be in that world. If you truly went back, there would be two of us in the same space-time, and we’d both be erased,” the Xu Xin in the video spread his hands.

...No wonder!

No wonder no one could see him or sense him.

No wonder he could only lightly influence the world, picking up only light, insignificant things.

It turns out, it was due to the restrictions in place!

Moreover, there was already one of him in that world at that time!

This feeling is rather peculiar...

”The time you just returned to was already the second month after you left that world, likewise, it was also my second month in that world,” the Xu Xin in the video explained, ”By then, we had basically completed the extraction of the giant beast’s bloodline.”

”...Hmph!” Suddenly, Xu Ying next to him snorted, ”If it weren’t for you, I could have participated in the extraction of the giant beast’s bloodline too!”
