Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 881: Chapter 521: Contract with Shi Wanyun (5400 Words)

”You three, go down first. It’s best if you don’t hear or see what’s coming next.”

Xu Xin said to Li Yajun, Le Youfang, and Niu Fugui, ”You don’t need to worry about the confrontation. Our strength is beyond what the outer zones can compare with. Just reassure those below. Once the temperature outside returns to normal, you can return to your treehouses.”

”Oh, oh...” Niu Fugui nodded blankly and walked downstairs.

”Oh my... I’m slipping away.” Le Youfang, noticing the tense situation, quickly scurried downstairs.

”Alright, but about Wenxi...” Li Yajun was still concerned.

”Don’t worry, Wenxi probably chose to leave on her own, and I also trust my sister,” Xu Xin said. ”Yingying... she wouldn’t do anything to harm Wenxi.”

Even though he was worried, for now, he could only hope for the best.

”...Okay.” Li Yajun could only nod and descended the stairs.

The people downstairs were soon reassured.

After all, Xu Xin’s display of strength over the past few days, like defeating giants and shooting through giant insects, truly put people at ease.

Meanwhile, Xu Xin was staring at Shi Wanyun, lost in thought.

The method she suggested, indeed, was a very good one.

But... why does it feel like she’s so enthusiastic?

He had actually thought about this too, but he figured it might be more difficult, possibly even requiring coercive measures, subduing her first, then controlling her.

Surprisingly, she proposed it herself.

Would an ordinary survivor rush to entrust their life to someone else?

If it were an ordinary survivor, an ordinary woman, it might be understandable.

After all, one person couldn’t survive alone. Entrusting one’s life to the strongest survivor of the strongest organization doesn’t seem problematic.

But... she’s the strongest survivor in Zone 1, and Zone 1 is the strongest area apart from Zone 188.

For such a woman, Xu Xin found it hard to believe she’d willingly give up her life and freedom so easily.

Could she be using retreat as a way to advance, showing loyalty first, thinking that he’d pity her, trust her, and then abandon the idea of using a contract to control her?

No... she shouldn’t be that naive.

In this world, where people can die at any time, no one would keep a time bomb by their side. If it can be controlled, it must be controlled.

In the past, even Zeng Tao and Qin Fu, who did nothing wrong but were strong, were controlled. There’s no way he’d spare someone like Shi Wanyun who seemed problematic to him.

Unless she was attracted to him, love at first sight, and insisted on following him, then... there must be another motive.

Even Xu Xin himself didn’t believe the former, so it could only be the latter.

She definitely had another motive, it was obvious.

But...

What kind of motive would be worth her exchanging her freedom and life for?

Xu Xin narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked at her.

Shi Wanyun felt slightly panicked under his gaze.

She’s already realized she was too proactive, which aroused suspicion.

Beside her, Lou Fei’Er also looked at her with suspicion: ”Could it be you can’t be controlled by a contract?”

Can’t be controlled...?

Xu Xin raised an eyebrow slightly.

Lou Fei’Er’s words caused Shi Wanyun’s eye corner to twitch slightly, then she looked at her with confusion and said, ”What do you mean? Why do you think that?”

”Hmm...” Lou Fei’Er touched her smooth chin and continued to look at her with suspicion, ”I think... you’re acting for us and your acting is a bit poor.”

”I...” Shi Wanyun frowned slightly, a bit unhappy, ”Do people around Xu Xin all speak like this?”

”Hmm? Did Xu Xin also say such things?” Lou Fei’Er glanced at Xu Xin in surprise.

”Huh?” Zeng Tao was very confused, turning her head to look at the others on the scene, ”What do you mean? What are you talking about?”

Jin Yue was standing right behind Shi Wanyun, leaning against the wall, appearing relaxed, but one foot was pressed against the wall, ready to spring into action at any moment.

”Isn’t she basically giving herself for free?” Lou Fei’Er looked back at Shi Wanyun and said, ”Is this how a big shot from Zone 1 operates? Do you know how long I struggled? You’re way too...”

Hearing this, Xu Xin couldn’t help but want to laugh.

Lou Fei’Er was indeed very difficult initially. Even after being contracted, she was disobedient at first but was gradually subdued later on.

It’s also because of Lou Fei’Er’s transformation that he trusted this contract very much, not even considering that there might be a problem with it just now.

But with Shi Wanyun, this indeed seemed possible.

After all, she’s been to the backside of the planet, climbed that towering tree, and might have encountered those alien invaders.

Which means...

Those alien invaders might have already controlled her?!

”When you applied medicine on her before, did she have any blood stains?” Xu Xin immediately asked Lou Fei’Er and others.

”No blood stains.” Lou Fei’Er shook her head, ”I paid special attention because, unlike the three of us, her body was very clean, without any blood stains anywhere.”

”...Isn’t it a bit rude for you guys to discuss someone’s body like this?” Shi Wanyun said, slightly angry and embarrassed.
